  • I must be doing something wrong. For the life of me I cannot seem to assimilate. I try to press the button fast enough but it just doesn't seem to go up enough and I end up with nothing but a sore arm. It's really starting to piss me off. I'm not poor at video games. Can anyone help me out here? Is there a certain way to make the thing go up fast? I got the gunner assimilation but I can't assimilate the stun guys. I'm always cut short like right before it fills up all the way.

  • Is there ANYWAY POSSIBLE you have the song that plays when he's running from the statue head as an mp3? I've been depressed since my old demo cd was massacred by my dog and I've been looking for it ever since. :(

  • @intoxicatedbiscuit

    Video without the sound effects:

YouTube URL + Add this below:

    /watch?v=VV3kw2ncCQA

Step 1: Firefox's Video Download Helper

Step 2: Um...Download it using the icon left of the Video's title.

Optional Step: Convert the video into a MP3 file.

Another way: Download Audacity and just record the video and save the recorder file into a WAV or MP3.

I hope this information helps you.

  • @AZDA9S You are a fucking life saver. <3<3<3<3<3

  • im lucky i own a copy of this game still haha. imo one of the best games released for the psx. actually, if they made more games like this nowdays id be happy .

  • Fond memories. "Whoa, JUMP!" lol

  • Back when Squareonix was Squaresoft.

  • loved this game as a kid wish i knew what happen 2 my copy of this

  • Hump that chain, piggy! Hump it!

  • wow lol , he can pick up the steamknight like its paper but he hesitates when holding the steam knight's flail

  • nostalgia -_-

  • a good friend of ours (who still has yet to get it back) lent us an issue of PS Underground that had a playable Musashi demo. I tried it and fell in love with it as a teenager. It wasn't until this year that I (finally) bought a copy of the game (that still has its FFVIII demo disc). Aaah, brings back old gaming memories (is an FFVII nut) :)

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that plays around 5:10?

  • Brings back sweet memories.

  • This game had it's ups and downs, ups being the fighting and Steam Knight and downs being Steamwood and the boat scene (or raft). All-in-all, it's a great game, and nice run too. Thanks for putting these videos up.

  • "So, does anyone remember this game as anything other than the game that came with the FFVIII playable demo disc? "

    *raises hand*

I played it on the demo disc from when I got my first ps1 (dual shock version). since then, I've probably beaten it 8 times and have YET to play a FF game.

  • You can absorb gunshot before the logs and skip the tutorial. It's a nice little trick if you're doing a speed run.

  • Indeed. Check the video response, where I do just that ;)

  • Whoaaa!

    JUMP!

  • this game is awesome

  • when u was fighing the boss it looks like our cuting his balls

  • Just another Manic Monday for Musashi. What else could be such a rough day for the would-be hero? Soldiers shooting at him, statues trying to crush him.

And the Knight of the Thirstquencher Empire takes the cake. I'd say this is worse about using food and drink names for things than Chrono Cross was!

  • Wow! I didn't know that the company that made Final Fantasy made this game, too.

I remember playing this game, but I never got past the first level. I didn't know how to get that log bridge down.

  • I love the music that plays when the bell drops on the flame. (:

  • they dont make rpg like this no more ..now its mosl;y boreing

  • Yes 1whoistornapart, i do have this game that came with the demo disc, if fact i was streaming myself playing this awesome game about two days ago on ustream , maybe i will stream it again. Great game it is :)

  • no joke here: seriously one of the best games I've ever played in my life. I heard the sequel wasn't too hot which really saddened me cause I LOVE this game

  • can i download this on my ps3?

  • AHHHHH!! I REMEMBER THIS!!

  • wow sweet way of geting the sword!

  • from 5:00 to 6:10 is my favorite part X3

  • If you use fusion to absorb the gunner before you arrive those 3 blocks, then you will skip that tutorial about fusion's ability (During 0:50-1:00). That will save your time for 10 seconds~

  • Thanks, though someone on GameFAQs already pointed that out to me. I still appreciate the feedback though :D

It's funny, when I recorded this I thought I did pretty well but watching it now I realize I made so many mistakes. In addition to skipping the cutscene:

1 Use Gunshot on the statues

2 Run the OTHER way to start climbing the ramp outside the tower

3 Use Gunshot and Lumina Rotation on the Steam Knight. Saves a TON of time there.

All that should take 1-1.5 minutes off the segment easily.

  • wanna play this again so bad!!!!!

  • I like how he says "That's what you get when you mess with me". Sure the line is simple, but when it's well said it gets you pumped for more Musashi.

  • yeah this game rocked..im downloading the iso as we speak lol

  • anybody know the name of the song when musashi is running?? @ 5:10

and where to find it?? =/

    its really cool!! XD

  • Amo este juego me trae gratos recuerdos de mi infancia ^^

  • Yeah, this game was basically amazing.

Rebought in on ebay awhile back, and right after the Vambee's come to town and you gotta go into the basement in the bar, it freezes for me. :\

  • this game was THE SHIIT

  • I remember playing this game up to the point when I got the wind something. Wind blade? I don't know. It was long ago :(

  • the wind scroll :)

  • wind scroll

  • haha lol.....i dunno where my vid went...but i played the whole game in like 6 hours...like normal playing...but i taped it at the same time lol...and i put it on my cpu and made it go really fast xD! it was mad....the vid ended up being like 30 mins long lolol

  • Oh man, This game is, was, and always will be PURE GENIUS! I love EVERYTHING about this game! I used to own both the game that came with the FFVIII Demo and the demo disc that had the Musashi game demo on it along with MediEvil, Coolboarders, and those other games. I also own the sequel to Brave Fencer Musashi, "Samurai Legend Musashi". It's not a bad game, and I enjoy the game's music and anime style shading, it does NO JUSTICE to the original Brave Fencer Musashi. I'd KILL to get BFM back!!!!!

  • ''practise'' speed run you know!!! That's like a double negative!! Lol Tetsuya Nomura's artwork kicks ass...

  • This game was the may favorite for years. I love how they tied in the game with the history of the real Musashi and Kojiro. I bought the movie not long ago, simply titled "Samurai". Awesome game.

  • He he, I remember the head thing. The music was quite cute.

  • This was on a demo disc! The one I'm looking for.. had this, Spyro, Medievil.. bustamove I think and some other.. Does anyone have it?

  • Nope, sorry. And there's a demo disk for this?

  • Yup.. well not FOR Musashi, but it had this same level on it.

  • I have a demo disc from PlayStation Underground that has a few Musashi levels on it, but I don't think that's the one you're talking about =/

  • i had it but it is gone. did the first level of this demo have the head falling? cause if it does i know the disc your talking about

  • It had this whole level up to the boss. Then it had other games.. Miedievil 1, Gran tourismo, and bustamove..4 i think. I'm lookin for it because I want the menu music.

  • yeah thats the one, it also had bugs life, coolboarders 4, metal gear solid, tomb raider 3, wild 9, and some others that i dont know the titles for. it was made in 1998 and was callesd CD interactive

  • That's the one!.. i dont think I ever played wild 9.. :| Well maybe I can find it by name.

  • i remmeber my first play about running from that head.... i always get hit by rocks that head was so close that i can dodge rocks now lol (i mean the head was really close!!!)

  • Who could forget this classic. I remember wandering around in some god forsaken forrest for WAY too long at one point. Great game though.

  • lmao me too

  • I hope they put this on the ps3 server

  • I think this game is a lot of fun and I've also never even played the full version of FF8.

Using Gunshot on the statues will destroy them much quicker.

  • oooo thanks for the tip!

  • Hey a lot of people remember this game for itself, and not just the FFVIII demo. And it was a brilliant game. One of Squaresoft's best, I might add. Ever since Enix joined with them, almost all of their games (with the exception of Kingdom Hearts II) suck.

  • Cool, I'm glad people still remember this game! :D I agree with Square-Enix sucking for the most part, Dragon Quest VIII was pretty good though.

  • I hate the Dragon Quest series, personally.

  • yeah we all do...

  • Maybe I haven't played a LOT of Square-Enix games, but does it seem like Squaresoft game characters had more of an attitude? And that the game worlds were more fluid and not afraid to be sillier or strange? It just seems to me like SE takes itself very seriously while Squaresoft didn't, or didn't as much.

  • This is one of my favorite games of all time.

  • not a world record or anything but pretty dam good

  • I remeber that great game.Good Time.I still have that game and its so nice. Its my favorite game on PS1.I wish they do a remake one day but on Xbox 360.What do you think?

  • doubt it would be on 360 but ps3...maybe but then again this was one of the extremely great games that somehow failed to get as popular as it should have been so once again....i doubt it.

  • I remember this game. Good times.

  • yeah you should make a speedrun vid of the whole game. i've been trying to find speedrun movies for this game but haven't been able to find any.

  • I never heard of a demo disk for 8 (probably because I had the PC version), so this is my first time actually seeing BFM. It looks a little cheesy, like Evolution Worlds but with gameplay =D

  • Oh it's cheesy to the point of tongue-in-cheek self-satire. The absurdity factor is one thing I like about this game, it doesn't take itself seriously at all.

  • Ah, Musashi! I was so close to beating it if I could remember, but then I had to return the game. =|

  • Run, Musashi, run!

Good job! By the way, do you plan to get the perfect picture at the end as well? Just curious.

  • Not for this speedrun. You need to find all the Bincho Fields and Minkus, then buy all the action figures, which would take waaaaaaay too long. I did get it on my last playthrough though.
