Just letting people know, now a Black Arrow counts as a Trap effect so that will set the CD off on all your traps, even though you have less of a chance to proc Lock n Load, with the improving talents it does a ton of damage on its own and increases all damage against your target by 6%, that with Noxious stings therefore a Serpent sting on a target and a Black arrow at the same time, if Lock n Load procs you could see yourself doing about 4k to even sometimes 5k a tick for Explosive Shot.

OH, i forgot, on thaddius it doesn't matter, apply the Immo when you run after polarity change...= PWNT!

... trap dance is shit, couse atm, standing 30 yards away from the target = 6% more damage... and the wasted time where you run in to apply Immo and all that shit, you loose an instant / Steady , which with a 35% crit SHOULD be roughly 4,5k dmg... and using the traps to proc lock and load= waste of Mana and time...+ you ran out of mana, which you wouldn't do in a raid... PWNT!

Something i found useful to tel, but havent read all the coments.

BRK ur not telling all the facts.

When you trap dance, use DISENGAGE when available, to get in distance fast.

If you didn't know ES has an hidden CD, witch is NOT triggered by freezing trap. The downside is that freezing trap does't trigger TNT.

But you can use freezing arrow to stay at distance.

Actually, With proper shot rotation( and I am not talking about the old rotations about weaving it between autoshot, as autoshot casts during other shots..or something along the lines of that) you can achieve a much higher DPS rating then BM and MM. With trap dancing, incorporated in there too.

the best lving spec is still by far BM, and use a bear or gorilla to gather 3-5 mobs and use volley to burn them down, or explosive traps until u get volley.

It's to space out your explosive shots so you don't clip the last tick of it. Explosive shot has a 1.5 second global with a 2 second dot (when it hits). Regardless of range, you will be clipping (losing) the last tick of the explosive shot - about a third of your damage. There's a few different ways to prevent clipping, the most fool-proof way is to weave in another shot (no longer than 1.5 sec) between each explosive. IE: Explosive - Serpent Sting - Explosive - Multi Shot - Explosive. CONT

CONT - The other option is to time your explosives to be 2 seconds after each other. This is most useful if your range isn't changing, since flight time of the shot is *VERY* important and needs to be consistent. 2 seconds (or global + 0.5 seconds) is enough time between Explosive Shots to prevent clipping. SO while you think its better to go in to trap because it "never" procs off serpent sting PLEASE read the rest of that talent point that says "This cannot happen more than once in 30 seconds." SO while you think trapping is the only reason its proccing is because it has the same length cd as your trap. SO give your serpent sting a chance and save the time running inand out

I still don't like trap dancing. I don't think hunters should be forced to run into mele range. Mages, warlocks and other ranged classes don't. I think if they actually gave the SV a decent 41 point talent, maybe something that would let you fire ANY trap at range, then I would try it.

In a raid you have to control the pulls, I mean if you have to Frost trap, u can't make that. Or if u got targets sapped or something, using multi-shot Is suicidal..

TBH certain fights took quite a lot of skill as a BM. Particularly fights with very hard hitting AoE's. As BM you had to ensure the survival of your pet while making sure he could hit the boss as much as possible. Now as SV I don't feel as much emphasis is put on the pet. It can still do 1k DPS w/ buffs on simple fights, but nothing compared to BM. BM trades shot variety for increased pet DPS, which stresses the urgency of carefully managing and keeping your pet alive.

It's all about timing your feign death correctly and giving your tank enough time to grab enough aggro. Because SV hunters are all about critting, and its grabs a whole lot of aggro. Oh, and throw in a few misdirects, that helps too.
