O my motherland, to thee I bow On you is goddess mothers sari’s end You mixed with my body You mingled with my breath and soul Your dark soft image is planted in my essence O mother, born in your lap I will die on your breast On you play my joy and sorrow You fed me by hand, bathed me in cool water You bear all carry all mother’s mother Mother I ate my fill, I took so much I know not what I can give Living in vain, living at home In vain your grace, power giver.
'Where is this song from'!!!! This is Rabindrasangeet and you can search the internet for Rabondrasangeet if you don't know the term yet. This song has been originated from the heart of a Bengali and echoes in the heart of all the others :)
@sauravpanja This song is neither from India nor Bangladesh...it's straight from the heart. It hits us hard, really hard between the eyes and echoes the feeling of utter love for their beloved desh...their home. Vande Mataram!
Whenever I listen to this song, my heart aches, tears fall off my eyes, my blood loses its warmth. I live miles away from my country but such songs pull me closer to itself. O amar desher maati .. tomar pore thekai maatha!! I love you Bangladesh!!
Mr Mohammad got a good voice. However he doesn't know how to control his soor in the song.I also observed similar problems in other Ravindra sangeet songs. My advise is to, Please go and listen to this song sung by several ravindra sangeet artists. My request is don't create your own sur(reinvent the wheel) and spoil the melodious Ravindra sangeet.
Your advise is: to listen several ravindra (you even don't know the spelling of this great poet, shame)sangeet artists. Who are the artists? Sadi is one of the greatest Rabindra Sangeet artist in both west bengal and Bangladesh.
You are such moron, please listen Rabindra Sangeet before making any comments about any Rabindra Sangeet artist even about a c-grade artist.
lol i agree with hossain, if u say rabindra sangeet artist sadi is one of the toppest.
now wat chena said, yup i guess he might change some sur fom sharalipi, n i will explain wat happened there.
sadi was a student of bissha varati.
now as my teacher was from bissha varati also, i kno they made some little changes (very little) in some specific places of some songs. and they dont admit it in public cuz no one is allowed to change rabindra sangeet n they r supposed to protect it.
oh well, i think the changes sadi makes r those specific changes he learned from his school, nothing he himself created or something. (personally i don think they should)
but oh well the moral of teh story is that, he is not the only one making those lil changes, they r just bissha varati style.

Good effort but not a spontaneous performance. The songe has more life and appeal than he has created here.
