  • replace the word quality with shitty and ill come back and finish watching this video

  • baldwin pianos are nice but they lack a deep singing tone and steinway doesnt provide much richness. i have been a pianist for many years and i speak from experiance when i say that bosendorfers privide a deep rich singing vibrent mellow sound that we all crave. The only thing good about yamaha and mason and hamlin is their durability. Bosendorfer is the piano for me

  • @pianoprodigy987 Whatever your the elite so give off your high horse. 98% of piano players canot afford a Bosendorfer. I've heard the American made Charles Walter grands are better.

  • @MrJohnboy006 well i know most people cant afford a bosendorfer and i most certaintly cant, mine was handed to me by my grandmother when she passed away. and as suprising as it is, i dont think i have ever played on a charles walter so i wouldnt know. but everybody is entitled to their opinion :)

  • Ive been playing piano for 8 years and after I started playing for a couple of months on this old massive upright in our living room, we decided to get a new piano that wasnt going to rape all of our ears. When looking for a piano at a store, after a couple of hours I came accross a Baldwin Hamilton 243 upright that I regonized from seeing the same type of piano in the choir room at my old middle school. I sat down and played one chord and knew immediatly it was the piano for me.

  • What's the song called in the finishing and soundboard section?

  • nice pianos but i prefer my Nieber&Co wich was build 1896 in berlin by Carl Lösse Jr. Hagen. maybe the quality isn't the best anymore but it's a piece of history.

    i just love it <3

  • i prefer the style used in Vienna during the 18th century the old Viennese forte-pianos i think have a richer and mellower tone

  • @knight10666 totally agree, in factthat is why i bought a collard and collard period piano

they were the best pianos before boendorfer

  • @pianoprodigy987 yup then there is the benefit of a moderator stop too

  • @knight10666 and the benefit of a moderator stop too :)

  • the best piano makers, i really love their work. i wanted to buy one but i want to know, how much for it???

  • there can deffinately be different parts/departments in a companny so saying their not handmade because the companny name sales other products is rather dumb ,and you should look into it more before you say their horrible, and made by machienes.seriously people?

  • I'm a 13 year old who's been playing for six years, and I have the Baldwin upright I started on. For a fairly inexpensive piano, it's just plain awesome. A professional pianist we know was the one who picked it out. He tried out every piano in the showroom, and immediately knew the Baldwin was the one. Thanks, Baldwin!

  • @juiceforjoe in your opinion

  • @juiceforjoe not really how can a company which makes motorbikes make pianos sound good? its all machines its horrible

  • srry but i HATE baldwin Steinway is wayy better infact ik some one who bought a baldwin new and it came in with burnt hammer shanks!!

  • @itscodyw you had to tell them didnt you lol

  • @eltonjohnfan100 yup hehe, THESE PIANO'S AINT EVEN WORTH THE POWDER TO BLOW THEM STRAITE TO HELL! stemway and Bosendorfer would run this half ass piano CO. in the grand if people could afford a instrument of aney REAL value! aint that right?

  • @itscodyw absolutly

  • I love my Baldwin! I practice on it and find the most awesome interpretation ... then have to struggle to find the same qualities on the Steinways in the concert halls. (sorry to say).

  • Best grand piano in the World? Bollocks! steinways are the best. However these are top notch pianos.

  • baldwin is an ok piano make the only reason i think its ok is because its american i prefer steinways or bechsteins but dont we all just HATE yamahas! :P

  • @DjRiggerz I'd rather have a Yamaha over a baldwin.

  • @itscodyw i agree with you there

  • @DjRiggerz hahah who dosn't? These piano's are awful, I wont even work on them. Id rather work on a square grand.

  • @itscodyw haha very true :)

  • I am i big fan of Baldwin, especially since I have an antique Baldwin passed down through my family that dates back to early 1910's or 1920's and it still plays amazing.

  • im in little rock arkansas

  • i Love piano, i was searching how to make a piano by homemaking then i just got here. :P

But i don't think is easy...

  • dang imagine if one person messes up

  • Todayz' :-) Made in China........ not in America.

Baldwin was a great instrument when built in USA..

  • I HAS A QUESTION! why is the town sleepy?

  • @AtownPros the piano will wake them up

  • My Dad bought a Baldwin, back in the mid-eighties. American Made- and it is a Beautiful thing. Thank you, to all these People, who 'did-their-job', and created Things that Continue......Blessings!!

  • Baldwin doesn't make pianos any more - they just import them. all those people are unemployed now - either that or they're working at walmart.

  • The piano(s) being played over this sound amazing. Much more resonance and guts than a Yamaha. Why is it US pianos sound so different!

  • @77edster Sorry to say, that's a synthesized piano you hear.

  • This video is kinda sad seeing as how that factory shut down in 2008

  • I'm considering purchasing a new baby grand piano but I really don't know how to compare a new baldwin to a new yamaha or a stienway....what should I pick?

  • I like Baldwin, but I also like Yamaha and Steinway.

  • Interesting

  • as of today ALL baldwins BEING MADE ARE MADE IN CHINA

  • Better check your facts. The Baldwin Grands are still made in Trumann Ark.

The Baldwin Chickering is made overseas

  • @luxurytech wow really... that sucks.... If there was any reason why I love America.... this would be it... i guess not for long

  • whats name of music in 3:17 ? Thanks!

  • Somebody know the name of musics ? Thanks!

  • 5:24 "oké he work for Baldwi nPiano's but he wearing a T-Shirt from Gibson a Guitar Compagnie"

  • I know Gibson purchased Baldwin in late 2001, but the AZ factory was closed and didn't the actions start being made in Juarez Mexico? That scared me. Is the factory on this video show where Baldwins are 'currently' being made?

  • i first noticed this brnd when amy from evanescence played this piano in a concert...

    this is really cool!!!

  • i got a baldwin and for a vertical people have told me it has a amazingly rich sound.

  • in the beging "worlds finest pianos" this is fucked up in every way. no concert piano played a baldwin. either a steinway, bosendorfor, and faziolo. wow

  • In the beginning it said "America's Favorite" not "world's finest." Your claim that prominent artists didn't use them is false. Stravinsky, Bartok, Gieseking, Iturbi, Bernstein, Brubeck, and Liberace all played Baldwins as well as others and many of them appeared in ads praising them. Classical artists started using Steinways exclusively when Steinway successfully took over the classical music scene w/their "Artist Roster." See YouTube vid of Bernstein playing "Rhapsody in Blue" on a Baldwin.

  • It's too bad they closed the Trumann factory.

Thanks to Gibson for that one. I don't understand why the company filed for bankruptcy so many times if people like Dave Brubeck & Leonard Bernstein used Baldwin pianos.

  • just thinking about hearing the piano with fresh, new, clean, stretchy strings....oooohhhh

  • I heard you are never supposed to buy a piano made in Utah. Does anybody know why that is?

  • I've never heard this and Google knows nothing. As long as the wood is properly kilned and kept in a controlled environment it should be fine. Keep the plate and wire clean and dry so they don't corrode. Unless you have issues with a Mormon workforce, I see no problem with a piano made in Utah.

  • well, i saw it while reading a list which rated piano manufacturers. At the end of the list were the poor makers, and it noted that you should never buy a piano made in Utah.

  • ASTIN-WEIGHT of Salt Lake City is the only major manufacturer I know of in Utah. They have been quiet for a while now. I can't tell if they are going out of business, restructuring or moving to China. If the problem is quality-of-workmanship as you say than you answered your own question.

  • I heard it was just a supply and demand thing. like too many pianos that need to sell and not enough buyers so theyre just waiting for the others to get sold then they're gonna re-open the factory. Thats just what i read.

  • They will probably begin making the baldwin artist grands in china. Gibson has really betrayed an american legend.

  • @keg646 I Sincerely hate Gibson for doing that!! I own an american Baldwin console.

  • Sad, all those people in the video lost their jobs as Baldwin (Gibson) shut the plant down... no more American made pianos.

  • they shut the baldwin plant down?!?!?!?!?!

  • please tell me it ain't so......

  • I hope they didn't, i was planning on buying the SD10 or the SD10E.

I own a baldwin m1 and r1 right now ... ahhh. their my babies. haha

  • yeah....sorry. I didn't believe it at first until I read some of the other comments.

I futher researched it, and it's true.

No more American made pianos that I know of. Baldwin has closed it's doors.

  • when did this happen??!!

Their website is still up and stuff.

  • "No more American made pianos..."

Are you forgetting the world's most renown brand of modern times?

    Steinway & Sons

  • Wow.. I have a Baldwin upright at home, and this video makes me appreciate it even more

  • Okay, WHY DO PEOPLE SAY STEINWAY IS THE BEST?!

Its really not, they quality has diminished. A Fazioli and Bösendorfer are the BEST pianos on the market.

  • its because of the sound quality they produce and their versatility. they can be used to play almost any genre of music. also, it's one of the oldest piano making businesses.

  • Steinway is THE piano.

  • Steinway is BEST i should know i've played them forever and sold them.

  • a baldwin piano makes a good piano, but a steinway has better quality

  • These people all just lost their jobs.

  • Hi

I heard that Gibson was keeping Baldwin going. Is that not true?

  • Amy Lee has a Baldwin piano and it's wonderful! great vid!

  • great vid, thanks!

  • what no mention of the pianomation?

  • Awesome attitude and craftsmenship make a wonderful and beautiful piano. Thanks for sharing!

  • Damn those are some lucky people working there. True craftsmen.

  • i have a baldwin baby grand in my home. It is simply the best piano one can ask for.

  • I proudly play a Baldwin SD-10, 9 foot concert grand. Thank you to all the people who made the artist grand piano I perform on. It's great to see you on this video. I'd love to come visit you... maybe I'll get to! Thanks, again!

  • I love Bladwin piano.
