  • Hopefully this is motivation. I'm 162 lbs, 21 years old and I can rep out 100lb dumbbells, that's right, 21 times.

    Pussy weight.

  • come on ash!!! catch that pokemon ;D

  • where's the bodybuilder?

  • sick! This is in Terrace B.C? I'm only an hour and a half away!!! Keep up the good lifting.

  • @Gooknukem 1 1/2 away? You in Rupert or Smithers? If so make your way in for the odd workout. The owner (Ashley) is a pretty badass guy. He always likes to see new faces.

  • @jlinteris Rupert, I'll give it a go next time I'm in.

  • the first guy did his reps a lot better then the second guy, he had way more control of the weight

  • i did not know guys could be name ashely lol

  • maybe lower the weight and do real reps? i think you would enjoy not looking like an idiot and not being injured.

  • @imtonasty Looking like an idiot? Clearly you are a beginner/keyboard warrior who has no knowledge about lifting.

  • @imtonasty what video were you watching bro? why dont you clarify for everyones benefit what he did wrong?

  • Wtf he when 1.2.3.4.5.6.8.1.6.4.1 lmaoooo

  • @ryanmeat1029 Ha, ha!! Yeah we count in a specific way to make the set have an easier breakdown. Like 10 reps could be counting 1-5, 1-5 so that it doesnt seem so high rep. I see why you would be confused though.

  • Sweet...get full range of motion...

  • @neelonghunglow If he fully extends his arms, then that takes tension of the shoulders, thereby placing tension on the triceps. Full range of motion isn't always the best way to build muscle.

  • lets combine olympic, strongman, powr and bodybuilding for the ultimate combo of siv=ze,power, strength, and explosive ability as well as incredible thickness and density.fantastic job man!

  • Such a sad song to lift to. 1:10

  • Pretty beasty man. Keep it up

  • You are so lucky to have a reliable workout partner that actually motivates you and doesn't get pissed or butt hurt if you beat him in a lift

  • superstrong

  • Thumbs up for .. let's go !

  • Seemed like since the bodybuilder went slower he did better.

  • @LifeFitness420 yes going slower is always better and much safer.

  • @LifeFitness420 prob cause bodybuilders do slow movement and powerlifters look for exlosivness

  • @redv8jeep Yes i know thats what they both do. But the power lifter is not really lifting like that and the bodybuilder is going slower. Slower means harder thats all i am saying.

  • @LifeFitness420 cant argue its harder, but i was just stating that it was probably the reason hes doing that. slow is harder (forced negatives, or having a tempo on the way down), but still they go for explosivness so he probably lifts that way most of the time. why point that out lol

  • I'm thinking he should be working his legs instead...

  • @Muzz730 I've got a lot of squatting videos. Nothing to shit your pants over but take a look. I squat twice a week.

  • BS call. The powerlifter wasn't even doing full range of motion.

  • Nice.. just dont give up on calves. I didnt have a good calves when i started (4years ago). But now i have really nice calves... some people say you just have it or not.. ure born with it or u not... bullshit.. train them nice and it will grow. True, its harder than other body parts. Some people are overtraining them!

For me it's the best to work them twice a week 4 sets per like 20-30 reps. Good luck :)

  • Second guy is bouncing the dumbbell

  • bad form, you can tell by their physiques.

  • is this in terrace,B.C?

  • @changuskahn Yes it is. Northcoast Health and Fitness. Been there I take it?

  • if there were really 100s" why were you putting them next 2 the 60"....... i think i smell a fake look at the end of the vid that guy puts them back but the weights around them, starting from the left, are 60 then a few down to the right start to get higher into the 80s he sets them in the middle hmmm?????

  • @bigj42088 Hmmm, ORRRRRRRR, we had the 100's stacked on top of the 60's so we didnt have to carry them from 25' before starting a set. No you are right, 240+ guys use the 60's for hard sets! You caught me. O_O

  • @jlinteris Your 240+?? What the!? How tall are ya?

  • @jlinteris dont bother replying to people like this or youll be on youtube all day long. its sad how many people will say fake or photoshopped at shit that has no reason to be faked

  • @bigj42088 Good work, detective.

Now on to another mystery, why are you a fucking dumbass?

  • steak,eggs and milk strength!

  • why does the first guy have a girl name lol

  • Comment removed

  • who use INZER .... like

  • you guys are both awesome thats a big weight for shoulders in any circle

  • Good job on the comment in the beginning of the video before you get a lot of haters... lol

  • 1st guy was more impressive

  • You guys seem to be regulars there you should maybe ask them to change the music they'd probably listen to you

  • @TheBalisto ha, ha... the 1st guy is the owner of the gym. It was early am so the clients were older. He picks music based on the clients that use the gym. In the afternoon the music is harder as a lot of younger people use it. All good. Business is business. My mind was on the set, not the music.

  • @beast444100 strength has nothing to do with reps, its good form that determines those good reps.

  • @castroiscool Strength has everything to do with rep form? Try curling 30KG with good form, now try 2KG, which do you think will have better form?

  • That's some good motivation

  • While he may have done more reps the bodybuilder gets much more muscle fatigue with his slow controlled movements. This is why he is a bodybuilder ... slower movements with perfect form create greater muscle development.; while speed reps allow for a greater volume of weight to be moved

  • yaaaaasss powerlifters r better!!!!

  • Cool, you guys are having fun and getting in a great workout! Keep the competition going!!!

  • I wish I could do that much as easily as you guys. Awesome!

  • I'm going to assume these two are Canadian.

  • my cousin is 19 and does this.. and hes also not on roids. lulz gg

  • lol, that´s more bench press than shoulder press! Put the bench in 90 degrees and make a new video!!!

  • @KumaGoku Shit you are right. That wasn't even like a bench press either. That was so low that was like an extreme decline press. No wonder the bottom of my pecs were sore. You are like a weightlifting investigator!

  • @jlinteris Poor people who need sarcasm! ;-)

  • @KumaGoku I dunno about your eyes but the bench is 90 degrees, it is just him kinda arching his back making it look like that.

  • @SilentWalk18 haha, watch the sign on his shirt, it shows right up to the sky! Also you see after taking the weights in startposition that he lays his back backwards! Now watch the vid again nad say again...it is 90 degrees bla bla bla.....stupid!

  • @KumaGoku look at the bench and look at the water bottle next to him, the bench is 90 degrees, it is him arching his back due to the massive weight, his chest is popping up making the sign on his shirt go up :)

  • @KumaGoku you are a moron good sir

  • is it duff man with the camera filming the first guy

  • nice work dude , u are strong

  • Love the song in the background for the second person. Stand By Me. Probably helped.

  • was Dane Cook spotting the second guy? lol.

  • Nice work fellas

  • I guzzle cum

  • @AaronCarterRocks Cool story, brah.

  • You both have great arms and shoulders.

I would be DEAD happy to have at least half of your weight :P

  • @Tim9666 i do more than half their weight

  • @bscutajar I ment their body weight. Not the weights being lifted

  • @Tim9666 oh i see :P

  • You are strong. Your friend is gay.

  • do u bench with barbell or dumbell?

  • yeah first guy way better form bro work on your form slow down . quit stopping at the top to just let the muscle rest.

  • "Nothing you can press, can make me love you less ... i stand by you!"

  • just holding 100lb in each hand is an accomplishment but the first person had much better form and such

  • @turtleh I am the 2nd lifter and I agree with you 100%. Ashley (1st guy) definitely had better form.

  • @jlinteris Yeah if you did the full form like the last two of your reps then you would have done a lot less. HOWEVER the hardest part of the press is getting the weight moving which is demonstrated well. I think both lifts look good and are good form - just are different exercises. If you were practicing fighting styles or football the second would be a better athletic approach. Both are good.

  • hes strong

  • Who was who?

  • @Uncivilization the second man is the uploader

  • inspiring, made it look easy! Keep up the good work both of you

  • maybe he can lift 200lbs but he cant squat that xD -no legs-

  • @PayQPayQ maybe you should watch his squat vids... :)

  • actually the 2nd guy should get pwned not the first one (ash).

  • Comment removed

  • The dude filming has got a pretty awesome voice lol.

The second guy engaged more of his body in the presses, whereas the first guy did the reps pretty isolated from just shoulders and arms.

  • In 1964 at Sana Monocia California at Muscle Beach I saw Joe Prezant do a seated press from his chest with the barbell taken at his shoulders-no overhead hand off and lowering it partially. He was about 5.11 and 250 pounds and he did 315. He could also 40-degree incline 420 and dead lift 635. This was in the preroid era.

  • @Weh1921 I would LOVE to be able to barbell press 315 from my chest. At my strongest when I did this I might have managed 275 off of my chest. 315 is pretty freakin strong. He probably benched 500+ on flat bench. Something I dream about :)

  • @Weh1921 wooot sana monica is the best beach ever full of damn creativity so many things in there man i miss california =p

  • OHHHH YEEEH! PUT IT IN THERE! HONKEY TONK MAN IS OUTTALINE!! ELIZABETH WENT RIGHT AND I WENT LEFT! OHH YEEHH!

  • Wow... I'm like 105lbs, lift meeeeeeeeee!!! I want to fly! Like a unicorn!

  • the first guy uses much better form and is stronger...

  • the guy narrating is legendary

  • I shoulder press 315 for reps I'm Derek poundstone no big deal

  • Good form and i completely agree with not locking out, and i'm sorry but your friend recording sounds homo.

  • This should be titled real men vs pretty boys

  • Good work guys i liked it! Cheers!

  • For the doubters, these ARE 100 lb dombells, you can count the number of plates on either side of the handles. Each one is about 10 lbs.

  • @turdstain19 *You're (if you're going to insult someone for being ignorant then don't be ignorant yourself).

  • @trashcompactable You were the one coming here acting like an asshole, so why don't you just shut the fuck up

  • @Problems123 Lol, you're ignorant TOO!! Sounds like someone has some personal problems(123).

  • @trashcompactable Is that all you can say is "ignorant"? you've said it 3 times, come back when you have new material.

  • how the fuck do you lift this much weight with that music playing......

  • @pkidro lol no shit. i was wondering the same thing

  • Def not 100lb dumbbells. Maybe 100lbs altogether.

  • I can't wait til I get back in the gym!!!!

  • Damn right you dont go to failure or full dip/lock on heavy sets, thats a surefire way to damage joints

  • Gay ass music for a gym

  • both done it at diff speeds

  • DER JUDEN!!!!

  • Hey buddy I notices in one of your earlier comments that you said your calves are very hard to develop. Biking regularly builds huge calves! Just thought I'd let you know because I don't work my calves hardly at all and I have huge calves from biking.

  • Thats some amazing strength, Do you guys train to failure or not??? I want to get as strong as that but some people say for strength don't go to failure and some say you have to :/

  • @Kittorify i feel its best to do your last set to failure

  • @Svv33txFTW Thanks but I wanted advice from jlinteris

  • @Kittorify We do on some days. Most of the time I DO NOT train until failure and leave a rep in the tank. This is with all of my excercises. The grinders really stress the CNS and I do best with strength gains training to failure maybe twice a month at the most. Thanks for the comment.

  • @jlinteris Thanks a lot, it explains a lot. One more thing, how should I structure my workouts and frequency for strength? eg. Full body, upper lower, 3-4 day splits etc.

  • @jlinteris What do you mean "really stress the CNS"? Are you saying that training til failure is bad??

  • @Kittorify From what I've seen in the gym, you don't have to train til failure to get muscle gains.

  • @Kittorify An important note after watching this video, if you want to get bigger, than lift heavy and only do 6-8 reps, and if you want to get toned, do lots of reps. That's always what I've heard. It makes sense as well, since you burn more calories with high rep exercises.

  • You should be ashamed to do those partial reps in public.

  • Why don't you have nice padded dumb bells?

  • Haha these camera guys are jerks i expect them to say "do a barrel roll!"

  • typical bodybuilders/powerlifters doing partial lifts & counting them as a rep--these actions would be immediately disqualified by olympic weightlifting judges-- sorry guys you might make 6 - 8 actual full reps at best

  • @tragit104 i am sorry i didnt know that dumbell shoulder press was an olympic weightlifting style, dickhead!

  • @tragit104 Actually this method will help you to build muscle faster, and you keep the tension on the muscles by not fully extending. When you lockout, you are giving your muscles a break. Hence, the guy locked out of the last few repetitions because he was fatigued.

  • @tragit104 Sorry, I didn't know shoulder pressing was an oly lift.

  • Anyone else notice the background music?

  • @purevolume27 YES its the only reason he could put up that extra rep

  • my point try doing full reps lol

  • u 2 look the same

  • how about you fully extend every rep next time?

  • Is this like 2 100lb dumbels i.e. 200lbs total, or is it 2 50lb dumbels for total of 100lbs? Just askin man.

  • @6SpAr6TAN69 2x100lb so 200 total.

  • @6SpAr6TAN69 what a fucking dumb question!..dickface

  • haha small calves! its allgood man, everyones body reacts differently.

  • @dopertearz4life HEY!!! lol

  • note the opra backround music ;) haha

  • Do you have any advice for shoulder pain while shoulder pressing. I was doing around 90x5-8 and I tried the 100s and only got 2, now ever since my shoulder has been killing me(its been about a month), should I completely avoid shoulder press for a while??

  • the first guy had at least 2 more in him... no homo

  • guy coaching him on really needs to be voice overs for something, or some sort of voice acting lol hes good

  • They not go really high ... weak cheaters all both.

  • the powerlifter cheated!!!!... the bodybuilder lifted them all the way up the powerlifter halfed it

  • who is the powerlifter and who is the bodybuilder

  • haha he sound like joe swanson

  • tht has too burn

  • Different goals obviously, but the BB's form is much stricter throughout.

  • i use to be able to rep the 110s for 15 . those were the days .

  • @619badazz13 That is large! I got them for 12 once and that was the best I think. You must have had a great bench press.

  • push push push push scheiß

  • IN YOUR FACE ASHLEY!

  • no wonder you look like shit do a complete movement on your presses ya halfrep pussy ass punk

  • @powerlifted LOL I will let the viewers decide if your comment is worthy after they view your video.

Everone watch his posing video. Most badass man on the planet right here!

  • @jlinteris Nice work. But yeah, might want to skip the shoulder day in favor of some leg days. I've found that you really can't "spot train" very well, you're going to have to get your legs bigger overall, and your calves will respond.

  • @jlinteris he's bigger than you by a long shot.

  • @broLAXgoalie12 fuckin rights he is. He is a big dude.

  • @jlinteris seriously there was not one locked out in the beginning until the last 2

  • @MutsuKazumaThat is the way we both do them to keep tension only on the shoulders. The reason I locked out the last few was because I was tired and was resting. Locking them out is more triceps than shoulders so we avoid it.

  • @jlinteris I wouldn#t do it cause if you never really use the full range of motion you lose it at some point and in the lowest and upper positions you don't have the strength to lift the weight, I witnessed that with people doing benchpresses without and with touching their chest and all of a sudden with the full rom they were way weaker, so I don#t like it but well to each their own

  • @powerlifted Sure they might not be complete, full movements, but they look like they have a good body to me. Also, their just seeing how many they can do for fun I'm guessing.

  • @powerlifted What's the matter, jealous because your sorry ass couldn't do 19 reps with the 40s?

  • @powerlifted half reps are at times far better for pumping blood into muscles

  • @powerlifted idiot! going so call half reps are harder than full because when your going all the way up your resting your shoulders!

  • @powerlifted wow i was expecting some little 5'5 100 pound kid, but ure a big dude hahaha.....u look like u inject synthol up ur ass though

  • @rctriplefresh5 Really? synthol up my ass, you know what that looks like do ya? youre kinda a anal injection expert are ya? why are you focusing on my ass so much is my next question? and not my gigantic pecks, or my 21 inch calfs something you normally never see, or maybe my gigantic girth and 21 inch arms, but no it was my ass,, lol

  • @powerlifted synthol isn't injected in the ass.
