If he'd released this straight after IOU (instead of pop Goes my Love) i think he'd have had another Electro monster on his hands - would have been a big pop hit like IOU too. 1983 what a great year.
Yeah, his vocal rocks but the synths man - I love the sequencing in this, the bass line is soooo sleak. And don't get me started on that perfect hi-hat (not kidding).
Vocals Yeah... I agree... The vocals rock on this cut, and I think it is the best thing that Arthur Baker mixed. Frankie Knuckles ran this plate at his first, and only self owned club called The Power Plant @ 1015 N. Halsted in Chicago Il. I did some VIP screening in the Dj Booth for FK, and worked at the record pool/record store where he got most of his support from... this is the perspective from which I speak on this.
These vocals were awesome and I loved singing along as we pumped it out! I would get angry if we went out of NYC and they would play the dub only! It was the vocals baby!
@1alexcncmac That's what I just asked on Freez's song AEIOU - I thought the lead singer was John Rocca, but now that I've come back here and listen, I can tell that it's not. They sound VERY similar though.
i have HUNTED for this song for so long now not knowing the title or artist. Only how great it was hearing this on the radio in the 80s as part of Big Apple Mix Vol 2. This is epic. i LOVE it
very rocca, rocca, roccca is still moving people like never before, marvelous intrumental, sound marvelous darling, move your cucu darling, lets dance suckers, here this, this not snoop doggy dog, and all that crapy music of today, if make your grandmother shake her butty also. awesome rocca, awesome.
is anyone out there that can tell me or has side B to this track? I lost around 300 tracks back in 86 and slowly but surely I´m getting them back. Thanks to the creators of the internet and youtube. please holla and let a nigga know. one.
do you have side B to "I want to be real"? that beat is the fucking shit to blend other shit with. The way it starts is what can set any fucking party off. holla if you have and are willing to post. one
actually this pop locking music/ breaking however house adopted it in its mixes. I believe Farley Jack Master funk was the first to use it on the famous 102.7 BMX!!
Been looking everywhere for this... I have only been able to download the "piano version" of this dancefloor killer. Is there anywhere it can be downloaded/bought in decent sound quality? I want to throw it in some sick chi-house mixes. Love from Norway.
I woke up this morning with this song on my mind and had to take it here!!! I love this song and have had some good memories in the "Chi" behind this one. This is considered a Classic in its time, and still nice to dance off of.
Haven't listened to this in some 20 years. Great to have found it. Given sound effect technology at that time, it just beats today's sound engineering hands down.. sounds more alive.
john been looking for you for years to say hi to, nearly found you about a year ago, but not enough info, i was looking for vag,and f*^% me if after 20+ years i got an email from vag and you video was sitting next to mine on u tube! strange day!
