  • Wow, great playing on this tune! That guitar player was really awesome with all of those pull offs. I teach this tune for fiddle! You can view the lesson for free on my channel, or go check out my website. I post new lessons every week for fiddle, guitar, and mandolin.

This is one of my favorite old timey fiddle tunes. If there are any pickers out there who want to learn this tune go check out my channel. I break it down niiice and sloooow

  • Can everybody hear Sammy's banjo alright?

  • any fiddler wearing a hokie hat is A-OK by me!

  • Guitar picker killed it!! Great flatpickin'!

  • mash it sam!

  • i love this feet mover i can only imagine what it sound like in the civil war camps i play a finger pick version on guitar also flatpicking versions in the key of g and open d tuneing its good to see both styles of banjer share the stage i love the tempo of this song

  • Sammy's banjo is tuned in straight G tuning: gDGBD

    j

  • anybody know the tuning on this?

  • @DrEireannach This is played in the key of C. If you are a banjo player its double drop C on the 4th string and the 2nd string. Of course it looks like Sammy has his banjo capoed 2 frets which makes it in the key of D.

  • Key of D. Played out of a C position however.

  • Love this song - and who better to play than Sammy Shelor?? (nice frailin' style too)

    Great stuff, thanks!
