  • For some reason this song reminds me of the Rugrats episode where they go to the Grand Canyon. I really don't know why. lol

  • Soooo many memories...

    Suddenly I feel very old...

  • If the godfather tookplace underwater this would be their theme.

  • at 0:52 EPIC!!!

  • Kevin Costner should have been a surprise boss in this level.

  • I have a friend who loves video games. When ever we talk, I tell him to play these classic games and his response is always "Why would I play old games where a pixel is the character when I can play new games" I tell him that this music is why. HE still refuses. Then I say some stuff inappropriate for this website

  • Does anyone else thinks this epic music reminds of lavender town!

  • @TetsuyaBrazil

from the original pokemon games? Yeah it does:)

  • It's amazing how you could beat this game so easily as a kid, but now it seems so hard.

  • the damn barracudas!

  • The underwater levels in this game used to scare the ever-loving shit out of me. :C

  • And I thought it's worst DKC underwater song. I listened to GBA version: no it isn't so bad.

P.s. Worst - only compared to underwater themes from DKC 1,2.

  • @SimmStarcraft he´s a real genious...., I wonder what´s he doing now...., I hope working for Ninty!

  • I just got the weirdest flashback.

I literally saw myself in my 7 yr old self tryin my best to swim away from a snappin fish and finding KONG pieces and DK barrels.

I always used to rush thru these levels, cause the music blended in so well with the environment, and i always used to get scared and start cryin an shit.

Nearly 10 years have passed. Im not scared anymore, but i still shed a tear.....good times

  • My favorites are:

Aquatic Ambience, Ice Cave Chant, Fear Factory, Gankplank Galleon, Credits Concerto, Mining Melancholy, Stickerbrush Symphony, Rattle Battle, Forest Interlude, the Credits theme from DKC2, and possibly some others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

  • Am I the only one that gets a Maridia vibe at 2:20 - 2:40?

  • To all of you who didn't know, the composer behind the majority of DKC 3's music is Eveline Fischer, not Dave Wise. Dave Wise only wrote the title screen music, Wrinkly's Save Cave music, and game over music. This song is Eveline Fischer.

  • @leifman7 It's no wonder the music in DKC3 was incredibly lacking compared to DKC2...

  • @BoinyBunny but u do agree that all the songs in the games were still good

  • @sonic3teen Some were good, maybe one or two were great, most were passable (IMO). Whenever I go to listen to DKC music, it nearly always ends up being from the first or second game. The third game's music just (generally) doesn't do it for me.

  • I wish I hadn't lost this game.

Like, I really, really, REALLY wish I hadn't lost it. :(

  • The first 10 seconds remind me of the opening of SMRPG when the 8 stars fall down on bowser/exors castle

  • Who here remembers that damn fish that you HAD to feed to keep it from eating you, and depending on how long you take to feed it, and what you fed it would determine how fast or how slow his color would turn from blue to red. that and the lighting level were a couple of thorns in my side in this game.

  • @mrroboto5785 Arrrgh. That fish bit my Kongs so many times, It was disgusting...Me and my friend feared that level because of that thing.

  • really really good :O

  • Damn...Another Song That Brings Back Haunting Memories...That Damned Fish...You Feed And Feed Him...But That Fat Fucker Was Never Satisfied...Always Lurkering In The Darkness...Always Hungry...God Help You If You Didn't Feed Him...

  • Ugh, this music nearly made me crap my pants the first time I listened to it! Dave Wise sure knows how to make music! 15/5!

  • @nintendo1889x

Eveline Fischer actually composed this song

  • feels like everything has been forgooten ,sunked lost down the buttom of the ocean sea,it feels so dramatic this song.

it feels like ,m swimming alone in the sea!!!

  • God, I hated that level where the fish follows you and you're required to feed it as you venture through the level or he attacks you. This music always reminded me of funeral music and didn't help me feel better, lmao.

I actually played that level yesterday. 0: Original cartridge ftw.

  • hey man they do. you just have to buy the classic controller and have wii points and you can get all three games! i have all 3 on mine :D

  • i wish they would make a remake of all the DKC for the wii it be cool

  • Better yet, all three in one game, upgraded graphics and music tones, on the DS. ^^

  • You're probably thinking of the DS' 3D capabilities.

The DS shoudl be able to use the SNES sprites and artwork and make it look just the same as it would on the SNES.

In my opinion, I'd love to see a DKC compilation on the DS, though I do agree the Wii might be a better choice.

  • i wish. if they were to do it on the ds the graphics might be decreased a bit. and music slightly enhanced. but still. i would buy it.

  • As long as they don't pull the BS that the GBA versions did.

  • Really creepy, especially in the level with the fish following you and you have to feed it....

  • i hated that

when i was little i always got scared

"hurry i dont wanna die where the fish!!!"

    lol

  • the level when everything is dark, and you have to stab the fat fishes (as enguarde the swordfish) to make some light- that is the creepiest and most depressing in dkc3 imo

  • Man, Rare knows how to do water level themes.

  • @Calciphoce Correction; Rare knows how to make every aspect of a game good.

  • @FinishingCircles It's a shame that we'll never see this type of game done like this again. Nintendo and Rareware.....one of the BEST collaborations in the video game industry.

  • @mrroboto5785 Yup. If I knew shit about designing games and what-not, I would be all over making new games with a classic '90s feel and sound to em. Maybe I should spend some spare time doing that here and there...Compose some short music.. Hmm..I wanna do this now so I can love games again ahah.

  • reminds me of a dark ocean looking at a shipwreck when all of a sudden a sea monster comes outa nowhere and attcks you. spookey music. thats why we love it

  • A sea monster attack would have a bit more of an adrenaline feel to it. I would go for more of a "lost on a shipwreck in ocean depths" feel.

  • I love this.

  • Woah! Super eerie stuff here! Has alittle bit of Castlevania vibes to it at 0:30

  • Whoa! Up to 0:06, I got this intense Super Metroid vibe.

  • Anything Super Metroid is intense. Vibes doubly so!

  • Whoo! High five, bro! :D

  • Ohai guys, am I late?

  • Holy fuck this is awesome!!!

  • this game no tired me

  • The DKC games were easily some of the most beautiful games of the SNES era in graphics, gameplay, and music.

It's no surprise to see a song like this here :3

  • This game was actually released in the Nintendo 64 era, actually! So yeah, they had a while to get used to it.

  • David Wise - One of my greatest role models.

I love all the music from the Donkey Kong Country series and I listen to this song almost every day.

    He's SO F**KING TALENTED!

  • Actually most of the DKC3 songs (including this one) were done by someone else (forgot her name...). But yes, David Wise is awesome!

  • Do you mean Eveline Fischer? Well, if I put it like this: All the people who were involved in the music composing are awesome. :)

  • Ah yeah, that's her name.

And I agree, all the DKC series musicians are awesome! =D

  • I am sorry to say this but he did not compose this song. But you are right, he is a composer legend. His works on Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 are all-time greats in video games.

  • When did I say he composed this song? ;)

And yeah, the music is kinda ahead of its time for sure.

  • i still enter the water levels and immediatly pause when i enter the level just to listen to the music.

  • I've always loved the "cascades" theme. It was just so... atmospheric. It made me feel like I was there.

  • Good rival for Aquatic Ambience

  • at 0:53 - 1:00 i feel like im underwater in front of a deep, dark chasm, wondering how to get past it. then i realize i can just swim over it...i allso realize that i cant swim...so how did i get there in the first place? great yet creepy song 5 *s

  • Man, this music is so amazing

one of the greatest platform games ever too

  • Is it wrong that I want to play this game again, JUST FOR THE MUSIC?

  • No. Most of us do,do that.

  • This is so much better than the GBA-version of the music! Five stars :-)

  • Listening to David Wise's three water-ish songs is like picturing yourself at different depths of the ocean. This one is like the abyss...where those angler fish lurk, haha.

  • the waltz beat is cool in this song, mixed w the bells it definetly creates that dark ocean

  • Donkey Kong always had some of the best music

  • I always enjoyed this game but the music was what really made it awesome :D

  • Nice!

  • SNES VERSION FTW!

  • In such an upbeat soundtrack, a slow ambient track like this really stands out. Completely changes the mood of the game.

  • The guy behind all the music of DK is a fucking genius.

  • @Mephistobr Yes, The "Ennio morricone" videogames.

  • @Mephistobr There are two.

  • @Mephistobr David Wise + Robin Beanland = Win!

  • @Mephistobr

    he is named david wise

  • @Mephistobr , Eveline Fischer? I'm fairly sure she was in charge of most of the SNES soundtrack for this game. But David Wise was the one who did the GBA soundtrack. :D

  • @Mephistobr It depends. DKC1 had 3 composers DKC2 had only one and DKC3 had 2. Being that David Wise is the main composer behind DKC soundtracks (specially DKC2), Eveline Novakovik composed some of DKC1 and 3 soundtracks, such as the amazing Nothern Hemispheres (snow level) from DKC1

  • DJ Darky does it again xD

  • good choice; I forgot about this tune

  • Feed that fish, or else...

  • I remember this song...It was nice.5/5

  • I posted the GBA version, now it's the SNES version's turn! Different, but still great and atmospheric.
