you should insulate the 12 ft from the outside wall of the return/exhaust. it will condensate if you dont. you should also scrap your tape the most important thing and do the top if will still to get moisture build up over time and it will go into the insulation on the sides and bottom tape all our seams

Ive noticed two problems with this.

1. they only insulated 3/4 of the supply trunks the tops are still going to lose heat.

2. they took all the time and effort to insulate the trunks but there is still going to be heat loss through the return trunks and they didnt even bother to tape the return joints lol.

Thanks for the video. Do you know where I can get the foam board in Canada,BC? I've been looking for this stuff all over the place we just don't have them in local hardware stores. (BTW: That expensive $15 roll of bubble wrap is $25 here... so cold Canadians are not only limited but overpriced as well)
