@atomicdonutinc yea-iv feed them crickets before-it just gets annoying because if i put the crickets in to eat sometimes the toads wont see them and the crickets will jump in the water and drown and when i take them out to eat -just you know i like feeding them waxworms as treats and mealworms averagelly-my leopard gecko also only eats mealworms but my bearded dragons will only eat crickets
what kind of lights are u using i got the amphibian ones that look like black light to imitate the amazons lighting but thise were too dim and then i tried one of the dim ones and a 25w aquarium light for fish and it seems too bright and fogs the tank up a bit........help!
No tap water. It has to be chlorine free. I use Poland Spring Water. If it's too expensive to keep buying bottled water, put tap water in a water bottle uncovered for 4 days and let the chlorine dissipate.
i just got a new toad named stumpy...i allready posted a video...he has a few green spots on him i was wondering if he will turn all green eventually??
What could i put in my spare 5 gallon tank i want somethig that eats veggies and not so much crickets its easier on my wallet plus i have a cichlid tank thats somewhat expensive. Thanks im looking for tree frogs or toads.
i am thinking about getting a fbt but i am just a beginner so these may be dumb questions but what did it cost aprox , how do you clean your tank and how often?
i got them at two different places one was petsmart and was $5.00 the other one i got from a small pet store and it was $7.00. I actually clean the tank when it gets dirty i mostly clean the filter, which helps a LOT, and just pick the toads up in your hands, or you could use a net, and put them in a container with water and air holes and clean the tank then put 'em back in it only takes about 5 or 10 minutes!
well i got most of them at petsmart or petco and there were both in the same tank. and i've had them together for a loooooooooooong time and they seem to get along ok. there shouldn't be a problem
Umm let me point something out. fire bellies are land frogs they do need access to water but a bowl is good. dont flood the tank like your doing secondly a heater is a must their tank must be in atleast 72* or more also they need a varied diet or atleast gut loaded crickets. and dusted with vitamins and calcium and you forgot the water dechlorinator.
Listen smarty pants he iz not flooding the tank he is actually doing a great job fire belly toads originated from asia in small ponds with more wter then that and fire belly toads can't be dusted with regular reptile dust b cause there ampibians! DEE DEE DEE!!!! And you don't need to dechorinate the water when u hav a filter!
well thanks for the possitive feedback. by the way, how's your tank coming along? I'm going to make a video on how to make a larger, more decorated tank for toads and newts. however this video is just a simple tank. that's the point. it's suppsosed to be easy enough for anyone to set up. if you don't like it, why don't you make a video of your tank?
Oh, well i like tanks that look natural and that also give the frogs a nice tank, i mean they are still living things i would think they would want something less plain.
Breeding is fairly easy....but there is one hard part. That is to keep the eggs and tadpoles alive. The main thing that kills them is not enough water changes. You must remember that even the eggs and tadpoles have poison and they can easily get a poison OverDose if the water is not changed.
For breeding I would first step 1 feed them, 2 put them in a rain chamber or constantly mist them, 3 put in live plants for the eggs so the tadpoles can munch on them for a while, and 4 send me some
weird song... otherwise nice video also next time try to use you voice to say what you are doing. sometimes ppl dont understan the typing in the video. i would also ask you to make a video more explaning.... but i guess nice vid
i know. but my voice sounds weird on film. plus, i say in the desc. to watch in high quality because the words are better seen and less blurry. but thanks for the possitive feedback. im coming out with a new pet depot video soon!
Not good setup for feeding...crickets are stupid and will commit suicide.. this setup more for a turtle

I noticed you had both European and Oriental Fire bellied toads mixed together.
I've got 2 Oriental, and just bought a European one but im not sure if i should mix them together.
Could it be toxic for the other 2 or would it be fine?

Thanks guys!
