That's true, especially in the case of a game like Halo, however, the realism was what made CoD so brilliant. The reason we want realism in life-like games like CoD and GTA, is becase we play them to experience that, life, which most of us will never see. If it were unrealistic, it would be harder to suspend our disbelief, ergo we wouldn't be able to immerse ourselves, I don't have this problem, as I easily get into a game or movie, as do most creative people. But for some, it's not so easy.
God damn, Destin. There's only, what, four real Halo games (soon to be five) now? Over the time span of 9 to 10 years? That isnt whoring!
Okay, maybe the comics and the upcoming anime may be going a bit too far, but as far as the games go, aside from the slight speedbump known as ODST (then again if the price was $40-$50 and had matchmaking, it would have been perfect) the Halo games are well made and fun to play.
It's being milked because it's one of the biggest franchises of all time, and instead of taking their time and creating good, original games, they're rushing out cheap, inferior last-minute shooters to further cash-in on their only successful game.

Dog-killing? Fuck that. I'll bite for zombie-killing, alien-killing, and even people-killing, but dog-killing just crosses the line. I hate killing animals. (In Metal Gear Solid 3 I always went way out of my way to not kill the dogs, and boy was that a pain in the ass.)
Also, I never got into Assassin's Creed. Gameplay aside, the extreme liberties taken with science and history just bug the hell out of me. I like the way Ubisoft is marketing it, though. Better than MW2 with its stupid rap ads.

That's true, especially in the case of a game like Halo, however, the realism was what made CoD so brilliant. The reason we want realism in life-like games like CoD and GTA, is becase we play them to experience that, life, which most of us will never see. If it were unrealistic, it would be harder to suspend our disbelief, ergo we wouldn't be able to immerse ourselves, I don't have this problem, as I easily get into a game or movie, as do most creative people. But for some, it's not so easy.

Okay, maybe the comics and the upcoming anime may be going a bit too far, but as far as the games go, aside from the slight speedbump known as ODST (then again if the price was $40-$50 and had matchmaking, it would have been perfect) the Halo games are well made and fun to play.

I'm not being a fanboy at all, I'm just saying that Halo is milked, and if anyone says it's not, they're in denial. Sure, the SmackDown! vs RAW games and the EA games are obviously rushed to meet annual deadlines, however, people expect that, they expect those games to be sloppy and repetitive. But when you have a franchise like Halo, which has all this hype around it, and a huge fan-base, you need to take time and make the best game possible, instead of scrambling to make a title for each genre

Hey Halo is fantastic, one of the great FPS'. unfortunately, a normal FPS isn't that hard to do, and they usually focus entirely on graphics. L4D is brilliant, now THAT is a good FPS, original, fun, awesome replay value and zombies. I mean, hello? ZOMBIES!

Halo won't get done being milked until all the kids who play it end up growing up and realize it's not the epitome of FPS games. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad series, but there's certainly nothing ground breaking about the trilogy.
Also what the fuck is up with companies having a book being made based on their games these days? There's Halo, Gears of War, Resistance, Resident Evil and now Assassin's Creed. Do these things even sell?

Back in the day there where several novelizations of Super Mario Bro's, Legend of Zelda (Pre & post LttP Days but nothing after OoT) And even Double Dragon books...
None of them sold well at the time of there original publishing but I think that most likely means there highly prized collectibles now...
Even if not though I'd still rather read about SMB then Halo with all due respect to the fans...
