What about Battle: LA, the best invasion movie ever? It was the most realistic

Coming to earth for natural resources... aliens could save themselves the trouble and mine a rock from the asteroid belt... Only thing earth has that(so far as we know) that other planets don't have is chlorophyll/plants, and water close to the surface.

Plus Battle: LA was the most unique: follow the story of soldiers fighting off an endless invasion. To many movies are about the civilian/government troubles

while i absolutely love the Thing and district 9, they're hardly alien invasion movies, the Thing is simply an Alien mistakenly finds itself crashing onto our planet and from there its goal isn't to take over our planet but simply to blend in and survive.
