@tappa55 Thank you. I originally recorded this in Beta, then copied it sometime later to VHS. What you're seeing here is the copy, which I don't think is as good as the original. I have three Beta players, none of which work. If I ever get a good Beta player, I would like to go from Beta directly to the computer. Then I can do these over and the video quality will hopefully be better. If the Beta tape is still good; we're talking 27 years, yikes!
@catlarry Yea, I had the whole show on Beta. But, alas, the machine died, and I had no way of recovering it. Sure wish it would come out on DVD. Heck, if it came out on Blu Ray, it would be the incentive for me to splurge on a Blu Ray player!
This was an absolute perfect set!!! The mix on this combined with their talent made for a great showing!!! He kind of reminds me of the way Marvin Gaye would have ended this song as well.
The Jive Five, an outstanding group who always give their best. To Johnny and Francis, I state that growing up in the middle to late 50's, and listening to "Doo-Wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear," was an emotional high. Each day brought many great sounds that was impossible to vote the best. Kids of the past 10 to 15 years have nothing to look forward to. Their generation had the opportunity to follow in the foot steps of groups like the Jive Five.
I am 22 years old, but born in the wrong time. One night, I will dance with my love beneath the same stars that once lined the skies of 1956, as this song plays.
Dear Johnny, I am 40 but since I was 11 I have the same feeling... I think I was born in the wrong time. I always dream about to travel in the time and go back to the fifties... I will always have this dream. I love this time, I love doo wop...
Now, this IS music, what harmony, thank you!

Remember when this was on TV. Recorded it but later taped over it because those tapes cost so much at the time. Thanks for bringing it back.
