  • That's all balisong flipping is? Just flipping it back and forth? Never once do you reverse its orientation in your hand, or close and open it repeatedly. You just keep it open and flip the blade and one side of the handle left and right. I thought it was more interesting than that.

  • @Supermassively It is and can be more interesting. I have other videos with aerials, hand transfers, and doing stuff with the bite handle. And in the end, I do it because it's really fun. Like learning how to yo-yo. Don't hate. Participate.

  • @theblasto Then you should have done the more interesting stuff. Even basic one-handed opening and closing would be more interesting than seeing someone flip it left and right.

  • @Supermassively I'm truly sorry for making this video. I'll take it down.

  • @theblasto GOOD! YOU BETTER!

Kidding. Still... I thought flipping was more complex.

  • It looks so simple in slow motion, and yet jaw droppingly quick at full speed! My hat is off to you! What would be a good source for learning new maneuvers? To dispel any misconceptions my interest in the balisong is purely aesthetic; In a self-defense situation I'd much rather rely on O.C. spray or a makeshift bludgeon.

  • i love it when people actually knows how to make the butterfly flaps it wings :D

  • cool vid

  • How sharps is your knife? There are a couple of time during the video that you make contact with the blade and sliding your finger across it. You could be hitting the back of the blade for all I know but cool. Please don't say it is razor sharp unless it can actually shave your face because as a knife maker, it gets annoying when people say that when it is not actually so.

  • @thechoreographer HA! I appreciate your razor comment. That drives me nuts too. I'm glad its not razor sharp, because I would never be able to keep that kind of edge.

But yes, they're sharp. Every-day-carry sort of sharp. I wonder if anyone has ever come up with a scale for sharpness. Anyhow, I'm in danger of cutting myself, yes. I have been cut thousands of times.

  • my friend brought one of those to school and threatened a teacher with it.

    he was of course, expelled.

    dumbass.

  • There is a lot to learn just from watching his basic opening.

  • Hey thanks! The basic horizontal opening is still my favorite. :)

  • 1:50 VICTORY :D

on another note, (desire to mill a channel balisong and outift it with IKBS)%(likelyhood that I would crap up knife D:

    D:

    D:

    D:)

  • try penspinning

  • it looks sweet but in slow mo to much safety....

i recommend more bite handle manipulation, then those who know will recognize your bravery.

  • i have a latch thats moving to much what should i do?

i thought about removing it but then it would be hard know where is the safe handle

  • I still say remove it. You can put the pin back in and feel for that to know which is the safe/bite handle. Didn't take me too long to remember to check for the pin. You learn fast when you forget. :D

  • eye candy to a balisong lover, just love it Dave. i would love to have an older 42 with a removed T latch, so much better lol.

  • Brother, you haven't flipped until you've flipped a t-latch. Especially once you've taken it off.

  • i havent flipped with a 42 t latch, but i remove the t latch on all the other balisongs i get

  • I had a cheapie with a t-latch...I "removed it" (It flew off one time lol)

  • What brand knife is that?

i have a jaguar im saving for a benchmade

  • Benchmade 42. This is the older t-latch style, with the latch removed.

  • wow..

    u re great..

n what camera did u use to make the slow motion?

  • I believe it's a Casio (I think). It belongs to a friend. They're on the consumer market for around $1,000 I believe. It does HD, and high speed up to 1200 FPS

  • aint that a butterfly knife

  • Yup... Balisong = Butterfly knife

  • i just leave my blade dull (im a begginer, and if not id have a LOT of cuts on my hand =D) im learning my moves from CulteryLover on youtube

    p.s. You're Good!

  • Amaziing!

At 1:20 how do you not cut your hand?

  • That was the back of the blade bouncing off of my hand, not the sharp side. :)

  • cool

  • boah

  • Badass
