Richter and Leon Golub have sometimes been compared with each other because of the violence in their paintings. But unlike Golub, Richter lacks substance when it comes to the narrative. It seems like the figuration in the Richter paintings is a pretext in order to experiment with technics. Quite formal really.

I like Warhol. I like Basquiat. But I think those paintings are terrible.

thanks for the first painter, new to me, nice stuff. the daniel richters look good, kinda like Doigs 90's paintings....the w/b paintings look good, i like 'em....a lot of people don't...thanks mr. kalm
