I think there are some explanations for the audience behaviour (I might be incorrect).
- Muse played as U2 concert pre-show.
- The people closer to the stage, waited more than 24hrs on 38C temperature before the concert.
- U2 crowd is different than Muse crowd in terms of age. It is a very mixed crowd.
- I think they were just saving up some energy for later.
I was there and, trust me, Muse did a great performance and the crowd appreciated and got loud at the end of each song

think you're right.. i just noticed it.. got so used to jumping crowds at every muse concert :)
