Elis, Where Angels Fall, and Amberian Dawn are also worth checking out. Maybe Ava Inferi, Autumn, Krypteria (whom I hate, but who knows, others may like them). Also maybe Xandria (don't like them/her either, but hey, to each their own). That should get you started I think.

From what I understood, certain light beings (whoever they are) came from something called the void.

Void - the absense of any and all matter, therefor, light is made of photons which are matter, thus being with the light beings in there it wouldn't be a void. With the light beings leaving it, it would collapse on itself, since when the void is actually void it tends to draw all the matter to inside itself, thus no void exists since
