Technically your point is really valid. With this Qawali and your point, we can assume couple of things. First, 1400 years have passed to this marriage and the related Persons are not in this world so why to remember it. Second, this qawali is dancing and singing. Apparently your assumption is pretty good.

after the war of Qadsiya Hazrat Umer asked one Mujahid to recite rijz (A very similar thing to qawali) about the war of Badr, Uhad and Khyber and compare it with war of Qadsiya.

Now logically, There is no harm in remembering and celebrate past events. I will be amazed if video of your marriage is not made. Or someone might describe it to your kids that how it was and then your kids describe it ur kids in any medium possible. Qawali is a form of rijz not music.
