Hey, I happened to LIKE the Tin Machine recordings a lot (Hey! It's BOWIE, for crying in Manhattan!) -- EXCEPT the two tracks on the second one where The Gentleman rests his golden pipes and lets Hunt Sales take over on lead vocals. Big mistake. I've seen Bowie live 4 times (Glass Spider, Sound and Vision, Tin Machine 1991, and Outside) and while the Outside tour was more experimental and the Tin Machine gig a lot more intimate I have to say that this tour (S&V) was ultimatly the most entertaining.

On top of that, "Be My Wife" is one of Bowie's greatest singles.

Yeah, the big screen was used to great effect. We drove to Houston from New Orleans to an outdoor man made hill with grass. There was a full moon and lots of serious moonlight. Everybody loved the show.

cielo127, Iman had Alexandria in 2000, and David and Iman got married in 1990. But David released this song in 1977 I think. And he was already married to Angie Bowie at that time.

But I don't think it was for anybody in particular, but I'm not really sure.

I always thought that this wasn't a love song as such.

He repeats the first verse and chorus immediatly after he's sung them suggesting the lyric to be some kind of hollow spiel rather than a heartfelt plea.

The first woman rejects his come ons so he moves on to the next. A third repeat of the line "Sometimes you get so lonely" suggests this second potential partner also regects him so off he goes looking for someone else...
