You know, even compared to Android and iOS, I think GNOME 3 is already pretty much ready for tablets. I didn't think it was possible something could be so well adapted to touch AND desktop use. Of course, the touch-only settings that they're planning will make it much quicker and less burdensome to run GNOME 3 on a tablet.
With XInput 2.2 and kinetic scrolling coming to GTK, I think GNOME 3 will be a very flexible solution for tablets. It's too bad the hardware available to us is so limited.
schönes Video. Bist du evtl. in der Wetab Community aktiv??
Ich heiße dort NilsConrad. Könntest du mich evtl. Pn´nen?
Ich hätte da ein paar FRagen, bezüglich der Pogramme, die du installiert hast. Für 2 Finger scrollen, Pinch to zoom usw. . Wenn nicht kannst du ja hier in deine Beschreibung schreiben, welche Pogramme installiert sind.
Here's a question. If I decided to purchase one of these and install 11.10, is there a way to remove the onscreen keyboard with a button instead of just having it block the whole screen?
Awesome! Thank you! It's looking more and more like I want Ubuntu on a tablet with Gnome-shell. I don't feel Unity is completely ready to be used as a tablet interface just yet. Seeing that the buttons are so small.
@joeserin1 Actually, there are a lot of options. You can for example set it to resize the app to half of the screen when you want to tipe and on the other half the keyboard to appear and after you hide the keyboard the app resizes to it's initial size.
does it support multi touch ?

@iTailsTheStunter
In the final version of Ubuntu 11.10, another onscreen keyboard, caribou, is used.
It fades in an also out, when it is not used.
And you can hide it, with a button, like this one, too

Und wenn man einen Toaster hat, kann man darauf NetBSD installieren.
Sogar mit Tatsch, nur verbrennt man sich die Finger.
