  • LOL...go, Rachel!

  • I don't like this guy.

  • justin biber

  • Ms. Madow call me! I can turn bring you back to the light.... 888-6969

  • I can't tell if Rachel is male or female...

  • Is that even a human or is it some kind of dam creature.

  • We don't need to "figure" it out. The answer is no. No, we are not. Someday soon maybe, but not now.

  • That's a girl?

  • Collectivist airhead.

  • dumb bitch cunt donkey-fart retard... sorry, I have tourette

  • Why would someone name their son "Rachel" is supposed to be ironic like "A boy named sue" or something?

    *Whispers in ear*

    THAT'S A WOMAN?!

  • Liberals are such backward thinking, anti-commonsense social fascists that to even begin to comprehend something as dynamic and awe inspiring as the marvel of the Hoover Dam is beyond them. They'd want it removed in order to "restore" the natural habitat. I wonder when Obama and the EPA will MoveOn the idea of taking out the Hoover Damn? Hypocrisy is the religion of progressive liberalism and Denial is the name of their God.

  • When did the karate kid get his own show?

  • We already have the technology to harvest energy from all kinds of rivers and streams without having to build a monster dam. It's called The Holden HP Turbine. Search it if you really care.

  • Funny thing is, as clean as hydro electric is, the environuts don't like them, they are taking existing ones down and don't want new ones built. And Maddow? Yeah, that thing has got a penis.

  • Shes got the biggest hands I've ever seen.

  • Ever hear of the Keystone Pipeline Rach?

  • Why does she have a pen in her hand?

Is that to show she can write and is smart?

  • What a stupid cunt.

  • hey, paul from the wonder years is back on TV!

  • I really want to like these videos. The production value is there, the talent is there, but the words that come out of all these promos for MSNBC's 'Lean Forward' campaign do nothing but lean to one side a spectrum. Fine, you can have your opinionated anchors, but have an equal amount on both sides and let viewers decide. Instead, we see a network (among others) that caters to a niche audience that continues to fall in ratings, all while doing nothing to actually move conversations 'forward.'

  • That is one huge dyke.

  • Total Leftist Illiteracy. To start with Rachael, you should begin by reading about the life of James J. Hill, who was the genius behind starting the transcontinental railroad which he financed ENTIRELY with private capital. The government railroad took much longer to build, was way more expensive, and ended up going to routes where the members of congress lived, rather than being directed towards actual business like James J. Hill's railroad.

  • lean forward=bend over

  • So THATS what happened to that guy from the Wonder Years

  • Let's build a massive new pipeline, to show we can still build big things!

How about new nuclear power plants!

Oh yeah, the liberals like Maddow don't want that stuff. She is a huge dope.

  • She should have stood at the "Big Dig" to say this, maybe the part where the roof caved in and killed someone...

Can we still do this? With our inefficiencies and cost overruns and delays and project changes and environmental oversight?

No... sorry, we can't. But we can try to do a huge project that finally costs 15-20 times the expected cost, takes 5 times as long as projected, and fails and kills someone soon after completion.

Lean Forward... into the collapsing ceiling.

  • I trust that Rachel Maddow will support another national project like the Keystone XL Pipeline, right?

  • @AtticusWolfstein I guess not since it was turned down today

  • Hoover Dam is a government project begun at a time when America was broke. Because it was a government project, it required nothing more than will and manpower, while Biz sat on its hands

Maddow waves the flag like every other American clone and obscures this more important point in favor of some misty eyed daydreaming

Poor choice of product, creating the Big Dig's failure, is not an exclusively liberal failing; conservatives produce War and the XL Pipeline & claim they are good for business

  • Ironic that she went out to Hoover Dam to do this spot. She could have stayed at 30 Rock and done a spot on Rockefeller Center, which was also a huge Depression-Era project.

Of course, the difference is that Rockefeller Center/Plaza was privately financed.

  • Right on Rachel!

  • @greiner3 - I noticed that you studiously avoided the first three sentences of my comment, choosing to selectively parse one sentence, thus avoiding its context to what I was trying to say. Perhaps a refresher on civics is in your future --the government derives its power from the populous (though less in the last 40 years, in my opinion). It derives its funding from the populous. "Government projects" are far less noble these days --many are pork barrel wastes designed to garner votes.

  • Good job Rachel, well said.

  • @Bruce1529 Sorry, no it wasn't "well said."

  • Most everything truly great in this nation started as a government project.

These anti-government folks do not understand that they are handing their sovereignty over to huge corporations that feel no loyalty to the nation or its people.

Fox News propaganda has been effective. We are suffering the effects of it right now.

  • Boy... most of the posters on this very excellent video are completely clueless! They have no idea what she is talking about. When the "top comment" is about anti-intellectualism, that doesn't even address what she is talking about, you know they didn't even think about what she said.

Major fail on the comment section.

This country is doomed because of stupid, selfish, knee-jerk conservatives!

  • Such a handsome young fellow he is, love his outfit, especially his hat, lol!!

  • Rachel Maddow speaks of government as some mystical, ethereal 'being.' Does she not understand that the entity is completely derivative of the people. That these grand plans stem from people, are financed by people toiling in the private economy, and are built to serve the people's interests? The whole notion of these commercials is asinine. "Governments make these happen." There is no such thing as a government project. Taxpayers fund infrastructure, not governments.

  • @nosidepb "There is no such thing as a government project." You missed your HS civics classes. The people elect representatives who pass, carry out and enforce laws. It's called Repulicanism. government collects taxes used 'as a common good' for governmental purposes. That's the nature and name of your party. Even if you call yourself 'Tea Party(ists) you still have to vote Republican or have no real chance of changing the system. But then it's called Democracy. Do you aspire to be a Democrat?

  • No wonder MSNBC's ratings are so low.

  • "Truth has nothing to do with the number of people it convinces.” My Momma Says Obama!

  • I suggest we get together and get the damn towers built then.

  • Damn straight woman. Now get your ass back in the kitchen.

  • Or we could have solar panels from calif. to NY

  • Cant we just build 30 trillion windmills instead?

  • When they built the Hoover Dam, The government was smaller and wasn't filled with regulations and red tape we didn't have unions, you worked hard , we had gold to back are money. Im not sure but i dont think illegals did any of the work!!!! She should also mention there was hardly any entitlements or welfare. Today we would have to hire minority company's ...What Im sayn Rachel is it wouldn't be built today unless China did it for us!!!!!!Why do people listen to her?

  • @NewLawLV Couldn't have said it better myself!!

  • How long are they planning to show this commercial on MSNBC????? We get your point, Maddow: the Hoover Dam was a big, important project and there are others out there. Enough!!!

  • Yeah you would never be able to build that today because some little fish wouldn't be able to jump over that damn thing and spawn upstream. haha

  • Awesome point Hookalaka!

  • "The reason the ad is so funny is that nobody thinks liberals such as Maddow would support anything like the Hoover Dam today. The Hoover Dam is a marvel. But by today’s green standards, it is a crime against nature. If you tried to build it, the Natural Resources Defense Council and Greenpeace would be in court tomorrow blocking it, with Ms. Maddow cheering them on.

...Ironically, liberals love building highways and bridges, but loathe making it affordable to drive on them." --Jonah Goldberg

  • Lean forward. You go first, Rachel.

  • "HURRR ONLY THE GOVERNMENT CAN BUILD GIANT THINGS!!!!"

Sorry, private companies, you have to stop building all them things. It's impossible now, according to the great seer Dykezilla.

  • That's a BIG dyke.

  • I wonder how many women construction workers and truck drivers she tried to pick up for sex after filming this commercial?

  • If government hadn't funded Hoover Dam, hundreds of west coast towns of cities wouldn't exist, tens of thousands of business wouldn't have existed, millions of Americans wouldn't have lived there, and the absence of the dam's hydroelectric power wouldn't have been available to power the aircraft industry that wouldn't have existed which helped us win WWII. That's what freaking government is for! GROWING THE NATION!

  • preach, rachel! we LOVE U!

  • I want to hear her opinion of the Keystone Pipeline. It's another huge national project!

  • Had Rachel and MSNBC been around during the construction of Hoover Dam, they would have been on the front line of criticizing the profit motives of Morrison-Knudsen.

  • If only she actually cared about the environment and resource use, she’d have discovered the DISMAL record for government “infrastructure” projects. Google “Teton Dam” and “Bureau of Reclamation”. Maddow and he crack team of party boosters clearly didn’t do any research whatsoever. Don’t know much about history, especial on Hoover. Sheesh.

  • youtube.com /watch?v=BwVUHHFgalE

See another great american project that only cost $500,000 - a great american dog park. Another great Obama success story, putting your stimulus to work!

  • Dear lord, these comments are all fucking stupid.

  • What a fucking cunt.

  • So awesome. Why don't we hear candidates talking about big things like this? oh that's right, they're more interested in pointing fingers instead of dreaming big. le sigh

  • I LOVE THIS TV AD!!! Everytime I see it I think, "Oh My God!! What a Magnificent, Awe inspiring, large, beautiful DYKE!!"

hey, I'm talking about the Hoover Damn people...

  • @rleary1 I'm embarrassed that I did not see the irony of this ad much earlier. What's equally meaningful is that most "progressives" would try to "block" such an environmentally offensive project.

  • Comment removed

  • The Hoover Damn? That monstrosity wouldn’t be necessary if the Private Sector didn’t need a power-source to light up the Vegas Strip--that’s the real achievement here. Maddow’s the type of guy who buys a brand new, fully-loaded, customized sports car in 20 minutes at a dealership complete with an espresso-bar and massage lounge… then stand in line for 2 hours in an unairconditioned DMV (with the wrong papers); and is simply awe-stricken by the wonders of Government. Who are these people!?

  • holy shit. it's paul from the wonder years in a hard hat!!!

  • Oh God, where to start? Leftists are always claiming Hoover did nothing (didn't spend enough) to "pull America out of the great depression". Hello Rachel? See that Hoover dam thing? Ya, that's right. Hoover. He was "stimulating" the economy big time and foolishly raised spending 50% over his term. Only the thing is, these government projects only made the depression worse, stretching it out over an unprecedented 16 years until 1946 when the war ended. She can't see what is right in front of her.

  • If you stop at 0:09, she kinda resemble the engineer from tf2 going into NOPE.AVI mode

  • Who's the skinny dude in the hardhat?

  • THANKS FOR USING YOUR HANDS SO MUCH MR BLUE HAT, ME IDIOT ME NEED HAND BIG MOVEMENT TO GET POINT

  • Go call one of the people from the age group that built these projects a Socialist..They are your grandparents,if they are alive and ask them if they are socialists..? Humans are social creatures, and if there is a society, then there is going to be a certain amount of socialism inherent to ANY society.the U.S Military,SS,Medicare..Im not saying there perfect here, but come on..calling someone a socialist for commenting that these projects take a Nation not individual is not socialism, its FACT!!

  • Who is this dapper chap?

  • Is that Paul from the Wonder Years?

  • Except that Hoover was a failure, and this project along with many others failed to improve the economy.

Ironically, the left continues to blame Hoover for the depression as if he were some laissez-faire extremist, when he was in fact a major interventionist.

  • Rachel Madcow is a communist/marxist/fascist idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alright, lets measure this up: Hoover Dam, built in the 30s as a gov't project, took 5 years, and stands 1244 ft tall.

Empire State Building, built in the 30s by private industry, took 15 months, and stands 1250 ft tall.

Don't think much more needs to be said...

  • What a load of bull--- this woman(?) is using what the hard working men did years ago to push forward obama's socialist/marxist agenda to control the country. We see right through you. You are an embarrassment to this country.

  • Silly lesbian...while yes, that project was created by a "stimulus" package it was aimed at people who knew they were going to have to "WORK" for it, not like the most recent stimulus pkg created by your savior BHO... who's "stimulus" was primarily directed toward the lazy & entitlement minded sheep who voted for him. His/their primary goal is to lull them into keeping them in power with the promise of more handouts and reparations.

  • @cuttheloop first of all, you're wrong. secondly, was it necessary to reference her sexuality?

  • I remember him! That's the really nerdy guy from that movie "Revenge of the Nerds"

  • Soooo rachel and her libgressive buddies are now going to SUPPORT hydro-electric dams? Cause they have shut down 100% of every attempt to even consider large scale hydro-electric ANYWHERE in the entire country for decades! What they hell is her "point" exactly? Before libgressives stopped any major project we used to be able to do great things? Thanks, we knew that!

now I understand MKH's outfit in the "dog park" vid! spot on!

  • yes Rachel.. Its the Hoover Damn. It was built by a great FREE country, before the socialist takeover. You make me sick by the way...

  • wait, welovesarahpalin, the "greatness" you're referring to, do you mean Hoover Dam?

  • Ruined a beautiful valley and destroyed the environment. Thanks alot you facist fucks. Lean Forward - over the edge of the dam, lean way way forward.

  • Hello... today's environmentalists would never allow this project to go forward.

  • HE'S HAWT!!!!

  • It seems to me, that the more the Federal gov't does for us, the less productive we are as a nation. We need less government, not more.

  • Another Leftist idiot

  • She would be ranting and raving to the 40-50 people that watch her a night , that this project should be stopped, if it were being designed today.. Liberals if U WEREN"T SUCH DISGUSTING PIECES OF HUMAN GARBAGE, U WOULD BE FUNNY!!!!!!

  • Leftist agenda-> Destroy California agriculture, force farmers to cap deep aquifer wells and allow the great valley rivers to flood our homes.

    Big plans, indeed!

  • Fix the levees in the Sacramanto Delta, San Joaquin and North Sacramento Valley ? No effin’ way! the Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle requires a pristine riparian habitat to survive – so lets just flood-out communities along the Sacramento river instead.

  • California

Auburn Dam project on the American River? Hell no, kayakers would lose their precious whitewater rapids, and whats more freakin’ important? kayakers or agriculture? Thats right, kayakers.

And while we’re at it? The Sierra Club and the Environmental Defense Fund headed up by that scum-trawling douchenozzle Kennedy wants Hetch Hetchy Reservoir drained and restored to its natural state of naturalness.

  • shovel ready projects huh?? we fell for that already.

  • Except the lefty freaks want to tear down all damns!! and whens the last Gov project that wasn't stopped by enviroMENTAList's ?? did they even think before making this infomercial??

  • Who's this dude?

  • Enough with the hoodies and "smart" glasses.

  • Uploaded on April 22nd, 21 days late.

  • Yeah Rachel, we get it, you're a socialist and believe that private industry sucks ... except for the private employer who puts money in your bank account of course. What a hypocrite!

Furthermore, you and your Far Left zealots are now successfully stopping all future progress throughout America. What a disgrace for a hack like you to stand there in the shadow of greatness.

  • @welovesarahpalin You completely missed her point nevertheless. Besides was Hoover a progressive or a conservative?

  • @Sevenfold120 No sir, YOU completely missed MY point!!!

  • @welovesarahpalin lol what? And Your point was? Other than calling her a socialist which makes no sense because Socialists dont hate private Industry. Perhaps you should retake your political theories course in college cause your confusing socialism with the soviet union brand of communism otherwise known as stalinism.

  • @Sevenfold120 Socialists dont hate private industry? Thats the essence of socialism. And you may want to dig those text books out or throw them away, not sure which. Confusing socialism and communism? Thats easy to do as there is little difference. Im sure you know what USSR stands for. And Nazism is a form of socialism. In fact, Nazi stands for National Socialist German Workers' Party. socialists and communists have produced the greatest evil in mankind's history.

  • @jcanavan You should of dug a little bit deeper in your books. The Party began as a nationalist group aimed at providing welfare to Germans of Aryan descent in 1919. Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP). In 1920 when National Socialist was added to the name by Hitler - From DAP to NSDAP.Nazism was not Socialism nor liberalism. Plain and simple. The manifesto was clearly anti-liberal. Same with the USSR. Everything about it stinks of Authoritarianism, not Socialism. Nothing to do with liberalism.

  • @jcanavan Point is do you consider Western Europe Socialist? What about the Scandinavian countries with all their welfare policies? Are they Socialists? If not what would you call them?

  • @welovesarahpalin The "shadow of greatness" that you speak of is the federal workload that was initiated so that people laid off by private industry could alleviate their suffering by rebuilding our country and create a substantial standard of living so that they could then reinvest in our shattered economy. How about minimizing name calling and instead having a rational and constructive conversation on the issues? Your language is more destructive than this video could ever be.

  • @welovesarahpalin That "shadow of greatness" is the Hoover Dam, a government project.

  • @welovesarahpalin First of all, the Hoover Dam was a government project.

We "far left zealots" (or "liberals", which normal people refer to them as) ended slavery, got women and blacks the right to vote, forced regulations on Wall Street, created national parks, got old and poor people the healthcare they need, and fight for the enviornment and education and equal rights for races and sexes.

You guys are the hacks that fight us EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

    Educate yourself.

  • @AWesome61696

Slavery was ended by Republicans. Guess liberals didn't get you the education you thought you got.

  • @AWesome61696 So we could build another Hoover dam today if we let the liberals run the show?

Sweet, it would be just like the Liberal city of Boston setting up the Big Dig. 5-fold cost overrun, took almost three times as long as expected, and killed someone shortly after it was done due to construction failures?

Who wouldn't support a plan like that? I bet you could set up something to kill even more people at an even higher cost with Federal Backing.

  • @gekkobear The failures of the Big Dig were ultimatley products of poor planning, not poor policy. The US govt. built the Panama Canal, Hoover Dam, interstate highway system, countless bridges and tunnels. Where I live, our city government built the most extensive public transit system in North America. All of these government-invested projects create jobs, improve quality of life, and in the long term, save money.

  • @AWesome61696 poor planning is poor policy

  • @gekkobear

Corporations screw up too, and often they screw up worse. I'm thinking of cases like the Exon Valdez oil spill, the San Bruno pipeline burst due to poor maintenance (killed eight) and the Wisconsin coal ash spill into Lake Michigan which release toxic chemicals like arsenic and mercury into a major supply of drinking water. That's not to mention the flammable drinking water in Wyoming thanks to hydro-fracking. Now the oil companies want to build Keystone? No thanks.

  • So Rachael, the parent company for MSNBC, GE wants to get some dams built so they can sell some generators?

  • Another well educated idiot.

  • @lima33ful what does that mean?

  • And someone please tell me what project we have in coming up like this

  • This is a joke

  • @wpk01 Yeah, you have "substance", that's for sure. Also, why should i debate with someone who is going to twist my words so it fits their agenda? Where did I mention that Rachel is a "problem"? And as far as Rachel not being a person with worthy "ideas" and "thoughts"...well, that IS true. She, just like you, is a person that doesn't have her own "ideas" and "thoughts". Nothing you or her say is in any way original..it's just regurgitated liberal crap. Think for yourself once in awhile.

  • Comment removed

  • What does GE need some government contracts so they sent out this man to spread propaganda about national project (government contracts). I can guarantee theres something here.

  • That is one ugly dude. Stupid liberals will eat this up...just because she has a hard hat on and is standing in front of the Hoover Dam, they think she knows everything about it. What a joke. Yuck!

  • @fordno99 She only claims to know that Hoover Dam is an incredible public works that America accomplished. The fact is a project like Hoover Dam was an investment in ourselves(jobs and taxes) that helped us get out of the Great Depression However you wouldn't get that if you weren't listing to what she was saying because you're too hung up on her being a gay person.

  • All this is about is people like you and Rachel cheerleading for govt. I certainly don't need a lesson from you on the construction of the Hoover Dam and it's purpose. To you and Rachel, it's purpose was to prove to everybody the power and need of govt. It's purpose was actually to provide power to states like California, Nevada and Arizona...but don't let that get in the way of your cheerleading.

And, as far as her being gay, I don't care. That's her problem.

  • @fordno99 That's her "problem"? Not much more I think to add to my point there. She's not a person with worthy ideas and thoughts. She is a "problem". You're really operating at the surface level. Come back when you're ready to debate about actual substance.

Besides creating jobs, in your words also "provide power to California, Nevada, and Arizona". Jeez that sounds terrible. You're just making all my points for me. The wild west isn't coming back man. Better get used to it.

  • @wpk01 Leftists want to destroy the great public works of the 19th and 20th century. Hetch Hetchy Reservoir tops that list in California. Leftists have blocked the Auburn Dam on the American River. Leftists have blocked levee repair efforts from Bakersfield to Redding. Leftist have blocked construction of small overflow basins in Yolo wier/Colusa county. Leftists have blocked watershed retention in the Klamath. deep water wells? no way!

The list is nearly endless, shall we list more?

  • Bullshit. Projects like that were made long before the government started their regulations and interferance.

Yesterday, I saw this ad just before the movie, Atlas Shrugged and the contrast was unmistakable.

Maybe this leftist twit should have filmed in Texas where the failed Collider Project uprooted long time residents and cost millions for nothing.

Government isn't the solution. It's the problem.

  • @shooterqqqq Yeah you're right. We do such wonderful things for society when we deregulate. i.e. Deregulation of banks and the current economic crisis. Human's will take take take just like any other wild animal in the forrest when we in the position to do so. Just like a wolf over a kill. We need regulation to make this whole living together thing work. Some bad decisions will be made but the Hoover Dam doesn't build itself. Hard work(jobs) and taxes do.

  • @shooterqqqq Don't be afraid of progress too.

  • Brilliantly put! Love it!

  • @plymouths MSNBC = LEMMINGS

  • I LOVE THIS! MSNBC = PROGRESS

  • @macfreak21 MSNBC =lemmings
