I'm joined the gym months ago and develop a hernia and lifting heavy weights and want to go back but don't know till I get my surgery but I'm not getting it till may 2012 cause the health system over here in Ireland is fucked up should I go back or wait cause it could get worse can it

I was getting my athletic physical and my doctor discovered a small hernia. It kinda scared the crap outa me but now I know what it is and I seem to be fine.

My balls hurt and some Of my the stomach above it. Is this a hernia? I am only 13 years old , but have not expeirienced this before. I was doing some push-ups holding my breath... That is the only thing i can think of that i did. It does not hurt to lie down or do something like that, there is discomfort when i walk, please, can some one get back to me? Oh yeah, i also feel as if i have to pass

Shuld I be worried if my belli hurts after standing up when I been lain down it started to hurt 1 day later after I did some heavy lifting it has happend before and cured it self after a week it only hurts when I crouch or when I'm laying down and turn on my side can I do anything to treat it??? @TheEbonicslover I just had an Inguinal hernia repaired,I have insurance and my share is about $1,700 the rest was close to $17,000 covered by insurance,mostly hospital fees. It really sucks not to have insurance,luckily I am still working and have insurance. I could not go without having the surgery.

@a500603497384 Congratulations and thanks for the info. Now that I don't strain myself as much at work it sort of subsided and don't feel it but I know sooner or later I'll have to deal with it. My chiropractor said he might be able to to treat it if it's not too far gone. He'll have to see it and assess it. Once again thanks and all the best.

-Good advise Doc! --compared to Utube-videos in which doctor$ advise dangerous surgery (ie: slicing you open); -as an Inguinal-hernia can usually be lived with, simply via smaller-meals, loosing-weight to reduce hernia-stress; -and upon feeling swelling & groin-pain, asap 'lay upon your back' 10-30 minutes, letting gravity drain hernia/intestinal-liquids internally, while you gently massage/urge under-skin protruding intestine-loop itself to recede back internally, -then resume mild activities!

I am sure i have a hernia, i have all the symtoms and am 100% sure. I went to the doctor and he was also sure it was a hernia and sent me for an ultrasound scan but this can back clear?!?!?!? Its still hurts every now and then and don't know what else to do?

I went to the clinic because there is a little bump right below my rib cage (It almost looks like my rib is sticking out), but they told me that it is probably a hernia that hasnt pushed all the way through my tissue yet and that I could grow out of it. Is this true? Can you grow out of a hernia?

im not sure if i have a hernia blue balls or epididymitis , my doctor said this could be a hernia also . Antibiotics didn't take the pain away totally. Now my testis just feel wrong and a dull pain comes on sometimes. I need help and i can only see my doctor in a week! i don't want them to die or anything this is terrible!!!!

You really dont have to worry. The only thing that can cause the balls to die, is a ball torsion, and when you have that, you wont think for a second about seeing the doctor, cause thats like "cant move pain". epidimytis the balls need to be red, bigger and painful to touch. Usually pain is a positive thing, because it also means it doesnt involve cancer. Ive been to the doctor as well once, and it is truly understanding why you are so paranoid.

Thanks so much. I have a hernia umbilicalis and am seeing my doctor tomorrow. It really hurts and pulls on the right side of my abdomen, plus the ugly knot by my navel. It will be interesting to see how they handle in since Finland has socialized medicine.

I've worked in the construction industry for 12 yrs and have had a hernia for 3 yrs now.Have been hit hard by the economy and dont have the money to get it fixed.I did some research and they want $5,000 to do the surgery.THAT'S BS!!!!!! Do you have any ideas?!?!?

my left testicle goes inside my pelvis and when it does it looks like inguinal hernia and i have to push it down and it comes down easily.

is that mean that i am developing hernia?

I think I might have a hernia under my sternum beneath the upper right rib, that rib is sticking out farther than the rest and i feel some pain just under the rib when I do certain movements. If it is a hernia would they have to split my ribs in half like they were doing open heart surgery or would they be able to repair it another way? I ask this because it is under that rib.

I thought that every hernia should be removed, didnt know that at some age like 70s or 80s if you are not planning heavy weighting activities then a reparation might not be necessary. Visit Symposier site, different videos on hernia procedures are available, sure will be useful for you.
