Well, it depends on alot of things. You have to practise alot. When i had more time, i practiced gutar 4 - 6 hours a day. But i didnt play some boring scales or only one solo or only one song for 4 hours.

i made a playlist on winamp and played along the songs, sometimes i repeated some songs more then once. And by playing along to them i leared all the notes and riffs. And when you do that 30 hours a week, it gets into your blood and hands and fingers.

i can tell you that he played it in a more complicated way than Dave usually plays live. the middle part is 4/3 times faster, i believe. plus the pinches give me chills)
