How bad is it having a flame kit, or making your car just in general have it light up.. Doesnt it do anything to the motor? Cant the flame trace its way back to the engine? what if i hooked a kit up to my grand am would my car even have the power to do that?

No it wont trace its way back to the engine. You can buy flamethrower exhaust kits that allow you to create this effect with any car. Check on Ebay.
