talley is a very diffrent drummer which is great, i hate just hearing the same blast beat over and over on every section of music. I'm a guitarist but kevin's drumming got me into paying attention to drum patterns and and to how a great and diverse drummer like Talley can make the simpleist of riff's sound unbelieveable. plus it's cool that my favorite drummer and favorite guitarist are in the same band Daath, Emil is amazing. great guitar teacher.

One of my favorite drummers...up there with Lars, Joey Jord, Vinne, David Silveria... Andols, All Shall Perish's drummer, but the best drummer of all time... Terry Bozzio... not for speed...but the guys makes music with drums... with 50 toms... over 60 symbols... 14 kickers... I mean damn...how do you even play it like him...never heard of him...check out his drum solo in the song "I will protect you" by KoRn amazing work.

You play a techy solo at a modern drummer festival... For thousands of drunk metal heads it's better to play a fun solo they can groove to because they are just there to have a good time... not to analyze 5/8 and 7/8 or whatever time sigs.

No need to laugh. Just because its not death metal or whatever, doesnt mean its not difficult. Progressive music is known for its odd time signatures. If you havent had any music classes, or studied it at anytime you probably have no clue what im talking about. Most of the heavy stuff is just a really fast 2/4, or a 4/4 (which is what most drummers start out learning)...so speed isnt everything
