first off i would like to see gretzky do half the stuff ovey does...second the game is completely different than it was then ovechkin is the great one of the new game...third gretzky had a kind of a like a respect around the nhl and no one would hit him teams played different against him when he was on the ice...and gretz would usually not hit neone...my opinion is ovechkin is the better all around player...but the game is different now and they are the great ones of both their time periods

What an electrifying player! His speed and wrist shot are possibly the best ever. He is also tough and intense. Not the best player ever (at least so far) if you consider playmaking abilities, but he is close and it looks like he will set the standard for the current era. He should be playing for a Canadian team (preferably Habs)!
