  • Zelfde stem al tim knol!

    echt top muziek!

  • Man i shoulddownload it on my sandisk!

  • where can I find the lyrics?

  • @fabio5a2 There is no lyrics. He's singing in "Hopelandic" which is a language the band made up, which is just as far as I know just singing that fits with the music, no lyrics. Thats why the albums untitled. You interpret the lyrics how you want, and the meaning of the songs how you want. I heard that even the album comes with a booklet full of blank pages for you to write what you want. Hope that helped.

  • @Petalflipper I see.

  • this song is similar to the mona lisa in the sense that you can't decide whether its sad or happy ,you can't tell its just so breathtaking and unique.

  • Love this song. Love Jonsi's (lead singer) solo stuff I can't recommend it enough. Great movie too

  • I love this. It makes me feel sad in a good way.

  • The way they used to perform this song back in 2000 is so much better than the studio version. Studio version is still really good though.

  • Beautiful. Summons smiles, tears, lost glances, hands held.

  • I love this song ... Great band.

  • I love this song ... Great band.

  • this song is actually "spy plane" in english

  • :*-)

  • Ho viaggiato attraverso la luce.

    Ho viaggiato attraverso la luce

    (dovrebbero dire questo.)

  • se non sono dei geni loro..

  • I can picture myself on my last moments of life, listening to this tune while all the happy times of youth and meaningful experiences lived flash before my eyes.

  • :p

  • This music captures the mood I would have if I was terribly sorry for something I have done to someone I loved. Forgive me Jennifer for all the fucked up SHAMAN walks I have brought u thru only to selfishly glean a deeper SPIRITUAL TRUTH.

  • Sigur Ròs.. Representing Iceland's beauty since 1994.

  • This was the first music I heard from Sigur Rós. That was 3 years ago. This music was the begining of my discovery of Sigur Rós! By far the best band in the world.

  • i loved the movies vanilla sky! such a great movie. and sigur ros's art just made it that much better! thumbs up for sigur ros!!!

  • Is this the same lyrics as to untitled 11?

  • Comment removed

  • i think i found the song im going to use for my protools 110 final

  • AHHHHHHH MY HEART GREW 8 SIZES 4:50

  • This is the best song ever made. No one had or will be able to create such a perfect representation of emotion it self buried in the deepest corner of human capacity to make art, to give life through music, to take us all away from the ground for just an instant to get lost in beauty.

  • I'm so fucking sick of reading that this song is in vanilla sky. I try not to think that it was even in that flick. same goes with "everything in its right place".

  • This song is in maybe my favourite movie.

The love that the 2 main characters experience is pure, and the pictures in your video describe what I am going through.)

    Nice song, nice video :)

  • insert dramatic comment here

  • i can finally listen to this song again :) my bf showed it to me and ever since, its was our song. We broke up a year ago and we dated for 4 years. but everytime i listen to this, it makes me want to be in love <3

  • This music makes my whole soul literally cry. It is too beautiful for words. That's why there aren't any

  • I miss you. But if you are happy, then I am happy too.

  • @Mythezza aww =(((

  • I wish my DELL XPS Studio wasn't such a piece of shit so I could listen to this song without the audio shitting up

  • I love you, Janesse. So long.

  • Pure magic... no words... 15 times in a row, and still it's not enough...

  • This is part of a playlist. How do I know which playlist is this? and what is the previous and next song?

  • Does Thom Yorke do vocals for this song, or is that someone else? I apologize in advance for my lack of Sigur Ròs knowledge. Just found them........ or have they found me... Either way, I'm very much liking what I'm hearing.

  • @BLURCEG Nope, that's Jonsi. He does the vox, guitar, and plenty of other instruments.

  • @BLURCEG Also, please don't try to make Sigur Ros bad by associating them with Thom Yorke. Forgot to mention that.

  • @metallicacdc hey that's unfair, thom yorke is good, just in a different way. i'm sure radiohead had a large influence on sigur ros when they started out

  • @domtoug Radiohead is the most overrated piece of shit in the past 20 years. I really don't understand why people would want to listen to that shit. If Radiohead has influenced Sigur Ros, awesome. Thankfully, I can't hear said influence in their music. Call it unfair, but I tried 6 or 7 albums by them and still can't see what makes them so "great." Sigur Ros is infinitely times better than Radiohead.

  • @metallicacdc you may not like radiohead's music but there's no arguing against the fact that they're the most influential band this century. Kid A and Amnesiac basically reinvented electronic sounds in music and led the way for many other bands who also shifted in an electronic direction, which i would say sigur ros partly did in ( ). i would add that Radiohead take a while to get into. I certainly didn't see what everyone was on about when i first listened to them, but they grew on me a lot.

  • @domtoug I've given pretty much their entire discography a listen, some albums multiple times (especially Kid A), and I still don't like them. They just have no appeal to me and it sounds like shit. And I don't exactly listen to bands influenced by Radiohead (excluding Sigur Ros, according to you), so I really couldn't care less if they're the most influential. They've got no impact on my genres of choice.

  • @metallicacdc Well that's all fine but just because they have no appeal to you personally it doesn't make them a shit band

  • @domtoug See, but if it doesn't appeal to me, then to me, it's a shit band. As I said, I don't understand why people like them so much, which is obviously due to them not appealing to me. However, there are some bands that I don't like, but I can clearly see why people like them. But that's besides the point I suppose.

  • @metallicacdc It's half beside the point. What I'm really getting at is that you said "Radiohead is the most overrated piece of shit in the past 20 years". That's a definitive statement, not really an opinion, or at least that wasn't clear. To be honest though, I don't hold it against you at all. Each to his own right?

  • @domtoug They are the most overrated piece of shit in the past 20 years, in my opinion. I've given them a try, and I see nothing unique--so I'm giving an informed opinion. But, of course, to each his own.

  • @metallicacdc what are other bands that sound like this? I doubt I can get a good answer, mainly from a guy whose nickname is metallicacdc

  • @Mixarenan Hey, it wasn't my account to begin with. My brother made it, but I use it. Regardless, I'll give you a decent answer. While Sigur Ros is in its own class as far as I'm concerned, I'd say they are in the same area as bands like This Will Destroy You, The American Dollar, and M83. TWDY will sound the closest (IMO), while M83 strays pretty far out. As for bands a little further out but still similar-ish, you can look into Explosions in the Sky and Olafur Arnalds. GYBE is semi-close too.

  • @Mixarenan Oh, GYBE=Godspeed You Black Emperor, if you aren't familiar with them. Also, I don't think there's a way to view the playlist that this song is part of without finding the playlist first--but then again, I don't know all there is to know about Youtube.

  • @metallicacdc You are a fucking idiot , period.

  • @TheBoysdontcry96 I'm sorry that you are mesmerized by the shithole that is Radiohead. Don't bother replying, as I'm not going to explain myself again. G'day, sir.

  • @metallicacdc The fact that Radiohead is my all-time favorite band has nothing to do with me calling you an idiot. You have just said some things on here that could qualify you as being shortbus material.

  • @TheBoysdontcry96 Ah, so it has nothing to do with what I've said about Radiohead. I'd say that warrants a reply because it seems like you might have something intelligent to say, though I highly doubt that. Let's hear it, good sir.

  • Have you seen the Chicane remix of this song? middledistancerunner all those newbs can't hear that it's the same song just remixed lol

  • I prefer to call this song "The Mountain song" because when i listen to it i feel like i´m floating over the mountains of my (and of course, Sigur Rós) home country, Iceland.

  • GREAT SONG FROM EPIC MOVIE VANNILLA SKY!!!!

  • I like this song!

It is very interesting to listen to it repeatedly when you are sleepy, the sensation is fantastic!

  • This song is so soothing to me and, apparently, to my new baby. I sang it to him in the hospital yesterday and it put him right to sleep. =)

  • Iceland is amazing. Sigur Ros is the only band that can reflect the pure win put out by such an amazing country.

I want to fucking move there. The art, the nature, the nightlife, the girls, and the history just blow me away.

    Iceland FTW

  • This is peace.

  • Only By the Grace of God there goes I

  • Fits perfectly into the QAF session 3 episode 1 final scene !!

If u know what i'm talking about u will agree for sure !

    :)

  • such a beautiful song...

  • There is neither happiness nor unhappiness in the world; there is only the comparison of one state with another. Only a (wo)man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss. It is necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to livethe sum of all human wisdom will be contained in these two words: Wait and Hope.

  • 6:50 LOL it's the ash cloud!

  • I Just Listened To This For The First Time & Cryed Repeatedly... I Feel Like Something Has Burned A Hole Into My Sole, Heart, & Mind. Flittering Feeling It Gave Me, A Brief Experience Which Will Remain With Me, For All Time.

  • @LucienNeff Stop Writing In Capitals!

  • lol ice land will be a nice place..until the world ends up like venus

  • iceland got pwned economically and physically

  • one of my favorites from them! brilliant track!

  • I listen so much to this song... In the Itunes i have a play count of 1,232 =D...and counting

  • @IBILacIKx : I have been listening to Njosnavelin every night for years. It was then joined by Glosoli and now Hljómalind.

Njosnavelin feels to me like one of the sadest songs ever. Very deep and emotional, much to do with loss or desire for something un-reachable or unexplainable.

Hljómalind is just build up madness, which goes great with the nuclear test videos that is on youtube.

Glosoli has superceeded Njosnavelin for me. It brings a tear to my eye everytime I listen to it (daily+)

  • @StevenRW ah, Glósóli, I can't go one day without listening it... Sigur Rós is not just a music band, the are one of those few if not the only ones that are able to get deep down to your emotions and really make you reflect on things you've done or will come to do. If you are able to do that with music, then you are a true musician.

  • Physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually uplifting! Simply put..this song is life affirming! Sigur Ros at their very best..Takk :)

  • I wish I owned the Spain edition of ( ) so I could have that nice booklet with all of these pictures. it's so beautiful.

    art and song.

  • Great music!

  • one of the greatest musical pieces of all time

  • Icelandic Artists are the BEZT! That's why I live in Iceland...

  • this song makes me feel very very strange in the most beautiful way...

  • VANILLA SKY....FUCK YEAH

  • OMG!! I going to CRY!! AND CRY !! AND CRY!!

  • whyyyyyy?

  • Sigur Ros makes the most beautiful music. I've been listening to this song every day for over a year!

  • yeah definitely a great song and could also be my 2010 song.

    lol

    they're Icelandic .

  • my 2010 song.

  • One of the most important songs to me.

to all I've been, all I am.

  • Could you tell me what you are? And, yes, this song is amazing.

  • this song makes me feel less scared about death now

  • I was listening to this song for the first time when I found out that a friend of mine died, he drowned... which kind of suits the music. Needless to say it will always hold a special place in my heart.

  • this is one of the few songs that can move me by sheer beauty

  • This is sort of weird, but I always think of my first crush and our time alone together when I listen to this song. But that was when I was like, 12, lol.

  • awesome song... makes me feel kinda free, alive, like nothing matters, I can do what I want.

  • I've got the album on Vinyl. Simply fantastic.

  • Preciosa...

  • I´m stunned... I can't stop listening

  • been listening to this band for ages.. since they were on the culture show.. the song and the band itself really does highlight Iceland as possibly the most peaceful country on earth..

  • i can't stop listening to this song

  • eish he died. nutty

  • I looked at the time on this vid. I had been watching for 4 minutes. When I looked again, it was 4:18. It felt like hours had passed. I was surprised that only 18 seconds had passed. I would love to be able to discribe this song, but no words in my vocabulary cover it. The closest I can get is 'haunting'.

  • ethereal. you're looking for ethereal. maybe celestial.

    im in tears.

  • Is it because you heard this song in Vanilla Sky, as to why your in tears, or just hearing it by itself? I feel a sadness listening to this, mixed with a weird sense of happiness, but sadness is the dominant feeling.

  • Is it because you heard this song in Vanilla Sky, that its so haunting, or just hearing it by itself?

  • To be brutally honest, I have no clue what you are talking about. I just love the music. It's unlike anything I've ever heard.

  • its cool, yeah I love it too. If you haven't seen it, watch vanilla sky, this is the ending song to the movie.

  • Yeah, never seen it. Never heard of it, actually. What's it about?

  • Its a remake of Abre Los Ojos (Open your eyes), a spanish movie by Amenabar. This one has Tom Cruise as the lead roll, and Penelope Cruz (who plays the EXACT same roll in Abre Los Ojos!). It's just a fantastic soundtrack to a fantastic movie. Good job to Amenabar for Abre Los Ojos, to Cameron Crowe for Vanilla Sky, and to Sigur Ros for this amazing song: Njosnavelin.

  • Oh Ok. Thanks.

  • its a crazy movie. watch it and you'll understand why thats the best i can give lol

  • Oh. Does it have a plot?

  • yeah... a guy trying to remember murders that he committed. its riddled with, well, riddles, and hints and clues. the whole movie is sort of a test, and the viewer has to decide "How much of this was a dream?"

  • Whoa. That actually sounds sounds like a good movie.

  • Stunning...I think of the person that could be standing beside me right now but never will.

  • i think everybody here do the same...

  • Man, this is a heavy comment. And...totally! This music has burned into my mind and into my heart. I am marked by a distant, brief experience which remains in me, for all time...and that person that could be standing beside me right now but never will - as you put it so perfectly - sent me this song. For now my heart streches across oceans and miles and time.

~What a strange feeling, so fitting to this music...

  • : )

  • @Islingtonians the one that got away eh? ive been there too. this song suits the emotion perfectly.

  • @Islingtonians Best. Comment. Ever.

  • @WhyYouJelly thank you! I have to say, of all the crap I've said on youtube...it kinda means a lot that this one is one that people understood....cheers!

  • @zeppage4 i dont know if the pms has something in it, but your comment made me cry (even having this person).

  • @zeppage4 i always think about dear paople i ve lost forever when listening to their music, but the language they sing in is called hopelandic, so in the end there is always a smile on my face

  • Very Emotional. First i heard it at the final scene of the movie "Vanilla Sky" Beautiful Song.

  • i too

i like so much also "doot doot"

  • This song makes me want to drive to the Hollywood hills, park my car, and stare at the city at 3am alone or with a significant other... :\...soo emotional.

  • If I'm angry, I just listen to this song. It sooths my soul instantly.

Riot police should play this through loudspeakers to subdue rioters.

  • i love this song. it makes me sad ..haa

  • Kid A?

  • Kid A is an album by the band Radiohead.

    it is very good.

  • ha - i know that (i'm as big of a Radiohead fan as you'll find) ;-) was just quoting the movie. :-)

  • besides me. XD

  • Ok computer is better...

  • what a fucking idiot. that has nothing to do with anything. and no, it isn't "better." you just like it more.

  • lmao

  • i loved this song in the movie vanilla sky

  • fuckin sweetest song ever

  • Je t'aime ma puce ^^"

  • Cool song, first time I heard music like this.

  • does anyone know what album this song is on?

  • This is on an album they released under the title ( ).. its known as the untitled album, this is song number 4 on that album

  • although the video does not suit it's passion

and katie is a smelly turd

  • I agree... right into my heart.... I feel like i'm in love

  • so amazing..

  • hey

    brenda

    yo te amo

    !!!

    <3 =)

  • This makes me feel proud to be human. Such beauty we can make. And yet it humbles me completely.

    So beautiful.

  • wow its amazing

    so wonderful i cant describe

  • This song makes me happy in only 7 minutes.

  • I loooove it!!!!. This gets straight into you're heart. Nothing you can do about it.

  • i'm speechless. sorry.

  • clearly not

  • this is in my opinion the most beautifully written song... it takes me to wonderful places. my husband and i got married to this song.

  • I want to play this song for my wedding too :) And also Andvari. Heavenly music.

  • i think sigur ros was completely right in leaving this album untitled... theres no possible way to describe the music and properly do it justice(at least thats the way i think about it)...in fact maybe all of their songs should be that way, because i've yet to hear a sigur ros song that i havent immediately fallen in love with

    ^_^

  • Completely agree ^^

  • "Sol" (Our star - the sun) is 93 million miles away. "Proxima Centauri" our nearest star to our solar system is 25 million million miles away. "Sirius" our brightest star in the night sky is 53 miilion million miles away. "Andromeda" our nearest spiral galaxy to our own the milky way is 11 million million million miles away. The point I'm trying to make is, is when we gaze up at these objects they look so poignant from Earth, just like this song. It just show how small we really are.
