I look forward to the entire series coming to DVD ... right now seasons 1 and 2 are out! This was an awesome clip, seeing the alumni of the show coming back for its finale was awesome.
Soooooo INSPIRATIONAL! It was kind of disappointing how a lot of the other actors throughout the years on the Fame TV series weren't at this "reunion" type of episode, but it's still MEMORABLE!
OMG its COCO(ERICA GIMPLE)!!! This made my night! i love this show and coco was one of my favorites on here! Brings tears all over again . . I miss this show!
@cogentdiversion - I couldn't agree with you more!! Some of the "alumni" were downright terrible singers. The actress who played 'Doris', I think her real name is Valerie something is a prime example of this. She was a good actress but a terrible singer. Great dancers and some good actors but a lot of the singers? Blah!! I think they could have cast a lot better in some instances.
@MissSai99 Valerie was a hell of a lot better singer than the actress she replaced from the movie version. Maureen Teefy - need proof? Watch Grease 2 in a terrible musical number about her being locked in a bomb shelter.
@MissSai99 Well, it was a TV show, not an actual musical so they cast primarily for actors. And with Debbie Allen they of course needed good dancers, so singers weren't the priority. And in musical theater, in acting schools they have to teach actors to be singers and dancers, so actually a lot of the original cast was pretty authentic.
@cogentdiversion True, but unlike some of the "school of the arts" shows these days, not everyone in a performing arts school is a singer. Dancers and actors are taught to sing and read music. And fame, given the nature of the scripts needed to cast actors first and foremost. You can see the difference in a lot of the "high school musical" type shows that may cast singers primarily, but the acting skills of their casts woefully lacking. Which in fact isn't all that unique these days.
so sad with a fame finale without nia peeples as nicole. she was one of the main characters in the show anmd they killed her off... so sad. she should have stayed and her jesse should have been reunited!
Same here, I had know idea Coco (Erica Gimpell) came back for the very last show!! She was my favorite character on that show. I hope they release the rest on the season on DVD!!
@luvtube40 I know exactly what you mean-me too. I used to practically live for this show in my teens!! It was on Saturday nights for a while and no VHS haha I'd rather stay home and watch Fame! One of the best shows ever!! and yes, long live the 80's!!!
baby remember the name fame 4 ever, doris, mrs grant, jessie bruno, cocoa. leroy. 4 ever. real tight. i love this and i do remember this show, thank's for posting. 10-14-09
This show was a huge part of my childhood. I learned so much from watching it. I'm 35 now and I still love to watch the repeats. Thank You so much for uploading this.
Thanks for the info. I purchased season one when it was released years ago. I'm happy to hear season 2 is being released in a box set. I'm willing to purchase season one again (in the box set) just to add season 2 to my collection. I hope they release the remaining seasons. I'm not thrilled about a remake but, at least it gives the fans of the original series/movie a chance to purchase a portion of the TV series.
Does anyone know if they are ever going to release seasons 2-6? I bought season 1 ages ago. I hate when companies do that....If you are not going to release the whole series, why tease the fans with one. I would love to own the whole series on DVD.
I think we all should send them laters requesting that they should release all of the seasons of Fame, and they can make a lot of profit doing so. LOL!!!!! LET'S DO IT!!!!!!! Where can we write to????? Let us know!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Mcau1 MGM are releasing seasons 1 and 2 as a box set due to the latest MOVIE soon to be released this september!! The dvd's are co inciding with the 09Movie version! Not sure if MGM will release the other 4 seasons? Sony did release the first season years agao now and not sure why they didn't bother releasing the rest?? Hope this info is of any help to ya?
Season One is being released a third time in January separate from season two which is also being released separately. Leroy is on the season one cover and Coco is on the season two cover.
Coco never killed her self. In the movie Fame a friend of Coco's attempted to throw her self in front of a subway train but Coco and other class friend stopped her. In the series Coco dropped out of school to pursue a professional career.
Once in my life I had followers and we thought that it was a movement that could conquer the world. But it was too great for one person and too explosive to get any official recognition. Its remains are on my channel - please visit it and watch the paradise videos etc. It is well worth the time, I guess that you will never meet anything like it elsewhere...
My gosh, this was such a great ending. Im glad I didnt see it then I would have cried buckets, its amazing. My two favourite characters were there, Bruno and Coco. Was I the only one who thought they should have ended up together?
Oh wow...I remember seeing this finale...they kept saying "remember remember" at the end...and I remember yelling at the TV as a child saying "stop it already!" lolol.
I remember being very depressed that Nicole was not here for this reunion, even though it was a fictional death. She was such a part of this show, it's a shame she had to miss it.
