  • The most perfect song in the whole wide world.

  • Written by Johnny Mercer in 1943. Perfect for Orbison, and his chorus singers are hauntingly other-worldly.

  • not late sixties early sixties on an album i bought in ,64

  • not late sixties early sixties i fancy as i brought the album in 64 as i remember

  • Such a great song, listening to it when Im feeling sad helps. its sad but nice at the same time

  • this was recorded in the early sixties i brought the album

  • Great interpretacion, the best for me

  • Roy was the man!

  • Such a dreamy song :)

  • Simply wonderful - I was in a happy mood before playing this, now I'm not so sure what I'm feeling.Absolutely mesmerizing. It takes a moment to settle in before I can function again.

  • I first heard this song on one of my favorite movies, "You've Got Mail" and I fell in love with it. Thank you for posting!

  • @LovePeaceJoy551 "Harry Nilsson" sang it in "You've Got Mail" I think...

  • @gary26087 I am so sorry, I was wrong...Roy did sing this in the movie!!!

  • @gary26087 OH !! I just saw this.... yes, you can't, just can't mistake that unique much missed voice... and the man himself is missed.

  • @gary26087 are you sure ?? They played several of Nilsson's songs, but I think Dream was sung was Roy Orbison.

  • @gary26087 Really? Because this sounds exactly like it did in the movie. ... But you could be right...

  • Roy was cool.

  • beautiful

  • You've got mail just has the best soundtrack ever, seriously. This song is just so soul touching.

  • This was just on an Album... I guess they didn't think it would sell as a single. Wow... I guess just one of his throw aways. Sure worked well in "You've God Mail". I need to see what else was just thrown in to fill up his albums.

  • ALAN FUCKIN WAKE!!!

  • You've Got Mail :)))

  • How I love this... unbelievably the first time I heard it was in "You Got Mail" where they also include a few Harry Nilsson songs.

  • @bon1042 "Nilsson" sang it in "You've Got Mail"

  • It doesn't get any better than this.

  • @nutflame

You're perfectly right, it doesn't get any better!

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • My good friend Don LeMaire got his first start in security working for Roy Orbison. He went on to own a very successful celebrity security business. He also played a pretty good fiddle.

  • There is no other like Roy.... the best in the world. This is a beautiful song sung by a beautiful voice... Elvis Presley said "Roy Oribison is my favorite singer"....

  • Don't make me cry ... too late, Roy's version complete with b/g singer's works for me :)

  • on the soundtrack youve got mail the heart and soul of roy gives this movie heart and soul

  • @lauriston100 Yes, very yes... it is an easy thing to do. Take a song like this and play it over quiet moments in a movie of the lead actors and the emotion and pain and heart and soul gets sucked into the movie. And the movie now has that same feelings... all thanks to a vocal genius.

  • I love this song, found the album for 50p, In Dreams, worth much more for the tracks on there

  • it took me forever to find this song on here. i love it!

  • never heard it before,very good ;)
