  • Opeth played an amazing concert in Warsaw. And this song all the fired

  • 赞~~~~~~~~~~

  • No one who heard block

  • Nadie que escuchó bloque OPETH

  • Hey, someone put really himself to scream at 10:12 "we love you Opeth" :-)

  • I hope to hear The drappery falls in Warsaw, February 24 :)

  • @hellbournee It's been played at shows recently, so you may be in luck.

  • @hellbournee Me too. :)

  • Amazing? is that the word?

  • HOLY SHIT YEEEAAHH

    Hail from Brazil!

  • Mikael has one hell of an o-face!

  • gutural vocals sounds weird in this concert....

  • @sintomas die

  • @sintomas A mixture of Mikael's voice gradually worsening and the ear monitors he was using at the time.

  • @MrMike0113 Its sad he his losing his voice, but atleast the musicianship is still there when it comes to song writing, and his clean vocals are still sexy as FUCK!

  • @LilithImmacualte Oh, absolutely. His clean vocals are absolutely incredible. I watched recordings of some of the recent Opeth performances yesterday, and his voice once again amazed me. It was also good to see the return of some heavy songs.

  • How great is that song? <3

  • I like this solo-performance better than the one on the record... nice than it's recognizable but still different

  • Nice performance, much better video quality than Lamentations, but Axe to me, while being technically a very solid drummer, has no "swing" in his playing like Lopez showed on Lamentations. To his credit though, it sounds like he plays it exactly like it was on Blackwater. Too stilted for my taste, though.

  • @blppt This is a total "bandwagon" comment and not accurate. Lopez had a looser feel, but was also all over the place live. Axe plays with feel and accuracy. There is much more "swing" on this version than the studio take. Go listen.

  • after seeing the lamantations version and now this one I have to say I miss peter lindgren.

  • There are so many people here... I'm lucky and blessed I got to see them at a small venue, especially being so far away

  • Can't wait to see these guys with Katatonia in a couple of weeks!

  • @ssmith87 Saw Opeth and Katatonia last night...fucking AWESOME!

  • @Suthrnbelle80 Me too, shot a vid of Devil's Orchard at the Warfield.

  • @ShinobisZ I shot a video of A Fair Judgment....gave me goosebumps when they played it!

  • @Suthrnbelle80 Awesome ending with them facing the drum set and just beating down the riff until it ended.

  • @ShinobisZ Cool....great show wasn't it.

  • i'm sitting with my cat and enjoying OPETH

  • WHO THE FUCK GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THE CROWD! goddamn it, its not like oh i'm going to see how the crowd reacted on the opeth dvd. fuck, this is about OPETH and not the crowd. ok... now that i am more relaxed i just want to say that i will go see opeth this month. so fucking exited. cheers fuckers \m/

  • @heresmycomment i care about the crowd when theyre clapping off beat and fucking up the audio... its annoying. Otherwise I could care less.

  • @joelco92 crawd clapping? fucked up audio? i didn't notice any of that at all... maybe i just pay attention to what opeth is doing/playing on this video. \m/

  • @heresmycomment envy.

  • @heresmycomment ok, but when the crowd claps out of time it's really annoying, or when they scream and you can't even hear the piano melody... like in "Hessian Peel"

  • @heresmycomment hahaha calm down

  • @ducky076 \m/

  • @heresmycomment Musicians... People notice things like that. It can throw you off.

  • and I hate when morons don't know the metal horns.....1:44.

  • the lamentations's version is 100x better :/ PERIOD.

  • Instead of your tour, come to my house and play all ten records one after another please, Opeth. I can clap in time.....

  • That lead guitar tone is to die for... Sounds even better than the record

  • i hate it when a crowd claps out of time...

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeyThe14th i can understand if theyre on a DT gig...

  • This song is AWESOME.

  • yeah..this is art!!

  • Wow, 8:12 seemed pretty sad. One dude just kept his horns up! XD

  • Opeth, PT, Riverside Nice.

  • You know there a good band when they can sound the same live as they do in the studio.

  • OBVIOUSLY, the crowd doesn't know how to clap in 6/8 time.

  • this has to be my all time favorite Opeth song. everything about it is perfection.

  • im gay

  • amazing band live, tight as f**k :)

  • love the bass line......sweet

  • quite static audience... i'm an old guy, but when i'm on a rock concert, my feet rarely touch the ground :D

  • gonna see these these guys in october and I really hope they play this song

  • Described by 1 word, perfection

  • good to know he hasn't lost his growl..

  • I have to have this DVD. They are simply amazing!!!

  • (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • opeth are fucking amazing.

  • Always on a new level of epicness!!!

Great job man uploading this divine performance!! :D

  • Comment removed

  • Great audience, not much yelling, screaming and all the time totally off-beat clapping (what is it with prog audiences not having any feeling for rhythem?).

  • this song really needs Peter Lindgrens playing and even more his looks

  • Swedish musicians (especially in metal) are fucking geniuses.

  • @clipsryan i can say the surroundings in sweden are very inspiring - the place is great :D

  • epic intro!!

  • Magnificent song...!!!

  • Feel some emptiness without Peter Lingdren, but must say Fredrik Akesson makes a very uniquely powerfull match with Opeth! wish him all the best \m/

  • Haha, 0:13 , crowd <3 Opeth :D

  • love this song ,glad to see all the high quality videos

  • amazing music...i love this song

  • It's just not the same without Lopez.

  • @akintomeatloaf You're right, they actually play this song better live now.

  • Frumos videoclip!Beautifull Clip!

  • well, looks like we have 3 Rebecca Black fans...

  • damn, I really got 38 thumbs up? haha thanks!

  • How can a band that plays music at this level of complexity play as good live as on the album? These songs last forever and they never miss a beat. AMAZING!

  • Love Opeth love drapery falls but never considered it one of my favorites by them but i have to say this performance stole the show!

  • I absolutely love Opeth, only beaten by Maiden as my all time favourite band, and that's only because i've been a Maiden fan for longer. Have to say though, my only concern for Sonisphere is that Opeth don't have a longer set, they should be headlining instead of Biffy Clyro. As long as they get an hour at least, i'll be happy, one of the best live bands ever, i really cannot wait!

  • I can`t even describe here how much i love Opeth , i just love their music that much!

Their are my biggest influence and always will be! \m/

  • English audiences have no rythem.......but at least they have good taste!

  • English audiences have no rythem.......but at least they have good taste!

  • This is musical art.

  • This concert is excellent! But the audience IS DEAD! What's wrong with them? Perhaps they are zombies or undead? You can see they do not feel the metal as in Chile and Latin America!!

  • @water1173 No dude, when a band releases a live concert dvd, they quiet down the audience during post production. Believe me, I've seen Opeth live 5 times. The crowds are ALWAYS fucking pumped! \m/

  • @water1173 They're not dead, they're in ecstasy *_*

  • anyone notice the norwegian flag haning in front of the audience? i hope those fans that brought that were norwegian, because opeth are swedish.

  • Axe is better than Lopez.

  • @BOCoficial Blasphemy

  • @BOCoficial Not comparable at all, totally different guys. Both great, but for my money Lopez was the heart of the bend at the time

  • 00:14 lol at the one guy headbanging alone.. xD

  • LOLOLOL

HI WE ARE THE CROWD CLAP ALONG

    .....

    CANNOT DO ...

    :(

  • Copenhell !!!!!!!!

  • I cant fucking wait for sonisphere! :D

  • Gonna see them at Graspop !!!!! \m/

  • CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THESE AT SONISPHERE <3

  • Opeth....what else?

I was mainly into classical music like Mahler and Bruckner and Wagner...but, it is really the same basis, the same art, the same complex...They made me get started in songwritting...Hail!

  • Downright embarrassing clapping here. Hopefully everyone who was there watches this and realises what a bunch of pillocks they are.

  • Fuck... yes!

  • Just look at Mikaels guitar... look at it! In my oppinion he and Moloch from Melechesh owns the best looking guitars.

  • @Grekis11

It's a Paul Reed Smith Custom SE Opeth edition, i can tell you they are some of the best sounding guitars i have ever heard. I have a friend who has one and it's beautiful. I'm currently saving for one myself :)

  • @buttheadak

PRS is the best guitar. My buddy works for them and I have a custom guitar from them. He had them build an "explorer" style guitar, but can't call it a PRS due to copyright. At least it's one of a kind. I also have a Tremonti edition. You cannot go wrong with these.

  • @crimsonorchidband Yeah for sure. Price wise they're excellent also, the hardware in them is on par with the best guitars about. I think i'm gonna get the SE Custom, about £600 i think. I can't wait, just bought a new Peavey Vyper amp in preperation too :)

  • i look at opeth as a progrock band, rather than a metal band... metal bands can be cool, but the crowd is so different. i wouldn't want people moshing and such during an opeth concert, but if i'm at a metal concert, i'll jump right in! but it's mostly the typical metal "discussions" that i hate, you know, bashing everything and pulling shit down just because it's "not metal"... opeth doesn't fit into that kind of behaviour... opeth is a mature form of music, fully thought through.

  • @DennChooch i agree with you man...

  • Regarding the clapping, it's really a massive difference going to an Opeth gig where people "get it" and one where they don't. I saw them in Wacken 2006, and people just stood there observing the musical genious. And then I saw them again in Arvika (synth/pop festival) and people were moshpitting(!). It was a disgrace.

  • @jrgenkratz Yeah if you want to go to a metal show to push other sweaty guys around go to some metalcore show, slipknot, something along those lines. For music like this you should be there observing the art.

  • I was there, can't imagine I'll ever experience anything like this again.

  • I hope for goodness sakes the two giving this a thumbs down misclicked..

  • I bet half of the audience right there didn't even know most of the songs, that explains the pointless off-beat clapping and shit. You don't deserve to visit an Opeth concert if you truly don't understand it and study it. It's not some local metal gig or any kind of bullshit, this is art.

  • @dicamillo686 And they are coming to San Diego XD

  • 6:00 genius

  • What kind of fucking douchebag thumbs down this?! Dipshit...

This is way too damn good!

  • i just love the way this guys approach music...they surely are one of the most talented bands and dont know actually a thing about music theory as mikael had explained....the existence of emotion is everywhere in their songs....their songs are like our life:the acoustic parts when we are happy and the quick riffs with brutal vocals when we are angry......... O P E T H \m/

  • If Mozart and Beethoven would be alive today ....they would whorship Mikael Akersfeldt ....

  • I think the crowd is trying to cope with opeth's musical abilities and clap a kind of complex syncopated rhythm onto the guitar line. my understanding is limited though, I didn't get the logic behind it

  • So much quality in one band, it's almost unreal.

I MUST see them live within the next year or two... I absolutely must!

  • the modern jetho tull:P..

  • stop clapping! for gods sake...

  • Look at that crowd going wild-..

    Oh wait wtf is this?

  • @Spwee1494Halo It depends on how much you want to spend on them. They can be a lil pricey for headphones, but they give great sound and block out any external noise.

  • Love those bass lines

  • @Eeedgard Martin Mendez is a filthy good bassist

  • Love those bass lines

  • awesome! Just bought Blackwater Park... I'm a new Opeth fan :))

  • @arnaud360 Welcome to an eternity of addiction to awesome music. I started listening to Opeth a couple months ago and already bought all their albums XD

  • @GuitarRocks23455 Haha wow! :D

  • @arnaud360 Welcome to what will be a life's obsession :)

  • @arnaud360 One of their finest.

  • @arnaud360 Now start listening from Orchid all the way to Watershed and the new album coming out today! You might fail a few of your exams...but you're perception of music will change forever \m/

  • @arnaud360 fukcing great album

  • @arnaud360 you don't have to buy albums to be a fan hehe ;) I am a fan, i don't have any of the albums but i saw them live twice, i'm looking forward to see them again this year in august ^^

    - okay okay i admit it, i once had Blackwater Park too, but someone stole me because the album was awesome xDDD

  • @arnaud360 I'm a new Opeth fan, and I've just bought Blackwater Park too...LOLOLOLOLLLL!

  • @arnaud360 Ghost Reveries, Deliverance, My Arms Your Hearse and Watershed are good too. Also when the new album Heritage comes out this year you should get it.

  • @arnaud360 Good choice man..! Try all of their CDs..! :-)

  • @arnaud360 You'll like Deliverance the best. Opeth's true feel.

    To me, anyways.

  • @arnaud360 amazing decision!

  • @arnaud360 I'm a new Opeth fan and i've just bought Blackwater Park too...... D:

  • thats why i love opeth.......they combine power,technique,emotion....such a great band.......

  • How does an entire audience stray so far off beat? It's not like they're trying to follow Meshuggah!

  • @dying8 Meshuggah is easy to follow, try some free jazz! XD

Seriously, I didn't know there was non-musicans opeth fans :/

  • @DunkleFlugel try some john coltrane stuff.. jajaja

  • @DunkleFlugel of course there are non-musician opeth fans. drummers for example!

    (j/k I'm a drummer myself :-)

  • @dying8 haha its only opeth fans!

  • Cos they are fekin Brits LOL ROFL

  • That clapping would be such a distraction on stage, thank goodness in-ears where invented.

  • @bassplayer4Christ Any idea what a decent pair of those go for? Been wanting some for awhile now.

  • THERES FAILURE INSIIIIIDEEEE

  • How the hell does Mike manage to sing after all those crazy ass growls? I know my voice would be shot to shit after just a minute of that.

  • @Mendelbrak growling is not suppose to hurt your throat

  • @warmdickweed If you don't do it right it can hurt your throat and cause serious damage to your voice.

  • ¿Por qué putas aplauden?

  • Opeth is the best band live in the world!!!

  • lol every live is ruined by the crappy clapping :p too many people without any sense of rhythm.

  • superbe drumming here.excellent performance by the entire band!masters

  • Which could be the inspiring of Akerfeld?

  • This band is the reason I would ever bother attempting to create music. It's just that inspiring and well composed... I can't even sum up how much I love this band's music with the characters youtube allows you to post so I'll just stop here

  • @coloredCYANIDE Absolutely, dude. My playing is incredibly influenced by Opeth. I can't even begin to describe how fantastic they are.

  • Opeth = perfeccion

  • @OmFgl2 Opeth > perfection.

  • Why in the hell don't they ever play 'Beneath the Mire' live? They didn't play it on 'Lamentations' and I don't see it listed in any of the Royal Albert Hall vids on here. Does anyone know if this is a song they play live? That's one of my favorite songs by them (top 5) and I wanna fuckin' hear them do it LIVE!!
