@DkDrums8 Jeremy Ellis is using the Maschine which costs about $670... Araab is using a Akai MPC 5000 which costs about $2,000. I personally would go with the Maschine. They essentially do the same thing. I've known people who have used the MPC 5000 and then later tried out the Maschine and have never looked back. They essentially do the same thing though. You won't really notice any difference unless you use these things 24/7 and even then, it's personal preference.

@yes212 I have been using MPC's for years. Ellis won the battle, hands down. It was clean, technical, and flawless. Araab is skilled on the MPC but this performance was subpar for him. There's numerous times in the routine where he is offbeat. Also, his routine isn't very musical at all. In fact, it's mostly an annoying mess. I don't care how fast he can hit the pads if he isn't doing anything interesting. He might have been "sick," but in the "I need medicine" sorta way, lol.

@superdarkmario2 I think that the best "bang for the buck" MPC right now is the MPC 1000. It uses CF memory cards so you don't need to mess with floppy disks. It has a ton of features, enough individual outputs, some built in effects (not so great but still nice to have), and they can be found on ebay for pretty decent used prices. Just make sure you buy one with functional pads!
