I really like this review, and find myself agreeing with a lot of what's said. This book/movie sort of... failed to work. At its base, New Moon was made to bring the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob to a higher level, but that sort of plot isn't very appealing by itself. New Moon's storyline probably would have worked better as a sub-plot for a different book with a stronger main storyline.
