What I don't get about those movies is why they didn't just reanimate the whole thing to modern standards. They had (at least very nearly) the whole voice cast back and they went to the effort of reanimating parts, so why not just do the whole thing? It would've looked great and not to mention it would've flowed a lot better visually...
@SpecialAgentRavage hmm... movies are like combining the episodes together which summarizes everything back together while reanimating the series would give a clear image of what really happens but it would take a longer time and by reanimating everything is troublesome
@gundamroxz No see what I mean is keep the format of the compilation trilogy but at least go to the trouble of reanimating the who trilogy, not so much reanimating and rereleasing the full series, which would take one heck of a long time.
Also I *really* hope these movies come out english dubbed. I don't mind the japanese cast, but I love the dub too.
@SpecialAgentRavage I believe they are English dubbed, I see them at Suncoast all the time. But since I have Zeta Gundam already I don't get them even though the reanimation looks amazing.
@GirGasm They are subbed, not dubbed, i got all 3 of them. Its a little odd, seeing the 80's style animation combined with a more modern style, but it is very well done.
@TheEyeballeater this version is a condensed down version of the whole series and the old graphics are just remastered these new graphics appear manly in the Gundam battles
Somebody banned me from commenting on his videos relating to SEED and SEED Destiny because I called them shallow rip-offs of 0079 and Zeta (which they are) XD.
lol I love this show mainly because Kamille's tantrums, they always made me laugh. I could see clearly when I watched this for the first time that SEED Destiny tried to imitate this series (Just like SEED imitated 0079), but Destiny was absolute crap and Shinn is the quintessential man-bitch. They should have never remade the first two Gundam series in the form of SEED and Destiny. Now there is a generation of Gundam fans that think SEED is the best while they don't even know about 0079 and Zeta
i have to say gundam z is my favorite of all time i've seen gundam zz, gundam wing, gundam 00, gundam 0083 and the very first gundam series and of all of them i prefer gundam z and kamille is the strongest newtype of them all!!
I know they made the movies but seeing how they are going to animate Origin, I really think they should refresh Zeta and ZZ. especially ZZ it needs less stupidity and more Neo Zeon kicking ass.
You all have such valid points of the gundam series. It seems I myself am impressed. People act like they understand what gundam is about or which is better,but cant put up an arguement or explain what they mean. I myself cant say which is the best,because they are all great to me. They each are a bit different and have thier own greatness to them. Well, sorry if i got in the way or anything.
What upsets me is that in ZZ the good pilots in the gundams get replaced. For example Hyaku Shiki is piloted by Beecha but it was actually piloted by Quattro. Gundam MK-ll was piloted by Emma but now Elle. The worst of all Roux pilots Zeta which actually belongs to Kamille. That makes me feel sad its just like Obama giving his job to Justin Bieber anyone agree?
@lemmehaviet Although I would agree with Elle and Beecha, I think Roux is a pretty exceptional pilot. She may not have the badassness of Kamille, but she showed SOME good piloting abilities. I thought Beecha piloting the Hyaku Shiki was a bad joke.
@DrunkenSin I have nothing against Roux, but I don't think Judau's girlfriend should be piloting the previous lead gundam. But truly I don't care cause it makes things interesting. Kamille always hated being called a girl and his Gundam is being piloted by one, if Amuro, Char, or Kamille knew about this they would retaliate against Captain Bright. ( I have nothing against female's piloting robots)

@lemmehaviet maybe but probably cause of the weight of the 2 gundams. zeta's max weight is 62 metric tons. While wing zero's max weight is unknown, it's weight without it's weapons is 8 metric tons. But because of WZ's unknown max weight, the only thing I would say is that they're equally fast. I compared their weights on MAHQ and WZ still has that stupid fight point specs stuff. So bottom line, because of that, I say their equally fast.
@frozenhiphop09 Personally speaking...I think those seed fans are hositle to other series because they have been attacked so many times for liking seed. Thus they strike back at other Gundam series...which only increases the cycle. One of the reasons why AGE is getting so much hate, because finally the GUndam Seed fans (and others) can attack another series that looks worse then Seed. Which is exactly what is wrong with the Gundam fanbase these days...sigh...I have been around too long...

It was Victory Gundam and one of the last epsiodes...I didn't understand a word of what was going on, but I saw awesome action and ALOT of death. Hahaha, I had never seen that before in a cartoon and I was hooked. Man I miss toonami...
@ronnor001 I've been a gundam fan since 2003 so that means I watched seed before all the series. I was defending the show because I saw my friends hating on it. Then I realized after they told me how the fanbase is horrible and I watched Gundam Wing, and the originals after. So I just felt so sad that SEED was a downfall.
@lemmehaviet Hey now. Don't change your opinion simply because some people hated Seed. Here I will say it, I personally liked Seed and Destiny. Now. Are they perfect and are they the best thing out there? No. But they did what they set out to do and brought in a new generation of Gundam fans. Besides, Seed's fanbase is far from horrible. UC fans are just as bad and immature as Seed fans. Just look at the top rated comment in this video and see what I mean.
Whoa, this is quite well done. I want to go watch the Zeta movies now...but ah, must stay strong, still working my way through the UC timeline (halfway through ZZ at the moment). But yeah, I'm kinda disappointed in the new Gundam trailer too...then again, I haven't given up hope yet, it at least deserves a few episodes before I condemn it
Not the novel version, The Origin manga will be getting animated. Unfortunately, Sunrise has no idea if they want to do a TV series or give it the movie treatment at this time (heard it straight from them at the Gundam panel at AX 2011)
the UC series is much better than the after war - cosmic era cuz there are less romance in them (gundam seed has the most romance in the series) but gundam 00 was an awesome series
In terms of qualities of animation, this theatrical release of Zeta Gundam is still better than Gundam Unicorn. It's really a shame that we don't get such qualities these days anymore...

@Amurutimate so similar that it received so many negative feedbacks because seed is not original by means of it's storyline and it even more a disappointment because of having it a sequel. so it's not worthy of making it being called a "modern" type of UC. it's a relief when the other gundam series today didn't come from the UC storyline

@RakManX8 Not to burst your bubble but original;y 0079 wasn't successful at all when it first aired. It wasn't till Zeta gundam in 1985 where Gundam really got its fame it has today. Though I agree today 0079 is quite successful. However everybody still has their preference of which series they like better. Everybody has an opinion. But if you are a true Gundam Fan then you will love every series regardless if some are better then others.
yes, and too much romance, which ruins the Gundam experience, That's why I like Heero and Setsuna better, and Kamille as well, though Zeta has too much romance on it, it has many lessons, and has a very deep story. SEED was made for mature ones, it's all about fanservice, and it's too brutal, though 00 and Zeta were quite tragic, it is not to the extent like that of SEED that as if it was made to just show all about maturity
@RakManX8 ill agree that fan service dose ruined anime and was pretty brutal but gundam seed was trying to show how f up war is, they killed off a lot of characters like those 3 girls to show how bad that final battle was and no one was safe, hence why kira i so anti war in destiny. all the gundam anime do show people dying but since they are incase in a giant robot you can kinda forget that human are in them.
of course I know that, Gundam 00 and Zeta showed that as well, but how about that scene when Kira and Flay had sex? That sucks you know, and after flay died, Kira just replaced her with Lacus, I hate characters whose lives are focused on love, however, Lockon Stratos' love story was different, and i like it. but Kira, he is much like Judau Ashta, they're stupid.

Kamille always hated being called a girl and his Gundam is being piloted by one, if Amuro, Char, or Kamille knew about this they would retaliate against Captain Bright. @lemmehaviet maybe but probably cause of the weight of the 2 gundams. zeta's max weight is 62 metric tons. While wing zero's max weight is unknown, it's weight without it's weapons is 8 metric tons. But because of WZ's unknown max weight, the only thing I would say is that they're equally fast. I compared their weights on MAHQ and WZ still has that stupid fight point specs stuff. So bottom line, because of that, I say their equally fast.

@frozenhiphop09 Personally speaking...I think those seed fans are hositle to other series because they have been attacked so many times for liking seed. Thus they strike back at other Gundam series...which only increases the cycle. One of the reasons why AGE is getting so much hate, because finally the GUndam Seed fans (and others) can attack another series that looks worse then Seed. Which is exactly what is wrong with the Gundam fanbase these days...sigh...I have been around too long...

It was Victory Gundam and one of the last epsiodes...I didn't understand a word of what was going on, but I saw awesome action and ALOT of death. Hahaha, I had never seen that before in a cartoon and I was hooked. Man I miss toonami...

@ronnor001 I've been a gundam fan since 2003 so that means I watched seed before all the series. I was defending the show because I saw my friends hating on it. Then I realized after they told me how the fanbase is horrible and I watched Gundam Wing, and the originals after. So I just felt so sad that SEED was a downfall.

Are they perfect and are they the best thing out there? No. But they did what they set out to do and brought in a new generation of Gundam fans. Besides, Seed's fanbase is far from horrible. UC fans are just as bad and immature as Seed fans. Just look at the top rated comment in this video and see what I mean.

Whoa, this is quite well done. I want to go watch the Zeta movies now...but ah, must stay strong, still working my way through the UC timeline (halfway through ZZ at the moment). But yeah, I'm kinda disappointed in the new Gundam trailer too...then again, I haven't given up hope yet, it at least deserves a few episodes before I condemn it

Not the novel version, The Origin manga will be getting animated. Unfortunately, Sunrise has no idea if they want to do a TV series or give it the movie treatment at this time (heard it straight from them at the Gundam panel at AX 2011)

In terms of qualities of animation, this theatrical release of Zeta Gundam is still better than Gundam Unicorn. It's really a shame that we don't get such qualities these days anymore...

@below61 yeah it's modern but it's mainly a rip-off from it just like copy-paste-edit the storyline and even almost all of the modern gundam fans are not-so-like the seed and even flaming it because they have watched the original GUNDAM series that is still rocking up to now. and try to remember spin-offs are bad that they avoid to do the same mistake again and make again original series that are not based in the universal century

@RakManX8 Not to burst your bubble but original;y 0079 wasn't successful at all when it first aired. It wasn't till Zeta gundam in 1985 where Gundam really got its fame it has today. Though I agree today 0079 is quite successful. However everybody still has their preference of which series they like better. Everybody has an opinion. But if you are a true Gundam Fan then you will love every series regardless if some are better then others.

yes, and too much romance, which ruins the Gundam experience, That's why I like Heero and Setsuna better, and Kamille as well, though Zeta has too much romance on it, it has many lessons, and has a very deep story. SEED was made for mature ones, it's all about fanservice, and it's too brutal, though 00 and Zeta were quite tragic, it is not to the extent like that of SEED that as if it was made to just show all about maturity

@RakManX8 correction the director hates shinn and that's why a lot of people doesn't like shinn (hell the voice actor of shinn even says the show doesn't do justice to shinn) but i've heard super robots wars z do to shinn a lot of development to his character (not sure since it's japan only). UC r just unbeatable, and about AU... the best is Gundam Wing (well at least it didnt have massively produced gundams that could destroy a complete army all by themselves, and it's gundams had so much... charisma and had the best ost on ANY gundam series)
