If something is true, this song is about innocence and evil skull kid who only brings in the essence of history combined. is precisely what causes the sound track in a "the asceptacion of childhood and mature"
ah yes! I got a similar feeling! Whenever I walked into the astral observatory, I felt a sense of peace, calm...yet in the back of my mind, I knew the world was going to end.
I dont mean to offend anyone whos against this sort of thing, but getting a little stoned and staring at the night sky with this song playing is an incredible experience
@NitendoMeg Dude.. I was thinking the same thing. The back stories of some of the characters would be great for some sort of silent artsy film. Like the girl and her zombie father at Ikana Canyon, for example.
When you first start the game you see what appears to be an evil moon that's gonna kill everyone but in this moment you look through the telescope and see the moons true side and this song has a melody that shows the sadness of the moon but in the background you hear the evil of skull kid and while you hear the song the evil is always there as it is also there as you play the game
When I was a kid and I played this, I saw Skull Kid shaking his ass at the telescope and I was a bit offended... I never understood that there was actually a joke to it. You see, Skull Kid was actually MOONING you. Get it? Moon. The humor in Nintendo games is amazing.
And this is why MM is the most heartfelt, gloomiest, darkest, deepest, sadest Zelda to date. Those who play it are always changed by its story and its elements. It teaches many life lessons that can only be experienced through the game, and the game stays within your heart forever. I'd still like a sequel to the game though, because at the end, Link just continues to wander in the Lost Woods forever. I wish that Link could get a happy ending as well.
this song is absolutely beautiful. years of playing games with koji kondo subconsciously setting the atmosphere, have made me realize how genius he is as a composer. seriously. nobody even realizes just how affective his songs are, and in this case they don't even need a setting. this man may very well have been a huge inspiration toward becoming an audio engineer.
I do not understand is how sad and happy at once beautiful and melancholy, play with my childhood taking it out of my being. it's like my childhood rroba
zelda toys ever heard this song and big but now I could not remember her, but remembers the unconscious is like a reset button that says you do not forget or to be more presisamente
Do not forget that you are free to anyone though as you grow up not ever forget my "Childhood"
It is normal that I like Majora´s Mask over Ocarina of Time??? I think is a better story, a good music, I like you can back in time and the fact you have to time everything to get heart pieces, masks, items, everything!! (I'm not saying that I dislike OoT, I'm only saying MM is better than OoT)
man, it's so crazy to see these comments all sort of reflect a similar feeling towards this song. This was a definite break up song for me. It's so haunting, and almost anxiety provoking, but extremely calming at the same time. It is an acceptance. It feels like it's ready for the moon to fall, but a part of it also gives you this tiny spark of will, a flicker of courage that makes you keep going.
This song always amazed me. Sure it's sounds a bit happy but it has this melancholy feel to it. i only hear this song when it's the last 10 minutes before the moon destroys everything. So it give's that melancholy feel, a sense of doom.
BEST GAME EVER! Who agrees? I feel like this is THE most underrated game of all times even though it offers amazing atmosphere, great suspension, incredible soundtracks and a lot of gametime
@Burdjur@FearlessSpinner I disagree with both of you. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are notably different from each other, one being heroic and classic, the other being deep and mysterious, i consider it's plain wrong to compare them. They are BOTH masterpieces, each with their own virtues and their own views of life and death, and should never be involved in a mundane comparison.
@FearlessSpinner i originally would have agreed with that...OoT felt more like the old ones, and MM kinda just stood on its own...you had to warm up to it before you could love it....id love to play it again now, brings back memories of high school
I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason, not only is this so beautiful, but also haunting or sad in a way. Not sure where it comes from, but I love it.
Majora's Mask is definitely one of the most unique and fun games ever made. What an original story. Alternate world, falling moon, mysterious characters and places (like this one). You would think that this was based on a fiction novel or something..Damn creativity...damn..
A very talented author, artist and singer, Gemma Bright, webmistress of Pokemon Rebirth, used this song for one of her songs called Gloria. The song is about Errol/Meowth's lost love Gloria who had her memory wiped in a machine. It makes this song so much more beautiful and sad to me now, because not only do I associate it with zelda, but with the tragic story of Gloria.
This was the theme song to my recovery over heroin addiction.
I cannot describe the hell involved with detox. But this song is the perfect way to describe the feeling when you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel; when you know it will soon be over. It's nearly every emotion combined into one unexplainable one.
Essentially, the same can be said about the entire game.
It's been nearly 11 years since release now, and I've yet to see a better work of overall art.
@tehbackmaskr thats great im so happy for you. its people like you who make me believe that with the right state of mind you can overcome anything. this kind of music puts me in the right state of mind. Thank you
When I am old and dying, this song will play in my mind. When I am reminiscing back and a montage of old memories come to me. This song will loop until I pass away.
this song is just so great it gives me this feeling that no other song in the world can and i use this song to get over the bad things in my life and think of all the good things in it
The artwork in this video and the song goes so well hand in hand. Just like someone else said, this game had a particular atmosphere to it. Eerie and mysterious, yet sad at the same time. I loved Zelda back when I was younger, and this song really makes you wish you had appreciated those moments even more. On another completely irrelevant note, the whole "odd" style of this kinda reminds me of Spirited Away.
This song doesn't relax me, in fact it does the opposite D: When I first started playing Majora's Mask, I didn't know what I was doing and I'd be listening to this song as the bell rung. It's bright, colorfull setting seemed entirely out of place and has imprinted in my mind as unsettling. SO WHY CAN'T I STOP LISTENING TO IT.
It makes my entire mind, body and heart rest at peace, forgetting the rest of the worries of the world. The demise of all the Earth could not relinquish this peaceful music.
There's something about this music that really makes me feel teary-eyed... Maybe it's the fact that little children hear the world like this, peaceful happy... I thought the same thing. I'm 14 now, and I realize things will never be the same.
"...and in my final moments i look at the wondrous beauty of a star written sky. I find that it gives me a confidence I've never known. I am calm and steady, because i know for a fact life goes on. My soul's end brings a new beginning."
Wow... this was my first refrence to the end of the world and this song brings back all the memories. This game was mysteries... creepy... you had to know what you were doing to play it. Speaking of the end of the world... is it just me or is Legend of Zelda (especially Ocrania of Time) alot like revalations.
@FallenTemplar1405 Imho this game can show many kinds of things but one important is about the heal you make in here to the people, not physical but their soul.
@Aureliants or more in general... the mark that you can leave behind in someone and how it can effect them... healing is just a side to that. Either way I think the stories in Zelda go deeper than what they just apear and thats what makes them master peices.
@FallenTemplar1405 C'mon this mussic is so good and the game brings back such memories, why bring that down with trying to find religious connections?
@noah1017 personally i think its cool that they refrence it. Even if your anti-religion or anti-christian or whatever doesn't mean that revalations has to be a bad book... it's basically just a fantasy book to you guys about the end of the world, and well if you don't like the end of the world why are you playing legend of zelda?
@classicgamerguy112 OMG, it's true! Lucky job you don't run into any knights in the forest, or you would never pass through that wood...alive! SHRUBBERY!
@classicgamerguy112 You eventually catch your Fire and Water types too, which is good. It was kind of weird that the Fire type was so dependent on Rollout though.
When I hear this, I feel like I'm a terminal patient in a hospital saying my last words to the love of my life before my death. It's so deep and touching...
I get the game borrowed 3 days ago, and before the observatory I was scared, but when i get to the stairs, I was fascinated. oh man, i like it a little more than the ocarina of time (the game of my childhood)
one of the best songs i ever heard!!!, it´s extremely beautiful, and i´m totally agree with you when you say: "Very deep masterpiece that brings tears to my eyes. Its beautiful and soothing, but at the same time, its dark and has a tragic tone. Its like its saying all will end soon, but you should charish and make best of the hours you have left."
this game was truly fantastic a masterpiece however i still cant decide whether or not its better than Ocarina of time both games seem close to perfect yet both have flaws. i wasnt keen on the time based gameplay of this but it was still an epic game which i grew to cherish and attached to, i didnt stop playing until full completion which took months. in ocarina of time i didnt like the ironboots thing in the water temple yet i think it as a god of gaming. i really cant choose one over the other
one of the best songs of Zelda!:D
