  • Your video's are quite good. Thanks for sending them my way.

I don't usually see much video from the mid west. Keep em coming.

  • With the SUV in my town those are the kinds of people I feel deserve to have their vehicle get hit and them get killed. It sickens me to say but it is true

  • Get a life

  • What horn is that at 10:09 before the AMAZING RS3L?

  • Nice videos nictrain35 You really have good video footage

  • OMG, this was awesome!

  • I must say, that is really amazing. The shot over the bridge was my favorite. It's nice to see some of the units still posessing the Santa Fe logo. Where was all of this shot?

  • Wow! lots of trains in this one thanks for sharing.

  • Awesome!

The Chilly Sub Is My Favorite!

I Always Drive To Logistics Park Chicago, Since There Is An Easily Visible Intermodal Yard, Switch Tracks Serving Customers On The Same Property, And You Can Drive Around The Entire Yard And See Everything, No Walls In The Way, Just Fences, And A Couple Of Distribution Yards Nearby, You Should Check It Out, Its All Down Baseline Rd. In Elwood, IL Southbound On I-55 2-3 Exits Past Channahon

  • Damn Great Video!

  • Great shot of our test truck!

  • k, that CSX engine had like bwraaaah! sound like its got air going in to it, at the same time its putting out air, what the heck? is that right? is that how is sounds normally?

  • OMG!!!!!!!

    WOWOWOWOOWOWOWOW!!

  • "Wow" was what I was saying to myself after the day was over. LOL.

  • Yeah

  • Nice Video Nick!! Man, that's a ton of action!!

  • Thanks, Turner! Yep, it was the busiest I've seen the Chilli Sub in a long time.

  • Is there any benefit to putting engines in the back? Nice vid, Nic

  • Quite frankly, I think they could do without them, but they mainly have them to get up Cajon Pass and other big hills.

  • Thanks for the compliment, Tim!

  • That was awesome....Comment mines...Thanks.....

  • Thanks, Gary! Your videos are very nice as well!

  • nice bobbing and sawing at 10:11

  • Thanks! Yep, they were rockin' and rollin'!

  • unfreaking believeable great video , gee whiz i wonder how many BNSF INTERMODALS there were , and BNSF engines

  • Many thanks, Eric! Yep, they run a TON of intermodal down the ole' Transcon. I can't imagine what it'll be like when the economy is at its best strength.

  • @NicTrain35 hey ur right ur right , how many trains go through now ?

  • I'd say about 40-50, maybe more, but that's after the hit from the economy. Traffic is slowly picking up.

  • On that NS B11 Local I think that same power may have been on it a couple of days ago because my bus got stopped by it and I think that same power was in charge.

  • Cool. I was in Kernan a few days before I was in Streator this day and heard a conversation over the scanner about B11 crossing the BNSF. I tried to make it over to Streator, but I must have missed the B11 by a long shot. I know for sure there was a GP40-2 in charge. That could very well be the same power.

  • Except I am not 100% sure but I think they only had two engines that day my bus got stopped. Oh I almost forgot for that train at 6:34 I know what crossing you were at. It is Airport Road and under that signal are a couple of crossover tracks. Trust me I have been out there before and they fly through there 95% of the time except sometimes I have waited for my friends on the Local 101 out there and it takes them forever to get moving and get out there sometimes.

  • Yep, you're correct on that location being Airport Road. I always see them barreling by, but this train had quite a bit of traffic ahead of it, making the train travel along at a restricted speed.

  • wow! excellent video, 5 stars!!

  • Thanks, Jeff!

  • Great Video!!!

  • Thanks, Trey!

  • Awesome catches!

  • Thanks, Ben!

  • Nice Video. 5*'s.

  • Thanks, Willie!

  • You Welcome.

  • Because I'm a member of the FACEBOOK social networking web site, whenever I rate or comment on one of your videos, that video automatically appears on FACEBOOK.

  • Hey, where's the cop to pull over those locomotives and give that engineer a ticket for speeding?

That street sign plainly says, "Speed Limit 20"

    (Yeah, I'm joking!)

  • Haha! I thought it would be really interesting if I included that speed limit sign.

The 20 MPH limit is also interesting because Mazon is patrolled by one cop (due to its small population) and statistics showed that if you get pulled over in Mazon, you're getting a citation 100% of the time. Not sure what the stats are now.

  • Wow!!!

    What bodaciously fantastical video!

I especially loved the part where the moving freight train was switched from one track to another.

And, yes, I couldn't believe what I was seeing when that little pickup truck ran across in front of that oncoming train.

In that night shot, it appears that the lead locomotive has one of its ditch lights not working.

Anyway, this is so good, I've rated it "FIVE STARS" and posted it on my blog, giving you full credit.

  • @writesong it was bodacious :)

  • Thanks, John!

Switching tracks in the bridge scene absolutely made that scene. Loved it!

Definitely a dangerous little crossing where the pick-up crossed in front of the NS local. A lot of people like to take chances there.

Ironically, I saw that same unit with a burnt out ditch light a few years ago and the ditch light was burnt out then, too. Funny how that works!

Thank you very much for the compliments and many thanks for posting it on your blog!

    Nick

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Thanks, Jesse!

  • good catches on all the emd power & the bluebonnet!!!

  • Thanks, Mal! Yep, it's nice when the EMD's keep on rolling through. Wish the Bluebonnet was in the lead, but SD40-2's are SD40-2's these days.

  • yea i hear ya

  • Jeez those freight trains are in a hurry. Does anyone know the speed limit???

  • I'd say around seven hours.

  • Lots of action

  • Yep, just the way the good ole Chilli Sub was meant to be.

  • very nice video!

  • Thanks, Ty!

  • Wonderful footage,

I am amazed the people are allowed that close to the tracks.

    The night footage was great.

  • Thanks, Carlos! Yeah, they are allowed to get pretty close, but trains make a lot of noise when approaching.

  • Awesome video keep them comming...

  • Thanks, Gary!

  • Great day of railfanning, indeed. Great job as usual!

  • Thanks a lot, Nick!

  • Too bad in a couple of months, this could be a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire hathaway. <:(

  • Not really... They just deal with the Money... Its still BNSF Railway

  • Great catches. Nice editing, too.

  • Thanks very much, Bill! I appreciate the compliments.

  • awesome videos
