Dutch is in intself a German dialect. "Dutch" and "Deutsch" are even the same word. Belgium and the Netherlands were both provinces of the Deutsche Reich. I learned my history lessons!

@TheSunmanho Actually, there is no such word as "Dutch" in the Dutch language. It is only used by the English speaking world. Besides that, it is not a German dialect, but a fullfledged GermaNIC language like English and Swedish. You might want to look that up in a language family tree.

Oh and Belgium and the Netherlands have only been occupied territories during Napoleon and WW2. Other than that, we've been an independent republic and monarchy for quite a few centuries.
