  • Bulletin. Acceleration is a function of mass v power. The B roadster... especially with alum V8 being lighter than stock cast iron 4... is a fraction of the weight of your 4.5 vette so why are you so baffled by its being faster to 60? Besides... why bring vettes into the discussion? Attempt at misdirection? Face it... other than saving money on sparkplugs at tuneup time, the V6 is a loser to the alum V8 in every category that matters to someone doing an engine upgrade.

Your funny! I am not a Corvette fan but what your saying is

My V8 is 25% faster than your V6 cuz it has 25% more cylinders.

Corvette Vs. MGB suspension, rear axle, and literally rubber that meets the road: MGB is limited. If you don't understand this, think of a Ford Model T with a LS6 all alloy engine with Huge power compared to yours. Bad suspension, tyres, etc. but you think a model T would beat a car built well?

Nope. you need to built the ENTIRE car correctly not just add power.

  • great

  • "0-60 very short order"? WTF? How about a number? Guess 5.2 Sounds smooth, looks clean, uninspiring compared to a Rover alum 4.6 V8 that is no more work to install in a 79 or 80B, costs just a bit more, weighs less than the stock 4banger, and stunning to open the hood and see the genuine ribbed MGB V8 valve covers. Not to mention it can triple your posted V6 HP and torque and loaf to a 4 second 0-60 ... but you'll get better MPG as if that matters (and if it does, V8 can pull lower axle ratio)

Mr. Benchracer, few Corvettes 0-60= 4.5 seconds so your rover powered MGB w/195/70R14 does 4.0?

Sorry, our stock V6 Conversions only do 6+/- seconds. Here I thought my 0-60 was limited by MGB Design.

Rovers Factually DO take more time and money to install.

We can build V6 motors with more power but this is Standard.

We can easily pull a 3.07 rear axle, I prefer 3.42 for quicker takeoff.

    My 140 RWBHP= Aprox 170 BHP. Your fuzzy math: 140 RWBHP X 3 = 420RWBHP= 504 BHP? Enlightening.

  • I just pulled an L32 today!

But its not going into an mgb...

Ite going into my blazer using a fwd 3500 top end, which is what I recommend you do to that white beauty. It actually breathes until redline!

  • 140 HP is great!

I just finished the 4.3 Conversion if the 1977 MGB with the Holley Carb using your Kit. The driveshaft and other parts fit like a glove!

  • Thank You MGAMGB! Make sure to give a few unsuspecting MG and non-MG owners a ride but don't tell them what you've done- Its FAR more fun that way!
