  • do any of those connectors go a graphics card ? i just bought a GPU and new PSU, so im going to install them together, and what order should it be done ? PSU first then GPU or vice versa ? thanks.

  • 1 question, Will this Delete Any Memory?

  • @DynamicVonn why would it

  • @DynamicVonn No, no it won't. The power supply has nothing to do with the Hard Drive and it's data.

  • i just installed my new power supply and when i go to turn on the computer .it just blinks a blue light for 5 seconds .the fan did start as soon as it turned on but then turned off quick. what is wrong. help! please .

  • are all power supply's the same??

  • @RobboSystems no, you should get a popular brand power supply, and they all have different wattage

  • if you do buy a new power supply that has more power consumption than your previous one, will it damage anything because i have a crappy 250W and i want a 400 or higher watt.

  • @dewalt607 No the computer will pull what it needs and that is it. Most video cards built for gaming require 400 watts or better.

  • @dewalt607 no, it wont

  • Question: Can you buy a power supply that is too powerful? Or would the components just pull the power it needs?

  • I. Bought a new power supply. I did everything u said on the video just one problem the one with four whole I can't find it and I need help with that one email at 3201alex@gmail.com thanks

  • @MrAlex2282 IF you talking about the last one you won't find it because if your computer is new or recent then it won't use it. It is for older model hard drives and cd-rom drives.

  • lool isnt this the music used ofr roosterteeth. oh great vid btw

  • where do I but the PF

  • will any power supply fit any computer????

  • So when you plug in the PSU to the MB, you just match up the cables to the socket thingys?

  • @allu771 Correct

  • dude you saved me a fucking SHIT LOAD of time thank and i love you no homo bro :D

  • Thanks for the vid man.. very helpful.

  • Very informative for beginners like myself. Thanks a lot mate.

  • do all those wires come with the new power supply

  • Is the image flipped.. or does your pc open on the right.. ?

  • I have the same case and I'm trying to replace my 300 watt for 450-500 watt psu to actaully FIT in my computer

I need it to run gtx 550ti anysuggesrions

  • i got the screws undone but i cant seem to slide the power supply out. any idea why?

  • what computer so you have? i think i might have the same one.

  • lol my computer case is strikingly similar to this XD

  • liked- faved - helped alot :)

  • LOOK BELOW

    JK I DONT

  • I have the exact same computer

  • Your computer looks like one from 1900 :D anyways.. Good tutorial :) !!!

  • The Power supply u are using , exploded in my pc when i pushed that red button...

  • thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank uuuuuuuuuuu sooooooooooooo macu

    i loooooooooooooooove u ammmmmmmoaaaaaaaah

  • I'm sending this to my mom to have her replace her PC's PSU on her own... if she succeeds then it's proof positive that your video is awesome!

  • I have a Custom PC I built

AMD Phenom X4 956 (4 GHZ) Black Edition (3.4 GHZ without overclock)

    Zotac GTX 550 ti

    8GB RAM

    1TB HDD

    400 watt diablotek PSU

ever since I installed the New Graphics Card the GTX 550 Ti the computer and played a game the computer randomly shut off and i cant turn it on again is it because my power supply doesn't support enough power to run my system or is it because my power supply is broken?

  • @TheJilani94 its def your power supply get 500+ for that card

  • @TheJilani94 your graphics card is demanding a pretty big power supply. google your graphics card and it will say it needs 300w of your power supply

  • @TheJilani94 you need to get a more powerful power supply, i recommend a 600-700 watt supply. i have similar specs and the website said i needed at least 533 watts plus 20% lee-way.

  • very well done

  • Nice! I hope this will gonna help me because tomorrow, this will be our activity to intro to computer maintenance ^_^

  • i installed my new psu but my computer wont turn on

  • how about for the video card?

  • @feubarkada Depends if it needs extra power from your psu. Smaller ones can just run from the PCI port. Most ower supplies have extra 6 pin power cables that you plug into the card.

  • @imomochii hey.. If your psu still make tgose sounds, it could be caused by the psu not running properly.. If this eror occasionally occurs, then you shoud open your desktop and replace the psu with another one.. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK THE VOLTAGE FOR UR CURRENT PSU and PURCHACE ANOTHER WITH THE SAME or MORE watts.

  • Thanks a lot man, Appreciate it.

  • If my power supply is going bad could it be causing my computer to restart?

  • thanks bro

  • thank you so much! I am clueless when it comes to these stuff. -- You made me realize what I did wrong. lol.

btw, The PSU wires in my case looks kinda messed up. like the wires are all over the place.. is that ok? I mean i tried fixing it, but it's just the best that I could do. but it still looks messed up. @@ (and it doesnt help how small it is in there) would that damage the cpu/gfx card (whatever is in there) in any way? Sorry to sound so stupid lol. but i dont wanna break anything D:

  • hey i am using a acer aspire pc but i keep getting stuck at the acer startup screen pls help!! T_T

  • hi when i put the 4 pin connector in to my pc i dont workv why :???

  • Are U an Indian..???

  • @MrBairav i can guess that you are 12yo

  • @ReadThisDerp why are U saying this..???

  • @MrBairav because there are a lot more brown skinned races than indians

  • @ReadThisDerp whatever, Ur video was helpful in installing my power supply....thx

  • @MrBairav i never stated the video was bad or that i can make a better one

  • @ReadThisDerp neither do I

  • damn i installed a new psu, and one of the wires got burned, ill follow this tutorial hope it works.

  • @proximaism Awesome! hope its of some kind of help!

  • @thetechsview My new PSU just came in and I barely took it out of the wrapper. Is there anything I should do before installing it? I don't have a PSU tester, is it a huge deal if I don't test it before installing it? Can it destroy my computer if there is something wrong? It's a Corsair 650w TX

  • @thetechsview how the fuck is that awesome

  • @proximaism

Did it work with this tutorial?

  • Looks easy but plugging the cords to the different parts of the CPU seems confusing.

  • My computer has a small case, Its the acer x3200 aspire if you want to see it on google, it came with a 250 watt power supply, could put a 400 watt one in? and could someone recommend a graphics card that would fit that case as well. It came with a shitty nivida 9200.

  • have this exact probelm ill be hitting this vid back up later thanks

  • I have a question?(PLEASE RESPOND)

doesn't the graphic card need a connector or does that just go into ones of those slots and be done. I would also like to ask how can you tell the difference between the cd drive connector and hard drive connector. I am new so thanks

  • @gamer141235 some more powerful graphics cards need to be plugged in with a separate cable from the power supply, but other weaker ones just take power from the motherboard

  • I have a question?(PLEASE RESPOND)

doesn't the graphic card need a connector or does that just go into ones of those slots and be done. I would also like to ask how can you tell the difference between the cd drive connector and hard drive connector. I am new so thanks

  • I love computers! Do you?

  • @Kbeck94 STFU

  • Thank you, this was clear and helpful.

  • hi, may I ask a question? I just bought a new power supply for my new graphic card, I am trying to install them by myself. Your video gave me the basic idea how to install the power supply, thank you, but, when I get to install the graphic card, I noticed that there were two cables come with the card. the card is GTX460, I don't know if I should use them or they are useless? I know how to plug in the graphic card, is that all I need to do? Thanks!

  • Hey bro, I am getting a Enermax FMA II 460W. Does this PSU have the connector to connect to the 4850 GPU.

  • He didn't mention the graphics card

  • About to replace my PSU tomorrow, thanks for this video.

  • is that a high end powers supply or a cheap one? I dont know because looks can be deceiving

  • @fruitbowl32 It looks like a cheap one. I am not sure how many watts it is but yeah. if its in a factory built computer its not going to be that amazing.

  • THE MOTHERBOARD CONNECTOR WONT BUDGE. im about to take a knife and pry it out because im yankin it my hardest and pushing down the tab with my the my hardest. PLEASE HELP

  • Looks very easy . Good job. But what about getting shocked or static electricty?

  • This helped a bit more than other videos as the components were in the case

  • @xPloSiVgT Thanks!

  • is this a hp pavillion a6710sc ? whats the mobo and does it support pci-e im stupid enuff to not have found out that yet i have a computer like this so =/

  • do i really need antistatic gloves? or will rubber gloves do the same?

  • Is your psu in thiss video a 300 watt?

  • Perfect same computer same steps :)

  • WTF this is my same computer

  • Much better than TigerDirectBlog, he's speaking way to fast for me to hear :)

  • @SLIPKNOTSTUFFNO1 Thanks. My only objective is to be of help.

  • @thetechsview If I get a new PSU for my computer do I need to take anything into account? What I mean is, are some PSU's bigger than others and may not fit into certain desktop cases or is it a "one size fits all" kind of thing?

  • Is this an Hp Pavilion¿? Because my computer's inside looks identical to yours =P

  • @PacoBeanZ Yes it is :)

  • @thetechsview finally!! an hp video!!

  • @thetechsview im actually glad you have a Hp Pavilion seems like im not the only one and it will be wayyyy easier to follow your steps :)

  • @PacoBeanZ lol same question i just bought a new pavilion and its identicaly constructed

    sorry for soudning nerdy

  • i have a dimension e510 ,and a 305w max output power supply , do i need to get the same one or could i get a power supply with a bigger watage ?

  • Do most psu plug into the mobo with that 4 pin power cable.

  • thank you your video had to be the easiest to under stand ,my computer is working again

  • is this pc a hp?

  • It's very simple, unplug everything connected to the power supply, unscrew the power supply and then take it out, then do the opposite to put it back in.

  • That must be a HP case, because the inside looks exactly how mine looks :P

  • Also, tyvm for the tips. I plan on buying a 500W power supply, since the graphics card that i want to buy requires me to have atleast 400W. Kinda lame that they're so expensive.(to me at least, a total of $130 for both).

  • Thanks! You explained everything very well. I was wondering where i was suppose to put the damn thing o.O turns out, i gotta take the one i have out lol

  • thx!

  • wow dude thank you so much.. realy helped me thanx again

  • Thank you man I was looking for a good vid that explains slowly how to hook it up and not make it complicated. Thank you very much I just purchased a 500w power supply and hopefully I can apply what I learned here to when I get ready to put it in.

  • 6:53 i believe thats a Male end of an adapter

  • Omg Bro!! I know the Video is Old or What Ever But This Really FReaking Helped ME!!

Considering That My Same Exact Comper Right There...... Hp ? Right lololol

Before i was clueless but now i got i tall thnx make more vidz!!

  • So i have a old computer with win xp OS a 100 watt power supply.

The pc is really slow so i added another 1 gig ram stick an then the screen flickers like it cannot handle that much is this because i have weak power supply??

Or is it because the MB cannot handle it??

  • @curtissparker If the screens flickering, it's probably the Power Supply.

Unless you didn't make sure the MoBo and the RAM are compatible.. then that could be the problem.....

  • what's the computer model? mines an hp pavilion a6228x.

  • stupid indian in future shop offered to install a GPU and PSU for 100$. cheap fucker said it'll take 2 hours to install PSU and its hard to install GPU. (I refused). Lol

  • I already knew how to change a power supply but anyway, nice vid man!

  • WOW! your video helped my big brother with his power thingy magig lol thanks for the help

  • hi this vid, really gave me an idea how to replace my power supply I just have a few question & I hope you could help me with that. My system unit was stocked for almost 3years because i broke it, like the problem was on the power supply. I haven't checked if it still functioning. My main concern is, does the motherboard & other stuffs still in great condition or should I bring it to a repair shop & let them check it first.

    A million thanks ;))

  • @Nerak88ful Awesome! Glad I could help!!

  • @thetechsview I left my PC on for quite a few weeks straight. I turned it off for a night and the next day it wouldnt start up. Just dead, no power. Im assuming the power supply is fried right?

  • that's a HP! like mine!

  • @SpicyHam mine's like that too...but only the chassis XD

  • @SpicyHam Mine's like too but... only the chassis XD XD XD

  • Very nicely detailed video! Makes installing a power supply a snap! Saves us money on installation!

  • thanks man....really good explanations....it doesn't look that hard after watching this

  • @negrolvera Thanks, subscribe!

  • @thetechsview hey can you help me? im gonna buy a graphics card and i want to know what i have to do, oh and also im buying a 600watt power supply...how do i do it to make all this work? do you have a video already on how to do this or can you make one for me xD

  • Dude... you REALLY helped me out and made me feel more comfortable to do this myself. I hate stumbling into something I know nothing about. After watching your video I felt prepared and did the installation flawlessly!! Thanks.

  • @silentdreamer821 Thanks, subscribe!

  • lol what a craptastic power supply. anyway, pretty good advice... but recommending watts is useless, most psu companies label their peak wattage, not their sustained wattage(antec, corsair, and silverstone dont, ocz and coolermaster sometimes do). Always look at the 12v amps. My 380w antec has 27, many "500 watt" psus have less. if price isn't an issue, get a corsair, but if your on a tight budget, coolermaster and ocz might be a good choice... outervision's "psu calculator" is also good.

  • awsome you have the same pc as me

  • well, i un-scvrewed all the screws but the power supply seems to be stuck, ive tried pushing it out but it just wont come out, can you help me?

  • @oTheDudeOo Check for handles on the side. On some you have to pull the PS strait back and then down. It's hard without knowing what type of computer you have. Sub

  • @thetechsview ok, i subbed, and btw i have a compaq presario sr2192 uk abd p5lp motherboard. this is reay really annoying me and im startng to think that its NOT possible to take off my power supply unit.

  • @oTheDudeOo I looked up that model number (presario sr2192) and im not finding that model on the compaq website. Any product number or serial number?

  • @thetechsview sorry, that was a typo, the model number is a SR2129 UK. and has the ASUS P5LP - LE motherboard. also, other than i cant get the battery out, i cant get my g-card out eaither, because i bought a ati 4870 and i want to put both the g card and PSU in the current mobo i have because i cant be bothered to buy a new one and spend an extra 100 pounds. thanks.

  • Hey i wonder if we have the same mother board and case.

    Case a6603w

    Motherboard Faxconn napa

Im wondering because im upgrading to a video card and i need to up grade the power supply and im wondering if it would fit :) plz comment back

  • @TheMrMeff The only problem you run into on PS is if your case is normal or slim. If your case is normal sized, the you can use a regular sized PS. If your case is slim, then you have to find a slim PS. Hope that helps. Sub

  • thankyou, this really helped i needed this for my power supply to help my new graphics card. and it helped

  • @xananadu glad we could help..make sure to subscribe if you already haven't.

  • do you need to plug stuff for the fans?

  • @lolnannners usually the fans plug in strait to the motherboard, but on some fans they have connections that go to the power supply. Subscribe!

  • Nice video man. I don't think my power has a 6 pin power supply for a graphics card. Whats a good power supply to run my card? I think it needs a min of 500 W

  • good

  • @marcx97 Thanks! More videos to come soon! Subscribe to be notified when I post new videos ;)

  • itsmemorhies has the same theme song

  • Thanks....

  • Excellent video. I've had problems with my computer shutting off at random and I have been told it's likely the PSU. With this video, I think I can purchase one and install myself. The PSU you removed looks pretty much like mine (I have an eMachine). The only problem is that I can't find where to rate this video to give it five stars.

  • @bostonsportsrule Youtube has removed the Rating feature and has substituted it with the "Like" Feature. Just hit the Like button. Also subscribe!

  • ***** very good tutorial..

  • @Patriotistis Thanks! Don't forget to subscribe. More tips and tricks to come!

  • im ganna need one when i upgrade graphics. i think about getting a 400W or 450w if i can find one. are the one under 100$ last for at least 2 years or more???

  • @fmjr10 well i've had mine for about 2 years now at 550w power supply that i bought for $120 canadian.

  • Hello. I'm looking to install that a graphics card that has a minimum 450W power supply requirement. If I get a 450W power supply, will I have enough power to power my graphics card and all my other components, or should I get a power supply with more watts?

  • @arglechewyshoe Well really you have to know that the graphic card recommends that because it's comparing with other parts etc. The graphic card doesn't actually use 450w of power and if it did then people would need 1000w power supplies. I suggest you though getting a 550w power supply just to be safe or around 600w power supply if you ever want to upgrade

  • Hi ive had an old computer in the corner of my room for abotu 2 years now it had a nakerd power supply and i tried to fix it but it never worked. I decided to try and fix it again now and watched this tutorial but the power supply it used was an old style that only has the connectors you said are only on old computers. What would i do if i wanted to buy a new power supply for it?

  • techsview- thank you for this video. i had to replace my power supply but was really confused about the wiring until you showed me that i didnt need to worry about certain wires. thanks for making it so easy and thanks for making it free:)

  • @mblank7686 we need more people like you in this world :). Do me a favor and subscribe if you already haven't. More videos to come.

  • Hey dude.

I have a Radeon HD 512 mb graphic card and an Intel Core 2Quad 2,66GHz processor, I'm using a 400W power supply, do you think that's enough? (Btw I'm using 5 fans, if that has anything to say)

    PLEASE REPLY! <3

  • @Gvenge With those specs it seems like your using all your 400W. I would advise you upgrade to a 600W-700W. If this was helpful..sub

  • when you put in a new power supply do you have to install or update anything when you turn your computer back on

  • @NuggetBlubber No you don't, the power supply only supplies power..just so the machine will turn on

  • @thetechsview how to choose one?

  • god damit now I dont only need to upgrade to a better graphics card but a better power supply it never ends with computers

  • @NuggetBlubber Tell me about it

  • Comment removed

  • @NuggetBlubber Yeah, i just bought a secon GTX 285 to use it with SLI... I testet out how much watts my system needs and added the max W of my new card. It was enough so I thought I just had to buy an sli bridge... later I saw that my Power Supply has enough watts, but it has only 2 6+2-Pin-PEG-connectors... I now need 4. And there goes the money, now I need a 950W power supply...

  • @Blackbullet92 in the end after all the money and stress you put into these things there not even worth it

  • @NuggetBlubber yap...
