and i would recommend you don't call peoples writing "crap" it can be offending.

I enjoyed it throuroughy, and again about the writing, as you said its a ten page book. i would like to see what YOU would put in it to make an hour and a half long movie. In my opinion, it represented HIS life. he was carol, his sister was judith, ect.

well thank you for the warning but I rather dont care if I offend. My degree includes creative, screen and adaption writing, not focused but I went through that bull so I feel I can say when I think a movies writing is crap.

I have two friends who are screenwriters by profession and they said far worse of the writing.

I love this industry alot but that is one of the reasons I HATE. IT. They just want as many tickets sold as possible, they dont care if they lie and cheat to get them.

From the parts that i've seen (working at a movie theater tends to ruin movies every now and then) the movie was surprisingly mature to the point that it unnerved me a little. I guess maybe that why i kinda liked what i saw.

The author of the book said that he wrote the book in a way that doesn't talking down to kids and that the Director (i think) of the movie was going in the same route. He even said that there will probably be a lot of people who wont like it, just like how the book started.

i couldn't agree more. i wanted so much for this movie to be good since i saw the trailer a couple of months ago. i loved that book growing up so i thought an adaptation could be nothing but awesome. that movie was really hard to watch...i almost felt like leaving but i didn't just in case it got better. yeaaa no. it was unnecessarily depressing and too "deep" for a book of that level. i don't know what this is called in film but the scenes just didn't correlate well with each other.
