  • ARG! The playlist changed the video and I commented the wrong video!!

  • :'( Amazing

    *cheer*

  • Thankyou Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, always using such sensible words.Always giving. Such a wonderful woman. May more and more people take heed of what she has to say. Thankyou empty mindfilms for this video clip.

  • having attended her teachings in australia, you know you're in the presence of higher being with ani-la in the room :-)

  • Sending you much love.

  • can somebody tell me, what are those marks on her head`? is that a sign for some kind of spiritual attainment?

  • @Sarael72 Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is a Bhikshuni. This level of ordination is not found in Tibetan Buddhism, so she took ordination in, probably, the Chinese tradition. (Bhikshuni ordination is only offered in Chinese and Vietnamese traditions). Part of the ordination ceremony is to take the Bodhisattva Vows. A monastic who takes these vows has 3 cone incence burned on their head, leaving a small scar. I don't believe this is being done within the past 10 or so years.

  • @Sarael72 wax burns from ceremonies of attainment, practiced in some tibetan traditions,,,, watch closely, you'll see them on the heads of monks in all the himalyan films

  • And at the end of the clip "Buy the DVD NOW!!!"

  • time is the issue do we have enough time !

  • Post-Structuralist Christian here. I say good on the part of this individual. May she continue in peace. I on the other hand, plunge head first into the world to do what I feel I must. wish me well. I love you all.

  • The ones who insults her are idiots. They're probably claiming they're happy in life. No one is perfect nor is anything perfect in life. If one didn't have their wants and desire will they be hurt or miserable? No, because they didn't want at all, if you were to have wants and desire and you didn't achieve it, how would you feel? She speaks truth and rich wants more and more so as the poor. She didn't waste her life you ass, she probably found more peace than you would ever will.

  • I believe that you are what you think, and the way this woman goes on about everyones spiritual journey being so, so difficult suggests to me that she may not be in the best state of mind about her own reality.

  • Tenzin Palmo should e the Queen for the whole planet. All politicians & business people should have to follow her. Then this planet would be blessed!

  • it seems that this earth will perish before humankind becomes enlightened. another cycle of eons must happen before we are lucky enough to be born as conscious beings again...........Of course its such an old but true saying that even the simplest animal understands except not us dumb humans.....................never shit in your own nest.

  • why do people need all that buddist shit to see montains and to do what they like ???? ?!

  • @douglasmacjames

so tell me douglasmacjames ...how long have you been a complete fuckwitted moron?....must be a while now as your certianly no amatuer

  • @Yawwwn1990 oh i am still an amateur, i don't have the experience of all those fucking budist masters who will fuck you if you are open legs...i mean open mind ! they are complete fuckwitted moron with complete thousands of years experience. Another question ?

  • @douglasmacjames Perhaps you should learn to communicate and listen before you put down somebody who knows more than you do.

  • Respond to this video...This is brilliant, simply put, and true. Those of you who are interested may read Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo's biography, CAVE IN THE SNOW or another book of compiled teachings, REFLECTIONS ON A MOUNTAIN LAKE. Also, she has another book coming out soon.

  • meditation comes from self, thinkings. So you can meditate or not, you can have nice ideas or not, you make self stronger.

So tell me Budha WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ? you only MASTURBATE YOUR MIND ! there is no differenc between meditate or not, go to church or not, bad thinking and nice thinkings : all proceed from thinkings ! you are fucked aniway and you don't accept that !

  • @LEVRAIVRAIZEN

You sound really angry and uptight. You should learn to meditate. :)

  • @LEVRAIVRAIZEN You are what you think. All that you are arises with your thoughts. With your thoughts you make the world. Speak or act with an impure mind And trouble will follow you As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart. We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world. Speak or act with a pure mind And happiness will follow you As your shadow, unshakable. - Buddha
  • I noticed when I used spellbooks and opened all my chakra points....I've been able to communicate with spirits during my mediatation....and I've experienced a thing known as astral projection....or outer body experiences.....

  • Are woman forced to shave bald when they are becoming monks or was that her free choice?

I would be supriesed if that was necesarry as buddhists are open-minded and long hair shouldn't be a problem for them.

  • @Max0Inq being bald and wearing robes helps you to not be distracted by worldly thoughts like vanity, beauty, etc. so they do it as part of their pledge to join the monastery. it means everyone can just focus on the inner life. Yeah, they have to do it.

  • @TheTyaptyap Sorry, but forcing woman to shave hair is just form of discrimination. You can speak of being discracted by vanity but shouldn't physical beauty come along the spiritual beauty? It's like covering one eye and claiming the half of world you see is all you you need.

  • @Max0Inq the men shave their heads as well...they aren't saying that by shaving your head you gain greater understanding of truth or something; it just happens that people tend to naturally care about their hair and shaving it off allows one to get away from that tendency, hopefully, to perhaps focus on more "important" things.

  • @cobaltdan9 Maybe this is huge overstatement but from that point of view blind, deaf and mute people have better possibiliy to achieve enlightement.

In my opinion you can't know the truth about the world, the life if you do everything to escape from it.

I'm mean: how can you say something throws you away from the enlightement if you never experienced that thing?

Understending doesn't lie in refuge from the reality. It lies in confronting and studying the reality.

  • @Max0Inq calling something beautiful or ugly is judging it. Buddhism tries to move beyond the human habit of dualistic thinking; worthy/unworthy, good/bad, etc to try to uncover the unity that underpins everything. You might be offended by her "ugliness" but what you need to know is that she doesn't judge herself by your standards, she tries not to judge anything but see its inner truth.

  • @Max0Inq its not discrimination if the men shave their heads too. Labeling something 'beautiful' or 'ugly' is judging it. Buddhists try to avoid judging things on their outward appearance, they try to avoid human-constructed dualistic thinking and try to look deeper into reality beyond this.

  • I really enjoyed this. Thankyou.

  • Does anyone know the word used at 4:04 ??? "I always prey that I will comeback again and agian endlessly to serve all beings until ........ is emptied"

    thanx in advance =)

  • @EvolvingTruthSeeker

    Samsara...

to make it short : its the cycle of suffering (the average life) based on attachment (based on for example : hate) letting go of all attachments is to forget oneselft, be one with all beings and reach enlightment.

What she quotes is the ultimate service due to the buddhist vow "sentinent beinds are nuberless; I vow to save them all"

Its just a simplified explanation... feel free to look it up ;)

    take good care of yourself

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • "...it takes tremendous, tremendous amounts of effort to become effortless...." Yes. So yes.

  • I liked this all except for her last words about "not having enough time" and "running out of time". That seems fear-motivated to me. I highly doubt God himself is worried. The dinosaurs died out, no problem. Life continues, here, there, everywhere, elsewhere.

  • Delightfully wise clarity & directness.

  • 5* stars...

  • Thank you for your wisdom.

  • lovely to see her after reading her inspiring book, Cave in the Snow

  • Our sole purpose of being on this earth is God showing mercy for us so that we have the opportunity (Given by him) to know him and embrace his truth...or reject it. For the Love of God would be rendered meaningless if we had no choice.

For God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten son for Whosoever believed in him may not perish but have everlasting life.

    John 3:16

  • @antulio

Our sole purpose on this earth is to survive

    Mohammed Shaybani 13:67

  • I disagree.

  • (with Shadowcry1000, that is)

  • @colaFRank why?

  • @Shadowcry1000: Hi, SC. Well, quite simply put, I think we are here to make a difference.

  • @colaFRank yes...i think that she's saying that we have to be here to make a difference or we are all screwed.

  • Much needed and appreciated wisdom, thanks for uploading.

  • thank you for the upload, she is awesome...true sense of self. ^_^

  • "it takes a tremendous amount of effort to become effortless" very insightful

  • Brilliant. She is incredible, would love to see more!

  • She is really great.... But why did she do it....

  • we each walk our own spiritual path

  • What is a Spiritual path..... I go to sleep, get up in the morning and choose everything inbetween. where is my spiritual path in this routine.

  • some choose to go about there daily lives with no special attention to any thing spiritual, some learn different practices or beliefs to enrich what is otherwise a normal life, and some decide to devote their entire lives every minute of every day to a spiritual pursuit; we choose our own path and are always walking it, whether we choose to ignore this or not

  • Are there any benefits to devoting your entire life to a spiritual path as opposed to a path that is wrapped up in going from work to home and back to work and so on.....The only benefit I can see is spending a lot of time with one self..

  • ha ha, yes quite a bit of that is done, but this also means discovering one's self coming to self realizations and unlocking the mysteries of your own brain, some people believe there are things that can only be accomplished through intense meditation and spiritual study, whether it be Buddhism, Taoism or many others they believe in and have discovered states of the mind far beyond what we are normally used to, whats important to you material things you buy or true contentment and understanding

  • Discovering oneself through mediation, spiritual study, etc. Does this study also include finding out if a person is sane or not sane...I believe this can only be attained by sharing our experiences with another.....

I think some material things you buy is good but I also believe that contentment and understanding is good to...

I also think it's sad that a person should not experience the wamth and knowledge of another flesh and blood human. To spend to much time by yourself seems very selfish.

  • many people have become insane getting lost in their own minds then again many go insane in the daily drudge of life with no sense of their own mind, ultimately these people who choose such a spiritual path can't do what they do without learning from others first, unless they are running away from specific responsibilities i don't think they are being selfish, how many especially young people are lost in the material world no idea of whats truly important they are the perfect example of selfish

  • I know exactly what you mean..I have a few people at my place of work going insane..

I always thought that the complete practise of spiritual pursuits as running away from the responsibilities of life, some do it for a short time others do it for a long time.. But its running away non-the less.

  • Maybe my use of the word Selfish is to harsh a word for a full time, hide youself in the hills type spiritual person. I know that following Spiritual pursuits does help a lot of people. Including my work colleagues who are going insane. Anything that helps people is good in my book. And if it stops people becoming violent toward each other then that is a blessing.

  • And I agree that being fully emersed in Material gain is also very Selfish.. Youngsters just want more and more and more. The latest gadget, better and more expensive cars and to the detriment of having warm and loving relationships.

You indicate that following a spiritual path cannot be possible without learning from others first Is this the same as brainwashing or something similar like hypnotism.. I am interested.

  • although hypnotism and brainwashing do happen and there are bad teachers out for just money or what ever else there are very good teachers too, people are taught everything whether spiritual or math or science this is humans passing knowledge to other humans its gone on for as long as there have been humans and knowledge is lost without it, as far as the man in the mountains fully immersed in the spiritual what is he running away from? he has simply chosen another type of life

  • for most people not all but for most, the best path one of the major beliefs of Buddhism is the middle path not to much not to little just the right amount in the middle, which goes right along with the Taoist idea of yin and yang there's no yin without yang no yang without yin there must be a balance for things to flow properly, that said there are always a few that fit into a life fully immersed in one thing or another, we're all different

  • I agree were all different..

Which one of the Spiritual beliefs do you recommend I follow.... so I can be successfull in everything..

  • i don't think one is better then any other, i personally felt very drawn to Taoism but i've learned a tremendous amount from Buddhism as well, Buddhism Taoism and many yogic systems from India are full of incredible knowledge of meditation and spiritual connection, you should look into many different philosophies and find the one that that really connects to you personally; that said delve into that one deeply but don't stop learning from all

  • I think Taoism resonates well with me... I think your right.. learning deelply should be the aim and going over the same thing over and over again...

  • @gerry2345 enlightenment is everything, so I'll probably go for Buddhism.

  • @rlam86 ... Good for you..Enlightenment is evereything and nothing..

  • that great the truth... about everything,,,, nice

  • @grbushido nice? dont you mean terrifying?

  • In this 5 minute clip, she spoke more truths than all the politicians, news anchors and journalists of the world have done in the last decade.

  • awesome!! shes western, shes a girl and... shes a buddhist nun!!! its too cool! shes my new idol!

  • AWESOME thanks for the video
