I have this PSU in my main rig, and it works great. It's pushing 2 GTX 460's, and a quad-core CPU, no problems at all.
Like any PSU tho, there are some faulty ones. One time I had a PC Power & Cooling psu that turned out to be bad (+12v was way out of spec, reading was 12.5v at idle), and it killed my 8800 GTS. Good thing that both things were still under warranty at the time. PC Power & Cooling are one of the top-best psu makers.
@TGSHokuto Yeah, a 650w should handle two Radeon 6850's just fine, as long as you don't do any heavy overclocking on your CPU or the cards themselves.
@TGSHokuto also, look on Google for "extreme power supply calculator", it will help. Not sure how accurate it is, it said I only need 505w for what I am running (dual GTX 460 SE 1GB's in SLI). Newegg's psu calculator said 750w, which I am currently running.
i got this power supply don't buy you should only max this psu at 450w or it is unstable and is slowly braking your system, its loud and shit please don't buy.
@supervitallica I've seen your comment three times on several videos and all you're doing is giving smack about the PSU. It doesn't sound like an *Aeroplane* Its, quite and cool, you just have a fucked up one.
@byModern all the reviews are good on youtube but on the websites most of them are negative about the sound. If you buy one it's good but i'm warming people to not to buy this PSU.
@supervitallica Not entirely true, I've seen reviews on forums and 98% of them are all good except the con of it not being modular and having way to many wires. I'm still getting it though for my rig and If it fucks up, Ill send it back for a different PSU and say sorry to you.
@byModern maybe i have i bad PSU but i wouldn't buy it anymore. in many reviews there is nothing said about noise and stability of the voltages. checkt this review out (search in googe "Cooler Master GX 750W noise" pick the third one out.
corsair power are better i think. my old 600w corsair power is really silent. I current own a Cooler Master GX 750W Powersupply and it's noise. All my temps for cpu is 55° and gtx570 is 63° with 60% fan speed and Cooler Master GX 750W is still loud and noise >.>
I recommend getting something else. I think i need a Corsair Power supply :(
hey man, im planning on getting this power supply but im not sure if the power cable is long enough for my haf x case. What do you think?? Would it be long enough?
Yeah so just got this with my HAF X....don't get the PSU if you don't have the extensions, both my 24 pin and 4 pin dont reach if i want it cable managed...heck im just happy that i got the build done. anyway 50 pounds worth of NZXT extentions coming up
@TheMaristBoy it can run the two 560 tis (getting one myself) but not sure about the 4.4 ghz, probs 4gz
but to be honest thats a monster build, please please PLEASE! get a HX 850 corsair, or if you wnat to be future proof (i have a feeling that you will be upgrading) get the new HX 1050 i think its coming out soon, its a massive overkill, but you have massive headroom
overall a 850 watt will do fine, but consider a higher wattage for future upgrades, you seem you have the money :P
Can I have someones Advice! My cheap 750W PSU died within 2 months use (surprise, Surprise! -_-) I'm looking for a New PSU that's decent (80plus Certified), and I want enough Wattage for it to Power my specs properly: AMD phenom II x4 955 (3.2ghz) ASUS M4A79XTD EVO motherboard corsair dominator 4gb (1600MHz) XFX ATI 5770 360gb HDD currently using a Crappy old 350Watt PSU windows 7 Ultimate (64bit)
Is this a good product?? Might be buying it in 3 weeks for a crossfire set-up but people keep saying psu's should only be bought from companies like antec, fsp, corsair, etc.
@shootout52 fsp is garbage in my opinion and so is corsair, antec are pretty decent. Cooler master has been making PSU's a long time and I have never had one go bad or produce incorrect voltages even under full load.
@stuart38 with games that support SLI, you will typically get 2X the performance (makes sense as your running 2 graphics cards),
i just had a look at some benchmarks then, and crysis on 1680X1050, DX10 and high settings was getting 42 fps, which is highly impressive for 2 budget cards, and you could get even higher fps if you lower the resolution and lower the other settings
@liam666cob I have had 3 in customers computers go bad and 2 that had bad fan noise out of the box and I am not talking about low end psu's here this is the 750w+ models that cost the big bucks. I don;t like corsair especially their memory. The only reason they have been doing well the past few years is because they are cheap and tiger puts their crap in everything.
@OverclockersHQ just because you have had a few bad experiences with them doesnt make their psus crap ive had bad experiences with asus motherboards and kingston ssd's but asus clearly arent a crap brand and kingston are good too. you can't just say a brand is crap just because youve seen a few bad psu's. ive had a number of corsair power supplies and I know a lot of people that have corsair power supplies and ive never heard a bad thing about any of them
@liam666cob True but they have never been a good brand since they started. They only just started in the past year using better caps for their psu's and their memory has never performed as good as mushkin. crucial, ocz, or even kingston so that is what makes them crap. also they are cheaper than everyone else...that is what makes them crap...
@OverclockersHQ FSP no good?? They're one of the oldest PSU makers. I have a 400w Sparkle (same as FSP) psu powering a system with a geforce gts 250, and core2duo w/ 2gb of ddr2. The videocard recommended 450w, but this particular 400w psu actually performs more like a 450-475w psu. I've load tested it, using DMM too, and it's a very strong PSU. It was cheap, too.
I'm using a CM GX-750w in my main gaming rig tho, and no complaints here. :) Great power supply.
@RalphCQ FSP has made some good psu's but ToPower makes (as a whole) better psu's for: OCZ, TAGAN, Raidmax, dynapower, (Some) coolermaster, spire, vantec, and hipro. FSP Has done some antec, zalman, silverstone, etc... Seasonic makes Corsaire to be honest I would take the fsp psu's over the seasonic. FSP is OEM so when they make psu's for Antec, Antec isn't going to accept an inferior products so yes Antec PSU's are good but most of them are built by HEC not FSP HEC Makes: TT, Powercolor etc...
@OverclockersHQ * So if you are looking for a good psu go for a HEC or topower not seasonic or fsp, Or Seven team (Which is FSP sometimes as well)....in my personal opinion.
@OverclockersHQ Cooler Master and ThermalTake have some bad psu's, even OCZ does too. But they do make good ones too.
Raidmax used to not be good, but I think they started making good power supplies not too long ago. Best Buy has an in-house power supply called RocketFish, which is not even a reputable brand for psu's (they mostly make flash memory products, like thumb drives and memory cards), but even they make a 500w power supply that's very good. :)
@GamerAndReviewer yes but you would be pushing it to the max.. I would get a 850w or a 950w psu to be sure.
you can use 750w because its not very common that you use all your components 100%, but make sure it is a good brand like coolermaster, antec, corsair etc.
@Dihan22 corsair is loads better. they are made by OEM Seasonic which is a top notch company. Apart from that according to that coolermaster PSU makes use of middle quality capacitors that had some bad stories about them, which support just up to 85 Celsius unlike the 105 Celsius other quality brands use. Do not skim when it comes to the PSU cos you'll regret it if it fails and takes other components with it ;)

@RalphCQ Hows the noise of the psu?? Thats the number one thing everyone complains about these GX power supplies from Cooler master
TGSHokuto 2 months ago
@TGSHokuto Well, under load, my videocards definitely drown out whatever noise it makes.
All I can say is, it's decently quiet, but if you want one that's really quiet look elsewhere.
