  • 7) When you strike with your shoulder, you should make a move back with your pelvis to intensify your strike. I hope you're not offended by this comment. I try to be constructive. Keep on practicing. Best wishes. Régis (from France).

  • 5) when you push, don't transfert ll your weight on your front foot, you should be 70% on your back foot, and 30% on your front foot (if you're not, it's easy to pull you); 6) at 3:30 you made a mistake, you shouldn't push but break the arms, as you've done before (please, help me, I don't know how to explain lol);

  • 3) don't forget to unroll your feet from the heel to your toes (for eample 1:50) each time you take a step; 4) When you pull at (2:05), your back foot should be on your toes and it's when you want to pull that you should transfert your weight and roll your foot from the toes till your heel (like you've done at 2: 22 (just, put your foot a bit further back ) => 2:39 it's quite good.

  • I'm really sorry about my english, but I have some advise for you. It's not to bad, but I just want to give you those advise that my master gave me. If you want to improve your technique: 1) your moves are kept, you should push a bit more, don't forget the fact that you want to push someone (for example at 0:26-0:28); 2)You shouldn't bend so far away on your back (for example at 0:39) because your torso is to far from your gravity centre and you're easy to knock;

  • Bad form, bad technique...

  • This demonstration of 13 Postures is featured at “Tai Chi Videos for Home Study”(Google “taichi sports officelive” with quotation marks to locate). The website provides video links to Yangjia Michuan Taijiquan teachers and experienced practitioners demonstrating 13 Postures, Duan One, Duan Two, Duan Three, Kunlun Sword, and Tuishou (Push Hands). Links to Yangjia Michuan Taijiquan organizations are also listed if you want to find a teacher or just learn more about this form of tai chi.

  • This does not look good.

  • This man must be hyperventilating!

    YMT is about slowly movements and synchrone breathing....

  • This looks so well done as to be natural. Have you ever done Prof Huo's Secret Yang Style. This appears to be a truncated version.

  • The 13 Postures is a short intro to the long form, introducing the core ideas ( 8 basic moves and 5 directions gives you 13 postures). So no, it's not truncated.

    As for Prof. Huo's Secret Form...there is some controversy about his claims. He seems to be doing the basic Michuan form, but his lineage is fuzzy.

  • Maybe I'll post a video just to show the differences.

  • Hi,

    Great to see Yangjia Michuan on the web. The thirteen postures form is very well done! You might want to write in the description, though, that for demonstration purposes it is being performed at about three times the "normal" speed (i.e. it is considered to be about a fifteen minute form).

    Best wishes,

    Tom Campbell

  • Awesome interpretation of the 13 Postures. I would love you to visit our channel. I think you would be interested in what we are doing with the theme of your video as we are applying the posture strategies to Western Boxing, Kickboxing and Grappling. Thanks again for the show... Master Singh

  • that's awesome!
