  • DL the audio from this tune at thetunify doht cohm.

  • just for info. This is not a white strat. It's a castom guitar, named Charley (the guy that made it). It's an hand-made-strat-fashion guitar equipped with danelctro lipsticks pickups. Charley was the owner of the guitar shop where SRV was used to buy.

  • great sound quality

  • Mary had a little lamb,

One day she took it huntin'

That sheep scared all the ducks away

So Mary kicked its cunt in!

  • Johnny Copeland everybody

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of pick ups r those, that SRV has on his Strat

  • @Yozo84 They are a lipstick pickup on that strat I believe... sorry I couldn't tell you what exact type they are as I haven't a clue.. Hope that helps! :) rock on!

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of pick ups r those, that SRV has on his Strat - Danelectro Lipstick Pickups, Wired like the other SRV Strats - non fender schem. - The guitar name is Charley. ;)

  • i just love that snarl

  • look at 0:16 how he is feeling the music!

  • He always feels the music.

  • ELE NÃO BEBIA...

  • yeah i'm gonna put those lipsticks on my strat

  • 1:20-1:52 god has awaken

  • 0:00-9:39

  • I love the lipstick pickups they sound awesome

  • Fantastico!

  • The montreux performance sure comes close to the LIVE ALIVE album, which is SRV best of all times!

  • Comment removed

  • That's because it's the same performance, the live alive album version may contain overdubs though. I know most of the songs on it did, but I'm not sure about this one

  • even though srv is my idol, the one criticism i have is that his live solos are almost always the same as his recordings (like the one in this video). I always want him to improvise more when he plays just because i think the solos sound worse when he just plays them from memory.

  • What?!?

Erm, Stevie always improvised. This video right here is an example, I have no idea you meant by saying it sounds just like the original. He is playing a completely different solo, he did that everynight actually.

You are either kidding or you have a real bad pair of ears not to notice it sounds nothing like the solo on the album...

  • at 7:31 SRV plays literally the exact same solo from the recorded version of cold shot. That's what I'm talking about. I understand that youre trying to defend stevie because you like him, but it's blatantly the exact same solo. and im not saying srv never improvises, because he does (especially in the long texas flood video which is my favorite video) but he usually sticks to his recorded solos. Mary had a little lamb is an exception but if you look at other videos on youtube you can tell

  • Dude no offence or anything, but if you can't hear the improve in this, especially "Mary had a little lamb", you must be tone deaf. : )

  • Have you even heard him play Texas Flood at El Mocambo!? He uses completely different techniques for some of those licks, it's incredible

  • look up voodoo child or tin pan alley from tokyo and tell me he doesnt improvise on BOTH of them, both of them being over 10 minutes long. just because he may not have improvised on this particular solo doesnt mean he never does. your comment is blatantly ignorant.

  • funny how even one of the greatest guitarist ever born has a critic.

  • no point in tellin a dead man your opinion.

i respect it and i agree in some songs you could do better but it all comes down to find your favorite porformances or juts excepting them all how they are.

    pce!

  • i think if you're an artist you only have so much freedom to improvise because you still got to please alot of people.

  • when it comes to Mary had a little lamb, I think the Montreux rendition is my favourite from all the other ones i've heard....

  • /watch?v=e0dAAyOfYN0

check this guy, he did an awesome cover.

  • i wass there

  • I hope you kissed his feet.

  • Maybe his best playing of this tune. Nothing but TALENT. Sexy man, sexy playing....miss you Stevie!

  • i like the cowboypimp look lol. his guitar playing is awesome. this went straight into my favourites and convinced me to get a stratocaster.

  • I must say the singer

    sure resembles

    Steve Ray Vaughan!

BUT I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD!?

  • No offense intended...but did Stevie completely crush Johnny in this video or what.......?

RIP you guys. You were both blues LEGENDS!!!

  • Mary had a Little Lamb just SRV with cold shot he with Johnny Copeland look in 4:53

  • playing almost identical to his studio version solo yes. johnny improvs his solo here remember

  • @RoosterHitman SRV crushes anybody just look at the Jeff Beck and SRV videos.

  • @RoosterHitman Stevie crushed him lol. Nevertheless, Johnny is a great blues man.

  • @RoosterHitman they were both very blessed and I can't wait to see them again =)
