  • thank you of this post, I had been pulling out my hair over the sample editor... New mantra...can't alter Apple loops..." Geez I've been a tool.....

  • man thanks so much. you're great.

  • His voice makes me want to kill someone.....but his video is REALLY HELPFUL!

  • @donding6: If double-clicking on the region opens the Piano Roll or any MIDI Editor then it means you are working with a MIDI region. Only audio files can be opened in the Sample Editor.

You can bounce (render) the MIDI region to audio from the "Region" local menu.

  • when i double click on my sound it opens with piano roll. and doesnt work with sample editor. can you help?

  • TendownFourtytwo - I just tried this in Logic 9 but had to change it from a CAF file to an AIFF file. Seems as though the original sample is still the same too.

  • @sbholdo Yes, CAF is simply a new container format for aif files. It lifts the 2 GB file size limitation and adds a whole lot more possibilities in terms of tags. Basically in Logic 9 all current aif apple loops were converted to caf format - they are the same as the originals

  • for me this still doesnt work. no matter how i resave the file into wave it still doesn't give me the all clear on using functions. Any idea if there's some other option I've not selected?

  • wow no way: audio!

  • Thanks!!!!

  • Very straightforward, insightful tutorial. NIce.

Your voice reminds me of Randall from the film Clerks. ;-P

  • thanks !!!

  • Thanks, man.. This works in Logic 9 as well! : D
