  • What heads/cam are you running?

  • What intake is that?? I love that! I want that!

  • Nice car man.. what fuel pressure are you running ? I have an 88 trans am gta with the 305 5 speed and got an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.. some say the 305 is touchy to fuel pressure do to small injectors

  • Your tach is off just like mine is it idles at like 1500 so ur really not revving that high

  • that thing is seeeeexxxxy buddy, ive got a 87 IROC that looks kinda like it, doing some work on the engine now lol

  • WET

  • cool you stuck with the 305

  • /what exhaust

  • lol at 1:47 seconds it sounds like the camera lady had a little orgasm.

  • What kind of gear drive are you using? i want to put one in on my tpi but was told the knock sensor dont like gear drives..

  • Nice car. I like how you kept it pretty clean even with all the mods on it. Some people trash these things with the mods. We have an 1987 IROC with the 305 in it too (bone stock), and we put it into car shows (it has won at the Super Chevy Show in 3rd Gen Camaro class). I might buy another IROC for autocross and the sort because the IROC's are a ton of fun.

  • No, sorry, your tach is wayyyy off

  • I am curious so please help me out, I have a 89 RS with a 305 TPI. After hearing yours what did you do to get that instant throttle response? Yours looks and sounds awesome. Mine does not have the quick response as yours. It runs strong dont get me wrong but it lacks the instant throttle response as yours does. Whats your secret?

  • love the car.. love 3rd gens.. but i know that cant handle 7000 rpm. you would blow that engine.. my tach does it to. its cause you have messed with the power and some of the systems.. although my tach says it idles at 3000. and its obvious its around 900-1000.. just sayin.. those 3rd gen tachs easily get messed up. my old irocs went out. my buddys 85 went backwards.

  • @350572v8 I agree, that is not 7000rpm. For one, the TPI system barely supports power to 5,000rpm in stock form. I don't even think a TPI would hold together at 7000rpm in stock trim. I expect pistons to come flying out.

Even if that didn't happen, I can guarantee the valve float at 7000rpm would destroy the motor. You'd have pistons slapping valves and things would go wrong quickly.

BTW, I love my 89 TransAM GTA, but i'm not a nut swinger with GM cars.

  • @wjrneo2 I agree with this. a v8 over 300 ci shouldn't and probably can't run past 6500. and even if it did, nothing would come of it. I'm afraid to take my TPI 383 past 6k lol

  • @AlchemistHawk

That is not true. I regularly take my LT1 to 6000rpm. In fact, I ran 15 times at the drag strip and 3 times a run the car would hit 6000rpm before shifting. Soon I'll be taking it even higher, probably about 6400rpm.

The RPM issue is more to do with the valve-train, cam, and intake design than the strength of the bottom end. With a good set of springs 6000rpm is hardly exotic when it comes to SBCs. A TPI shortblock will hold at 6000rpm just fine

  • @wjrneo2 no no, I said above 6500 is bad. I'm just a little wimpy with the throttle. lol I want my engine to last a while. I have trick Flow heads, but I didn't build the engine. So I'm not taking chances with an auto trans

  • sounds sweet love the 7,000 rpm revs! what is done to her engine wise?

  • nice car!...got a 89 formula 350 firebird w/ws6 pkg. all blck w/ L98 eng. w/ t- tops..... oh and hell ya fuck the imports! drive on brother!

  • Who's doing the complaining during the ride? Mama? Ha! Ha!

  • classic! nice car man

  • @ericg83z yeah sounds like a gear drive

  • gear drive under the hood?

  • @ericg83z

Sure is, I love the sound of gear drive!

  • @baddbradxxx nice car man. mine is a 1986 also. Z28 iroc-z. except i put the 350 crate and a 4 barrel carb. in it. still doing some work on it

  • @ericg83z Either that or the alternator doesn't sound too happy.

  • Sweet ride man! looks like you did a lot of work under the hood, nice job! I just found and bought a TPI for my 350, long way to go though.

  • @russellmagnanti Thanks! Just got it out of storage over the weekend, hoping to maybe make another video soon...

  • did she say "your gonna wreck" nice car man. i love these maros

  • @ILLFEELINZ Yea, she always freaks out when I go fast...

  • Damn man, sounds great, gotta love the TPI in the third gens, what you running for full exhaust? Also have you siamesed the runners, the stock runners push the power peak to 4800rpm but if you siamese them or replace them the power curve jumps up to around 5200-5500

  • I custom made all the 3" exhaust myself. Those are aftermarket runners, upper & lower intake, throttle body, heads ect... It's all about being able to breath! :)

  • @inokichi13 Thanks! Yes, the runners are siamesed. I custom built the exhaust "3 exhaust going into a Flowmaster 2 chamber myself.

  • Very nice :)

  • @Rusty91o Thank you!

  • looks and sounds great. Im putting a tpi in a 85 el camino. The motor came out of a 91 Z28.

  • @squarebuisness09 Thanks!

  • your car is truly a peice of work, i used to have an 1989 5-speed z28 with the 350 tuned port injection, and u chose a great cam to put in it too, i had a lunati voodoo in a 1978 c-10. memories :P

  • @dereksteele1991 Thanks man!

  • nice car man. i had a 86 too. mine had a l98 swap is yours a 305 or 350?

  • @jmmass3264 She's just a little ol' 305... :)

  • @baddbradxxx i wish i could race you with my 350. id make you pull 4 wires for your plugs just to be fair. but youd probablly still win.

  • @gotenks137690 whats your 350 in?

  • @WHITEPOPOLO a single cab chevy truck. haha

  • @gotenks137690 hey mines too lol, and i have a extra cab one too

  • @baddbradxxx

Nothing wrong with that. They can pull just as hard, it's just a little more painful on the pocket book! With the right parts and care the 305 will still put the rice in its place just the same. Plus, when they're well taken care of their fuel economy isn't bad at all.

  • sounds nice what cam?

  • It's a Lunati Voodoo series cam, Don't remember the specs...

  • Useless!!

Any car guy should know the specs to his own motor!!!!

    still nice though

  • @Ls7colorado I know....

  • fucking beast man!!

  • Thanks!

  • Congratulations , look my ´78 gmc 420 hp, .....

  • love the setup bro looks just like my iroc(red) but not the power just original 350, lol, trade u even?

  • @camaro88iroc Umm?.... NO! LOL

  • where you get that type on engine??

  • The weather is getting nicer outside, just about time to get her back out.........

  • Nice and clean...real keeper!

  • @HOHOHOTCAKES Thanks!

  • Lol haha thats a tight camaro. I love how the girlfriend in the car says "dont get in a wreck" at 1:56... haha just like my gf

  • No...their Honda's CAN"T do that!! LOL

    Grand Camaro.....A++++

  • @BigRoger07 Thanks!!

  • man what have you done to the tpi to let that torque monster rev to 7000rpm.what kind of runners you got there and have you done anything to the base and plenum

  • @ventezzz The runners are after market (siamesed) everything else is ported and polished. Also have a monster throttlebody on it, and custom exhaust.

  • very nice!! i also love the valve covers, good job.

  • dude you have to let me know the exhaust!! that sounds amazing.

  • Yeah, where did you get those Camaro valve covers?, Chevy should've put those on them Camaros stock from the factory, and what kind of Intake runners do you have cuz sho ain't stock?!....

  • They're off a 69 Camaro, I had to do a little modifying, but I like them.

  • Sheeiit, I like 'em too lol...

  • nice ass camaro!!!...i especially like the valve covers and that sweet sounding exhaust...

  • I custom built the exhuast myself, nobody else has exhaust like mine!

  • wow bro, great looking and running camaro. sounds great. what size cam are you running if i may ask? p.s. your shotgun sounds a bit like my own. realy nice ride. peace trigger
