  • 109 dislikes!!! wtf is wrong with you people.

  • Holy, kick ass body! I think you have a great approach to nutrition and you're not damning or condescending like some other gurus. Well done sir.

  • The ideal body painted by the best in the early Renaissance. Lithe, strong, and totally ripped. OMG, what a midriff. Bravo, Dan, you're the man.

  • weak and scrawny

  • @LAWAGO He has the body of a soccer player: Lean and strong. Nothing wrong with that.

  • HOT ;)

  • WTF?

  • Dan - I thought you would be into more body weight exercises without the need for big machines. If you're all about being natural and healthy, why not look into it ?

  • @gymgymgymgym take a closer look at whats happening in the video

  • Your pullups do not have good form.

  • skull man

  • I Guess You Don't Absorb Enough Protein...You're So Skinny! That's Why I'm Scare To Go On A Raw Diet...I Guess I Could Ingest Proteins Supplements

  • That is one thin dude -.-

  • dumbbells will give u better results machines will reduce ur results and dumbbells are cheaper

  • i have to say thats more pull ups than i can do... though i weigh 190

  • are you kidding me? he's way too skinny.

  • @Estrellamii

    Your right

  • now thats a workout!

    nice =)

  • i think you dont use any protein ?

  • Yoga or ballet is more appropriate with Dan's type body

Fitness or bb is more for body type 'mesomorph'

  • What is this?

  • bibbeny u obviously havent seen spiderman recently, hes much bigga than this fellow lol, and brucelee was much much more ripped

  • he looks verry weak, but he isnt

    good job

  • I love you!!!!!

  • wow, really inspirational!

  • @axltijuca I was referring to my friend who is friggin' huge and eats the same raw foods diet and no meat, or protein shakes. My friend trains for mass and get's it! Dan seems to be working out and training for health/endurance reasons not for mass. You can go ahead and judge Dan by your limited ideas of what is "healthy" and good looking, but that's just your opinion. Nutrition and being healthy is WAY different than looking jacked up...but you can get huge on raw foods if you feel the need to.

  • @Twotontongue

i see, of course, everyone has the right to think wathever want. I respect Dan, but i dont agree with the "image" that he promotes on youtube as the "best way of living and have healthy body". Im not saying that beeing huge is the point. But Dan is far far away of being healthy, dude that a look, anorexic, his body lacks fat and mass, whats the point of going gym if ur body doesnt have the nutrients to upgrade? Ive seen alot of body types, Dan ins´t a "healthy model" at all.

  • @axltijuca u dont have to be big to be strong

  • @axltijuca ok if Dan isnt a healthy model, please show me one that is... cmon we are all waiting for your response..

  • @Twotontongue look at tribes around the world they are very lean and strong.we arent ment to be big and buff,in the wild it would take to many calories to stay like that.its unatural to be benchpressing 500 pounds ,hard on the joints.

  • @axltijuca I was referring to my friend who is freaking huge and he eats the same diet. Difference is my friend trains for size and he gets it. Dan seems to be training more for endurance/conditioning and health reasons, not to look a certain way. The high protein bodybuilder diet is not very healthy nutritionally speaking. Looking "good" has nothing to do with health. But you can put on more mass if you want to on raw foods diet. He's posts for teaching about health, not to show off his body.

  • @Twotontongue everyone has a friend that does the unbelievable...

  • @Elite1987 Putting on mass and muscle without eating meat is by no means "unbelievable" if you really think that you don't know jack squat about weight training for size. You might not get to the peak of bodybuilding that way but for any person who isn't concerned about BB competition and just wants to be strong, and have the "big sexy muscle" look you can easily do it eating only raw foods. If you can't then you don't know how to work out properly or you aren't training hard enough. Period.

  • @94McMike Since 7 months ago 7 people agreed with the compliment. SEVEN MONTHS AGO!!! hint hint

  • Go ahead DAN!. I agree with a previous entry. Your back cuts are fan-freakin'-tastic. You ARE an inspiration. I, too, am on my way to a high percent of a raw life style. Thank you again for givin' a damn!!!

  • You are what I would imagine a Fremen would look like.

  • nice muscles

  • I've been running an hour a day since last july and have only lost 32 lbs. I think I need to add weights since the weightloss has pretty much slowed to a grinding HAULT. I'm so discouraged. I know 32 lbs is good but I thought I would have been way further by now.

  • @MeanMissC Running so much is not effective, you lose a lot of muscle which reduces metabolism.

Pump some weights and add muscle, you will be burning fat around the clock.

Run 3 times per week at most.

Also don't forget to eat protein, if you're 100% on raw foods, at least add a daily protein shake to your diet.

  • If my back looked like yours I would never wear a shirt either. You got a body like Bruce Lee or Spiderman( if Spidermen was real) then again you are a superhero.

  • Ps. the strengh of a man is solely dependent on semen retention. If you lose your seed, you lose your strengh

    semeloss (dot) info

    x

  • Fruits and Veggies were designed for purity of mind, cardiovascular fitness, the Ayurveda tells us if we wish to be physically strong then we must eat grains and dairy. It's all about what you wish for :)

Ps. don't jump on me because I said eat dairy. Only the west fucks up the milk, homogenises, pasteurised and fills with hormones. Only the west kills the cows. In God's land the ox pulls the plough and the cow feeds the humans and both are revered and loved more than humans themselves

    xx

  • they

id like to get your opinion on the video RAW VEGAN MYTH

its a guy who is a weight lifter and is very muscular eating a 100 percent Raw Vegan diet with No Dairy

  • ACEBAKER911 ,funny i keep bumping into you,are you a vegan??

  • Yes, and im about 50% Raw now, with an eventual goal to be 90 %.

I had a recent Phone Consult with Dan about a very rare and unique Physical problem i have, and for anyone out there who is thinking about it, i highly reccoment speaking with him.

He is a very understanding and compassionate guy with a Ton of excellent insights about Health and Healing.

We had a very deep and revealing convo, he showed me some things i definitely need to work on.

  • 2:33 crazy back muscles, Dan you the man. I love Dan!!!!

  • lol :P nout crazy about the natural human body. Everybody's back muscles are exactly the same as Dan's. We just have too much chub covering them, Dan's BMI is like bruce lees

Checkout the anarexics if you wanna see 6pacs and toned muscles :P Or just eat fruit for a year and look in the mirror xx

  • I like this equiptment, because it's using your own body weight instead of weights.

You're so Inspiring Dan, truely!!! AHHHHAHA LETS AVE IT!

You're a fine example of someone whose living for the moment and enjoying all that life has to offer, whilst at the same time creating and bettering yourself in the process , and being all you can be, and loving every minute of it!!!!!

As opposed to regular Rock N' Roll which is about living for today, but on a self destructuve path!

    Dan, you rock! X x

  • You build those rib cages, dude.

    You go, Man!

Rock Out with yer RIBS out (LOL)!

    Just playing.

  • No no it's not possible!!! You can't possibly have that much strength and energy on a raw food diet!! It's not scientificlly possible!!!!!!!! You must eat plenty of dairy and meat!!!!! This cant be!!

  • Yoooo!!!!! What up dan, so that is how you keep your body in shape or is it the raw foods, which one is more important lol? Good job Love and Peace!!!

  • All i can say is wow....i really need to do some exercise.

  • Dan, way to go man, Great display of Raw Strength ! I workout 1x a week doing pullups and mix it up with weights.

I know how tough it is to do those pull ups with good form and that W I D E grip. They are Crazy tough

If anyone thinks they are easy just try em yourself, i know they look easy, but in reality they are very hard, Especially that super wide grip, that changes the entire mechanics of the exercise

You are Obviously gettin High quality Amino Acids

  • i wish he had some muscle

  • please show us your body....so that we can all learn about what muscle actually looks like. would you make a vid for us please? and i'm being serious.

  • Looks like you took that comment personally. I never claimed I had muscles to show! I just said I wish he had some muscle, meaning more muscle than what he has. Comparing his body to that of a protein eating athlete, he obviously has less "amount' of muscle. If he had more, he would sound more promising about the raw food diet he promotes.

  • ok, cool...I hear ya...but...

Is it a valid assumption that a greater 'amount' of muscle means greater strength?

Bodybuilding isn't so much about strength, as it is about bodyBUILDING.

Back in the day when Dan was a bodybuilder, he was a lot bigger...but guess what, today he is STRONGER. How can that be??

Ballet dancers are *incredibly* strong, yet are incredibly lean...

So what is the point of adding on beefy muscle just for the sake of show? Why not shoot for strong & efficient?

  • yea i agree with ya, Remember a chimpanzee is a very Lean skinny animal, yet it has the strength to rip a car door right off the hinges !

Throw in a 270 lb Thick muscled Bodybuilder in a Ring with a wild chimpanzee and it would be ugly.

That ' skinny ' Chimpanzee would rip the Bodybuilders arms right out of his sockets ! Size is not always an accurate measure of Power, what is more important to ask is What is the QUALITY of the muscle tissue ?

    Raw builds excellent quality

  • I agree with the conclusion but not with the argument. You are comparing apples and oranges. Although Chimpanzee are humans nearest link in evolutionary chain, they're not the closest in the way of our body functioning. That is why rats are chosen for experiments rather than chimps. Also remember, when you try to compare the humans and chimps, you'll have to consider humans as omnivores because chimps are omnivores too. That will destroy the premise of a raw vegan diet.

  • You completely missed the entire context of what i was explaining, it had nothing to do with any dietary specifics of Food,

Rather it was on the subject of the Relation of Muscle size to Strength.

    But thanks anyway ! lol

  • I see what you mean. I didn't miss your point earlier. What we're talking about is muscle density of a chimp compared to muscle density of a human. A chimp can carry more strength in less amount of muscle because of the type of tissue it has which is different than a human's. Therefore, they're not comparable. A proper comparison would be what Milokito is saying, comparing muscle that of two human beings (one on raw food vs. one on standard muscle food, which equal amount of muscular activity).

  • You are lost in your own thoughts and you are obviously on here with a Huge ego and Agenda to prove your own personal contention accurate, that a Raw Vegan diet is Not healthy nor Biologically normal for Humans,

i could refute you all day long and show you where you are wrong, but out of respect for Dan and his vids, im not about to Inflict everyone Here with a 'flame war' Between us simply because you are Against the raw Vegan diet.

  • So what about if humans follow a raw omnivore but still a chimp diet?

  • After saying that, let me also add, Just curious , why arent you on Omnivore Vids commenting if thats what you Advocate ?

You are certainly entitled to your own Biased subjective Opinion , but since you have stated you obviously disagree with and dont approve of the Raw Vegan diet

Than thats cool, so why are you here ? Meaning other than to just provoke and start Never ending debates and arguments

    it will accomplish Nothing

  • Yea but isn't it true that chimps only eat meat whan they really need it to survive, as opposed to all the time as a staple diet?

You'll prob disagree with that, but I read it somewhere in a book, which was actually published so it simply MUST be true!!

  • you could be right. i'll look it up. thanks

  • Also consider a full grown Male Mountain Gorilla, they get up to around 400 or 500 lbs. Can you imagine if you placed 5 Huge Human Body builders at 300 lbs each in a cage with 1 Mountain Gorilla.

i would guarantee you only 1 would walk out of that cage alive, and that would be the Gorilla and there wouldnt be a mark on him , hed tear those guys to shreds !

If size were the only indicator of Power, 5 huge bodybuilders should win that contest, but we all know itd be opposite

  • eek, you almost got me scared there for a sec, until I realized I have Dan to protect me. lol

  • Milokito,

Thanks for replying back. I did check out that channel, (rawveganbodybuilder). I must say I am pretty impressed. To give you a little background, I have been a vegetarian all my life and have never tasted meat. I consume very little dairy and negligible eggs. my grandmother is 93 years old and her sister 105. My family is 'jain' (followers of Jainism) meaning we don't eat meat, are completely vegetarians and we don't even eat anything that grows under the ground. So no roots.

  • It looks like to me that there is no single formula for nutrition and not one single way of life will fit everybody. However, one solid conclusion that I have come to so far in my research is that humans don't necessarily need meat for their optimal health and strength, muscle mass and longevity can be acheived based on vegan, raw vegan, vegetarian diets. We do not necessarily need dairy, meat or eggs to be optimally healthy.

  • sorry didnt read this earlier comment of yours , My Mistake.

  • why dont u go ahead and delete those comments now to save urself embarrasment

  • Nah ill let them stand because my chimpanzee comment is still accurate.

Instead, ill let your own massive ego and pride speak for itself.

    have fun ! lol ; )

  • Lastly , i forgot to add Huge Level of Arrogance.

ok thats all , im out, have a nice day : )

  • With all due respect, i disagree that I demonstrated any level of arrogance. I have agreed with the raw food philosophy when the evidence was brought up. I am an objective researcher meaning I don't bring my subjective opinions while researching something. The research has to be unbiased and scientific. And then there is good science and bad. Bad science is when we start comparing apples to oranges. Something like Chimps to humans. I was just pointing out something that I didn't agree with.

  • Why don't you eat roots?

  • Although we eat cooked food, nobody in my family is obese. As a matter of fact you will never find an obese person in jain families. However, my sample size of few people doesn't amount to solid conclusions and that is why I am constantly reading the field of nutrition and listening to experts. Dan being one of them. I should further agree with you that strength matters more than volume. My counter argument though is, I have seen equally fit and strong omnivores, people on protein powders etc.

  • I also just wanted to add the caveat that Dan himself says he is in a 'skinny detox phase' right now...he just started weight training again and will be adding at least 10 pounds of muscle as we get deeper into the fall...(I need to confirm that number with him, but he's on the phone right now...so if it is off, I'll let you know!)

Have you seen the rawveganbodybuilder channel, btw? good stuff!

  • Screenflicker if you are right in saying that you cant compare a human with a wild animal. That point about the Gorillas was first used years ago by vegetarians to try and dispell the protein myth.

If you wanted to compare Dan with another Guy you consumed a high protein diet you would also have to consider each of their body types.

In classic Physiology there are 3 main body types,Ectomorph,Endomorph and Mesomorph. Not many people are really 100% one type or the other but a mixture of the 3 .

  • to cont... there use to be a rating system from 1-7 , so someone might be 2-5-1 or 5-2-2.

So anyway my point is that it would not make sense to compare someone who is more an Ectomorph to a mesomoroph

You can look up body types on the net for a description of each type.

Some body builders to check out if you want are ;-Frank Zane ecto-mesomorph,Dave Draper endo-mesomorph,Dorian Yates full mesomorph.

Sorry about the spelling mistakes but you get the idea ?

  • Thanks for that information, it's uselful.

  • body types can change. ever seen a 400lb man loose weight and look totally different and lift weights and change his body. gorilla comparison is vary truthful. They eat highh quality foods which have an abundants of amino acids(which are protien). low fat and high protien through veggie sources. Of course we are not gorillas so we will never have thier strength but we can be fit and strong as hell for humans.

  • @youngfred116 Fallacy. We are not Gorillas, we are not cows nor Elephants, we are humans with completely different internal organs that can process grass and other vegetation into protein. Veggies, nuts even beans and rice have little protein. If you aren't getting an animal source of protein (or using a pea protein/ rice protein etc powder) you will never build significant muscle, or even much at all and this man is proof of that.

  • @Elite1987 didn't you hear me when i said we aren't gorillas. Did i mention anything about an elephant? What do you think protien is??? it is amino acid which is what protien is when the body breaks protien down into smaller forms. This man isn't lifting, eating and training for bodybuilding but if he did he could put on alot of muscle just from a diet of natural foods without a shit load of meat. Just raw amino acids in abundance. I've seen people who have plenty of muscle who don't eat meat.

  • @Elite1987 If this man is proof of that, then how come my friend who has 19 inch arms and he only eats 95% raw fruits and vegetables, and is a vegan, is able to be as huge and muscular as he is? He trains for size and mass and he gets great results. He's not going to look like a freak professional bodybuilder but all the women go crazy for him, and all the guys are intimidated by his shear mass and size. So yea, any realistic muscle gaining goals are still possible without meat or powders.

  • Showing goodform and awesome definition there my friend!

  • You need to show some pics of when he was diesel from bodybuilding
