i have a system similar to this that i put windows xp on its a Tangent Shuttle 1000
Intel Celeron 500mhz
128mb ram (needs an upgrade baddd.)
Silicon Motion LynxEM 4mb
10gb HDD 4200RPM
Belkin N Wireless MIMO Adapter
does anyone know if the LynxEM supports 3d capabilities??? cuz i have NO 3d support on my LynxEM at all no opengl support either. i do have directdraw support thats it. the latest drivers do not change 3d support but they cause my screen to constantly flicker
Actually, you did. The Grub menu drops away at the 24 second mark, and X is up at the 49 second mark. Since the BIOS delay can't be controlled by the user, it's irrelevant to a true boot time. And the short delay after X appears is dependent on the desktop environment -- in this case, Openbox.
Sorry kmandla01, but I have to disagree. When they do boot time tests they count from the time the laptop or PC is turned on until it's usable. That includes BIOS, RAID/SCSI controllers, etc.
my pc was slower and booted faster!
(gateway 400
winXp
400MHZ
256 MB ram
etc.)
