Wow, he is simply the best. I had never imagined I would enjoy a jazz version of Something but WOW! It feels so good to hear Erroll Garner. I grew up listening to him on records my Dad had and on the radio on long family driving trips.
One of my favorite albums is the double album "Paris Impressions". There are 4 songs performed on a harpsichord and are fantastic!!! They are: Paris Blues, Don't Look For Me, Cote d" Azur, and When Paris Cries. If anyone can show them on youtube, it would blow a lot of people's minds!!! Merci beaucoup!!!
Where is this clip from? _ Is it available comercially?
He plays here so much more outside of his "Garner cliche" ( which was imposed on him by his handlerer(s).). If he was given and ecoraged more experimentation...
Errol Garner playing the beatles? What a great vid!!! great link between the beatles, errol garner who plays it here and then musiq soulchild who covers it yrs later
I was fortunate to see Errol Garner play in New York's Central Park (Schaefer Beer Summer Concerts-circa mid 1970s). I remember that he put a couple of large telephone books on his piano stool, sat on them, and proceeded to 'rock' the park with his piano mastery. He was a small man, but he played like a giant. Incidentally, a very young Bill Cosby followed him on the bill. That was a fun evening!
Errol Garner my husband´s Mother use to play his record´s for him when he was 4yrs old in the early 60´s. He said that Errol G. was one her favorite´s and one of the great´s off ALL-TIME !! thanx so much
Merci de publier cette video. Garner à 51 ans swinguait sur les mélodies d'artistes plus jeunes que lui. Belle leçon pour les snobs de tous poils ! Quelle musicalité !

This guy's the best. Usually the self taught musicians bring something that the academic ones don't. And Erroll is the best example of that.
