if you look in the engine it looks more like a turbo than a supercharger too. but it does add a hell of a lot more horsepower so what does it matter. i love this car i plan on getting one for myself

The new Commodore and G8 ride on a chassis known as ZETA or VE. It is a Global Rear Wheel Drive chassis that was done out of the Holden facilities in AU. The VE / ZETA is really the first successful Global Architecture GM has executed. It will be the chassis the new Camaro rides on with some performance upgrades known as ZETA II.

Light weight along with strong AWHP makes for a fast car. We have a number of STi owners running our Xa coilovers. I have some time in your make and model and they are a riot to drive. The downside is they are small compared to a G8.

thats the same as comparing a truck to a corvette.
cobalts compete with other boosted 4-bangers (fwd mostly)
and the g8 competes with other similar sized vehicles (medium 4door sedan with a v8, rwd)
so of course the v8 will eat up the cobalt, but u are comparing a tuner car to an all-motor car with 8 pistons.

What's the grade of the tint you have on the g8? is it a 15%?

I have not seen too many OE LXs blow by a GTO or G8 at any kind of track. They appear to be an even match.

Whats with Gm building lower powered motors? The 6.0 in the G8 only makes 361, the 6.1 Hemi makes 425.

u Americans have destroyed this car .... it is an Australian designed and made car called Holden Commodore and we're owned by GM, then u guys get it and put that idiotic radiator grill on it and throw a supercharger at it and take all the credit ..... u did the same with our Monaro (Pontiac GTO), and the new VE ute and that looks stupid with the Pontiac grill, u guys only have the G8 because the sports modle has the V8 from a Corvette thats where the tie up is

If this car had not been "destroyed" I never would have gotten to enjoy it here in America, and I'd be very sad about that. It is a very nice car and I don't think it deserves to be selfishly kept to Australians only.
I'm taking delivery of a used G8 very soon and I'm really looking forward to it. Already put down a big down payment.

yes i ok fine have the Commodore (wat it's really called not a G8), but leave the Holden badge on it, and even if u have to change the badge don't change the front grill ... i remember wat happened to the Monaro when u put the grill on it it looks crap ... atleast the british just change it to a Vauxhall badge at don't change the grill

If they didn't change the front grille it wouldn't match how Pontiac designs their cars. Not to mention it's pretty pricey to launch an entirely new brand in America. Much cheaper to just rebadge the car and sell it under an existing brand.

its ok i def know all about the fact that we have takin many designs and we put are own flare on them there not ugly and of course people like the g8 because of the big v8 its an american car now but i wish we got the lumana back and not the g8 alot of people dont know that its not an original design but it still looks nice. if ur a car guy u can appreciate the power they threw in this car

yes i do appreciate the power they threw at it but it's so disapointing that all the people that drive this in the USA think it was an American achievement , if this is the 6.2 litre V8 then yes this is the American engine from a corvette but the chassis the suspension all the body works everything was by us and use all try and take the credit
