Looks as though I'm a few years late, but this is a good idea. I'm not looking forward to reclaiming my clay but this seems like something I will be trying to make the process a bit more easy!
@CarvinCobalt I'm still around, though not as much. Make sure the wire mesh is stainless. Mine wasn't and I got rust in my clay. Not that it really mattered, though - just got on my nerves :)
@Marihani Oh Marihani!!! You were the one that got me so motivated to do clay!!!!!! I just shared a video reclaiming clay. Someone asked how I did it and remembered where (and who) I learned from...I'll send them here to you! I would so love to see another video from you...please consider making one...pretty please! - Tammy Jo
Enkelt men genialt!
thats the second way to reclaim clay and i really didnt know anything about. i find it really easy and most of all really "Clean" and save some space in comparison with the "classic" way. Thank you! :)
You should know better, where is your face mask?? "dust" is not good for your lungs!!! (We all do it though, me as well) anyway, I've decided that there is no easy way to reclaim, but yours is really good. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it.
I know I should use a mask, but I usually hold my breath when I pour it in and then move away from the cloud. Not as good as a mask, but the lazy woman's way out! Hehe!
Glad I could show this method. Hubby and I figured it out by trial and error and it works fine for me.
No offence, Marihani but your recycle video, makes me wonder why u don't like to rec, way to much work involved! Start out with 3lb tubs with lids, throw your scraps in there evry day pour a lttle thrwing wtr on top each time, stir, leave lid on if ness, when full put in canvas like you do, there you go.
It's like washing tools or dishes I do it practicaly every friday, and wedge on mon.
I think you misunderstood me a little - or I wasn't clear. I don't mind recycling now that I use that method. I use the 10-liter buckets and just chuck the rests in there - open to the air so they dry - until I feel like starting a recycle batch. Very undemanding now that I have figured out "my" system.
I'm so glad I could make your days easier! I also find this a lot less messy, and I don't keep bumping into my clay wandering around the workshop! LOL!
I used to hang pillow-covers as well. But they started ripping after a couple of times' use. With the wire support, this is much easier on the cloth.
I would definitely get a HUGE kick out of making more space for my pottery!! As it is now, I have concrete (litterally) confines and have thoughts but no plans so far. Wouldn't mind a bit of your space - nor the clay I could find in the garden to play with!
So you call that a "small" lump eh:) looked pretty big to me. You should live in Arizona or someplace like that. I think you'd get a kick out of forming your own adobe bricks and building a larger workspace for your pottery:)

@hobbypotter I haven't made a video for YT for years. Will think about showing off my new glazing room and showroom in one.
How wonderful that I was part of your inspiration to clay! Thanks for sharing! I'm off to watch your video now!

Woman !! your notion of "small" is not very "continental" !! your workshop is the size of my apartment !! lol
NB: That shirt looked fine to me !! Common!! admit you were sick of hubby wearing it and you "recycled" it :cP
ThaPolarBear 4 years ago
LOL! Remember - I have seen parts of your appartment. Your living room is at least 2-3 times the size of my dinky workshop.
If I got tired of hubby wearing white shirts, I would be asleep every day of the week! LOL!
It is so very good to "see" you, friend. Drop by on Skype on Monday when I am bored cause hubby isn't home, maybe?
HUGS!

If I'm not on the road, it's a date ;c)
You may even get a two for one deal :cP

Sounds great!
Both of you take care of each other and yourselves, my lovelies!

She's always entangling me in these 'two for one' deals of hers.
At least isn't trying to sell the idea to the man who runs that snack bar in the motorway lay by again. That's usually her notion of a 'date'. -SW
P.S. Speak soon, Mari. ;)

Great, Great Tip Marihani, just to let you know I soooo am going to steal this.... It beats hanging pillow covers all over the studio !!
